Called them today to fix 2 locks that have been problematic - one was a deadbolt that wouldn't even allow the key to turn, the other to my yard gate that had been getting stuck every other time I went to open it (the actual locking bar worked, but stopped going into the hole - an alignment issue). A few things that made this company stand out, and why I'll call them if I ever need a locksmith: 1. I called them at about 11am, and was able to secure an appointment for 2-4pm, same day, on a Sunday! 2. The number you call, connects you to the actual locksmith, not a call center. 3. The locksmith, Vinh, texted me when he was on the way, and arrived at the earlier end of the appointment block (he arrived right at 2pm). 4. They accept credit card on the spot (I've used locksmiths in the past who have tried to push for cash or check), and I'd much rather use card (for points, and to limit exposure). After a burglar stole our house keys on his/her way out from a shopping spree in our home a couple of months ago, I called MyHoustonLocksmith.com, simply because they were highly listed on Google as well as other sites. Kevin, the locksmith they sent out, was on time (we were in a bit of an emergency state), courteous, and very knowledgeable. He offered (but did not force a sale) to upgrade my locks to the high-security locks for which they are an authorized dealer. These locks are expensive, but WELL WORTH IT, TRUST ME -- READ ON! So, our house having just been violated, in spite of my significant other's recommendation to just replace the locks with normal products, I purchased the high-end locks, as well as the recommended reinforced plate that was screwed 6 inches into the door frame. Would you believe that this recommendation potentially saved our lives, and our property? Just the other day, someone, AGAIN, attempted to break into our home!!! This time it was in broad daylight, with my significant other being at home!!! The thief tried to pry open the door with a crowbar, but was deterred by the equipment that MyHoustonLocksmith sold me. The guy couldn't budge through, and the door held fast -- it's all beat up and ugly now, but it held. Having bent up our locks, the company immediately sent out another technician, Vinny, to replace our locks at a discounted price (not much, but the goodwill is already there, and I don't fault them making money -- they truly earn it). Vinny was great, and took his time to ensure our property and locks were secure, once again, going the extra mile to make sure everything was installed properly -- he even drove in some extra screws, making it virtually impossible for anyone to get through the door now. Some how the inside dead bolt locked when leaving out for errands. I looked on yelp and this place popped up. The lock smith had to climb over my patio and get me in that way. Cost was $65 for coming out and $20 for unlocking. From initial call to completion it took 30 mins total. They were fast, efficient, and friendly! I would totally recommend. read more

Houston locksmith saved the day. My car was lockout the night before. I did some research on locksmiths and found Houston Locksmith promising. I called the next morning when they open. I spoke to Paul and he dispatched a locksmith to my address with a estimated quote. James arrived under 30 minutes and after some paper work, started to unlock my car. It took James about 10mns to unlock my car. As explained by Paul, payment can be made by credit card. James ran my credit card for the amount of $85.00 as disclosed by Paul. In the past, I had locksmiths quote you after the work with hidden fees. Houston Locksmith was up front about their fees before I commited to the service. Fast and excellent service. read more

Call these guys! Don't Google! I must have called 20 listings on Google and got the same answer $25-30 to come out and the service starts at $35 per lock. No one was willing give a concrete quote or a price. The problem with that is they take money to come and then tell you it's $65 to rekey every keyhole/cylinder. What you don't realize is that your deadbolt has 2 cylinders. So, if you have a house with 3 doors you are looking at ($390+$25 to come out). Additionally, I found out that when you call listings on Google, it's a call center and NOT the Locksmith Company. Thank God for Yelp! When I called "My Houston Locksmith" I was actually speaking with a person at "My Houston Locksmith" office. She was very curious and had great customer service skills. They were honest and up front with me on the price and they also emphasized the importance of a Certified Locksmith vs "Google who know what Locksmith". She had techs all around Houston and since I called on a weekday she was able to find a free tech the same day. The technician was on time and was very professional. He had all the right tools and seemed very knowledgeable in his domain. While doing the work he explained to me that he pays out of pocket for his certification and license annually and that his company provides him with continues training. In about 35-45 minutes he replaced a total of 9 cylinders / keyholes in my house and all I paid was $200, which included the fee to come out. I highly recommend My Houston Locksmith. read more

This is place is friendly and kind. The people who work in this shop know what they are doing. I have been visited this store many time for many years, every time they resolve my issue and provided an explanation of the problem. The explanations help me understand what the cause is and how I can prevent. If something simple like tighten the core, and only take a minute, they did not charge you at all. I saw the tech after make the key copy for a car and walk with the customer to her car to make sure the key is working before letting the customer go. That is customer services. You will not get this kind the service from Home Depot or Lowes. read more

There are many other locksmiths in town, I wouldn't use this one. Full disclosure, I called Houston Locksmith before leaving this review, no real interest in addressing the issues. The locksmith gave me 10 minutes to arrive to the house, upon our arrival gave so much attitude we nearly asked him to leave. He worked like a pig, trash and tracking dirt and water everywhere, in and out of the house. He had a small vacuum, but that was no use for the mess he caused, then proceeded to thank us immensely for helping him pick up, but asked if he could borrow our broom and dust pan. We had a lot of work done, and I provided all the hardware needed, not sure why this had to be a debacle in the process. I will try a different locksmith next time I even think about needing another. read more
