Since last writing my review, I have spent $800 at Lowe's on plants because of 4 cents. I have a long memory.

Webster location; the ad clearly states 1/2 OFF ALL SHRUBS. I tried to purchase a SHRUB, 3 gallon Pride of Barbados. It rang up regular price and the clerk did nothing about it; he spoke no English so there was nothing I could do but leave. Poorly managed business! read more

Absolutely the most poorly managed business in Houston. Deceptive advertising, lack of management, lack of English-speaking workers which I assume makes it easier to defend the false and misleading advertising. I drive 170-plus miles to get to the I-45 store in Conroe, spend an hour picking out azaleas which are advertisied on their website, in the print advertising and on the marquee in front of the business as 10/$125. Very fair price. I go to check out and am told, in spanish, which I do understand to some degree, all plants have to be same. I point out that no where does it say that. A very threatening Hispanic male comes over and says it is company company. I ask to speak to el jefe. He tells me he is el jefe. I turn around walk out and leave. read more

Stopped at the Webster TX location. No one spoke English and they were not interested in helping in anyway.

Prices and inventory ok. Customer service horrible! Very little English no concern for consumers.

I stopped by briefly to ask about a specific shrub I was looking for. I asked someone at the register who then hollered at the other checkout register (lady) with my inquiry, who stated they only had the bigger shrub in 15 gallons outside the gate. Not knowing what I was looking for specifically, I asked well I'm really unclear what I'm looking for, thinking she'd offer to assist me, but she acted like it was an inconvenience. I left! You don't want to help me, I'm not spending my money with you. Thank you Home Depot, who took my call, transferred the call to her personal cellphone to walk out to the garden center and find what I was looking for. Then proceeded to give step by step instructions where to go in the garden to find my shrubs. Now that's customer service at its finest. I won't be back to your place....ever! Bought a Christmas tree there recently. Paid extra to have the water pan and stand nailed on. Got home and filled it with water and it leaks! All over our hardwood floors! Tried to contact them and no one will answer the phone and voicemail is full and there is no corporate number on their website. They clearly do not want to be contacted. read more

I'd leave zero stars if I could. I have spent A LOT of money at this location. Last week I bought a ton of plants and took them home and most of them look lovely. I lost 6 annuals and brought them back to this location with my receipt. I was told to call 7132180860 to speak with someone about a simple replacement. The female CSR with whom I spoke was not only unhelpful but RUDE beyond my imagination of a CSR. I will never do business with Houston Garden Center ever again. read more

I was looking for a trellis and asked the cashier who's wearing AirPods where they were and she gave me a blank stare... I asked her again and she just pointed to the back of the store and said "manager" and then proceeded to speak in Spanish to whoever she was on the phone and started laughing. There was no manager around. I just left because I'm not supporting that kind of customer service. read more

I stopped in yesterday to pick up a few plants for my pots. Not one person working there said ANYTHING to me...not "Good Morning" or " Can I help you find anything"? I am a stickler when it comes to customer service. The girls at the register were involved in conversation and did not even acknowledge me. It is because of this that I abandoned the plants I had in my cart and left. At the very least, your employees should greet patrons. read more

This is a case of I should have read the reviews. Bought a Christmas tree from here and I never will again. They sprayed a dried out tree dark green. 24 hours later needles were falling off the tree. It started looking like a Charlie Brown tree real quick. I just pray Christmas comes and everyone will over look the tree. Should have know something was wrong when they charge me for everything even the cut at the bottom of the tree. They lost a customer and all those I know. This is the worst experience I have had in years at any Houston Garden center There were 4 employees that I could find And after asking 3 separate times They completely refused And just pointed to an area with their hands Never ever looked up to even acknowledge my existence How disappointing There may have been 10 customers in the whole place This particular Houston garden center will never have to worry about my business again read more

Old white woman there could not keep her mouth closed about needing to bring a Spanish speaking employee over to assist me. I am Mexican American I was born here in Houston. Never in my life have I encountered someone so rude in Houston. Just completely out of the blue she was kept piling on that I needed instruction in Spanish. It was an older white woman that's heavy set hope she loses her job everyone else there is friendly, but I am never buying at any Houston garden center again. read more

In part because the sign said it was $16.99, I chose a 3-gallon gardenia bush over some other bushes. On the way to the car, I saw on the receipt that I was charged $19.99 for the gardenia. I returned to the cashier, and she shrugged and said that was what it rang up. She asked another employee what to do and returned with the same shrug and explanation. (Most stores make good on their sale signs, even if they were supposed to have been removed by then.) As the store has a no-return policy, I also could not just tell her to credit my account because I no longer wanted it. I don't know if the cashiers have no training in correcting an error or if that is just store policy: get someone to buy something because they think it is cheaper than what they will be charged. read more

My boxwoods in the front of my yard had some dead spots and I took a picture and went to Houston Garden Centers to show an associate and the young lady knew exactly what it was and showed me exactly what to purchase, when and how often to treat the bushes, I had alot of other plant and lawn related questions and she and other members of their staff were extremely knowledgeable and so helpful. Everything I purchased was exactly everything that I was needing. They also have such an enormous selection on flowers, plants, trees, etc. And their prices can not be beat! I recommend this store 1000%!! read more

Buyer Beware! Houston Garden Center will not stand behind their sales. I understand that plants are not refundable, but pots, borders, and tools are not! No where is it posted or told to you when you purchase an item that it is NOT IS RETURNABLE OR FOR EXCHANGE. So when I went to return two rolls of unused border, I was told all sales are final. Even though I spent oven $300 in plants but returning $40 in border is NOT permitted. I should of went somewhere else... read more
