2019: Another Christmas and still only three checkers open. Extremely long lines and very understaffed at the checkout. This makes absolutely no sense at a store of this size. There are only about 6 registers for the store but everyone of them should be open. 2018: Just a few days before Christmas and there are only three registers open and the isles are a mess (that I kind of get but only three registers open I do not). There was at least 20 people in line and no effort to get more staff to check out customers.

I only go into this store 2-3x per year. This time I noticed that while looking at dish racks, that some were priced higher than others even though they were identical. Then I noticed the more expensive ones had a sticker placed over the original price tag, marking up the price. That's when I started looking around and found nearly all items were marked up with these price stickers placed over the original price tag. Everything was marked up approximately 20%. When checking out, I showed the mark up to the cashier and she explained inflation and cost of gas, and I politely declined the items based on principle. Clearly the older items in the store were marked up, items ordered/purchased prior to inflation and high gas prices and have been sitting on the shelves for months whereas newer Fall and Halloween items had inflation built into the prices already. Sneaky, At Home. Not to mention the prices are already high. You can find half these things at other big box stores for cheaper. You can even find some items at dollar stores for a fraction of the price. I think I'm done shopping here.

I love this store! It gives me good ideas on revamping my place and other people. Awhhh... And it smells sooooo good! Like pomegranate lemonade.... Your able to take your time and go from isle to isle looking and filling your basket with all kinds of beautiful paintings, oversize pillows, rugs, dishes, and the list goes on and on! Yeah I'm all about details. And its pretty clean to be such a big store.

This store is huge and has aloooooooooot of stuff . I didn't need anything and I didn't get anything but if I needed something sure I Could find something. There was a few things I saw I liked but 100% didn't need

Poorly made picture frame

I've purchased things from this store on 3 separate occasions in the last 3 years and all of it has broken apart in some way. My world atlas picture fell off the wall because the wood split where the wire hanger fixes to the frame and it came from the store "ready-to-hang" so it's not like I installed the wire wrong, it was already installed bybthe manufacturer. My 3 bar stools have all broken apart simply from sitting on it. One time was myself a fairly average sized man and again by a 5yr old that was simply sitting down to color. I threw the 3rd in the trash. My cooking utensils at this point have either snapped or separated from the handle and I purchased enough supplies to stock my whole kitchen. Ikea has better stuff and better prices. I'll drive the extra hour to get better made things. This store SUCKS!

Cushions

This store is horrible. I drove over an hour to pick up these cushions at curbside to get home to some filthy dirty cushions someone must have returned to the store and they had the audacity to resale them!!! Never again

Since the purchase, we have experienced numerous problems and have had the couch exchanged five separate times. At this point, we are seeking appropriate compensation for the continued inconvenience. Each time we contact customer service, we are told there is no one higher up available to speak with. As someone who works in sales, I find that very difficult to believe--there is always a next level of escalation. Being offered a $200 credit on a $3,500 purchase, after everything we've dealt with, feels extremely inadequate and frankly quite insulting. In addition to the repeated issues with the product itself, we have had to miss work multiple times to accommodate delivery windows, all while working around your company's schedule. The overall customer service experience has been very disappointing, and we have not been provided with any meaningful resolution or a way to connect with someone who has the authority to help. Please advise on how I can escalate this matter to corporate or to a manager with the authority to properly address and resolve this situation. I would appreciate a prompt response.

They are on parr with much more expensive retailers and would venture to say they exceed them without the diminishing returns. We have purchased from plenty of other big box stores in the past and Arhuas blew them away. The entire process and staff have been awesome apart from having to wait a while to receive our furniture but was very standard during the pandemic. We recently had an issue with our protection plan not initially being applied correctly and the team at Baybrook went above and beyond to rectify the issue immediately. Both the regional manager Christopher Mendyka and store manager Sutton Lindsey were super stars in making it right. They went outside of a normal response of deflecting the issue on the customer and offered solutions which is a rarity in today's world when it comes to customer service. I whole heartedly recommend shopping here without hesitation and want to say thanks to that entire team.

They refuse to refund my money. Customer service was a nightmare. I highly recommend if you need furniture to consider gallery furniture. I have always used gallery and been 100% satisfied. If I only would have known the showroom couch Was not the same as the warehouse couch. One star is too good for my experience at star furniture. Don't bother calling the president as recommended on the brochure you just get circled back to customer service who have scripted responses. If I only read yelp reviews about star furniture Clear lake and saw 90% were only 1star I wouldn't be writing this review.

UPDATE: After posting my earlier review (below), I was contacted by Star Furniture. Star's…read morerepresentatives informed me that the reason for how long it takes for the repair parts to arrive is that they need to come from overseas and are shipped via boat. I was also informed that while the parts showed as delivered, they could not be found and obtaining replacement parts again would take much more time. To resolve the issue, Star offered to replace the sofa and did so in late February. The customer service representative who contacted me was extremely professional and courteous, as were the delivery personnel who delivered the replacement. I am extremely pleased that Star Furniture was able to resolve the issue and offered to replace the damaged sofa. It is still unfortunate that it took my original review below rather than the phone calls to resolve the issue. However, given that I was always very happy with Star Furniture before this one issue and that Star was able to resolve it, I will consider purchasing from Star again in the future. I am updating my rating based on Star resolving this issue. ORIGINAL: In September 2024, I purchased a Dexter 2-seat leather love seat with console in middle for drink covers. Sliding console didn't quite work right from day 1 (noticed by delivery personnel), and then wouldn't open after about 3 weeks. Called in service order. Technician that came out broke cover and put large tear in the leather. Was told they'd order parts and come out and repair everything under warranty, with it taking 3 weeks to 90 days. It is now longer than that and still no parts. Every time I call, I'm told parts are either on order - today, I was told parts have yet to be ordered -- and it now takes at least 120 days to get repairs. I'm being told it will likely be another 30 days minimum. So, I have new item that was damaged, technician damaged it further, and can't get resolution. Guess its time to look at legal options for resolving these issues since Star Furniture not helpful at all. Never had problems with them in the past, but will not buy from Star in the future.

I have purchased multiple rooms of furniture from this store in the past. Recently, I ordered an…read moreottoman to match one of my sofas online. The website let me select store pick up and this store location. An order was generated listing this store and emailed to me, which gave this store credit for the sale. When the ottoman came in, I was given a call to pick it up at the warehouse in Katy. This location is pretty inconvenient for me especially when I ordered for pick up at Friendswood Store per website. The warehouse people couldn't help me and I was forced to call the store to try to make my own arrangements to pick up in the store like the original order stated. Again, after some time on the phone with the store, I was allowed to pick up in store and the impression was this was a big favor to me. Remember this is how the order was placed online. Next, when my wife went to pick up the ottoman she told them it was the wrong color (not what we ordered to match the sofa). They insisted she was mistaken and instead of checking with in store swatches sent her to drive home with it. As thought, It was the wrong color and not what we ordered. Now, she had to drive it back to the store. There they tried to convince her that it wasn't the darker of the 2 fabric options but rather a variation in the dye kit that looked exactly like the wrong color. LMAO. Anyway, she asked them to get the swatches to compare and of course it was the other color. They did us a favor and waived the restocking fee for their mistakes. Oh, they are too kind. I will update whether or not I get the full credit for the cancelled ordered. At this price point, the customer service should be better than Walmart not worse. Your going to need a lot of free time to order with Bassett and you'll feel like you should be mailed a check for doing their work for them. This should have been handled completely differently and I am considering selling my stock if this is the manor they conduct business in as I can't see them being open much longer.
