It's Asian owned and you can tell they really care for the plants. It's quite big and has anything you need for indoor or outdoor plants. Joseph's Nursery was exactly what I needed after a tough season. I lost 36 plants I had cared for over the years, and walking in here felt like a fresh start. The selection is huge and beautifully maintained. My wife and I were drawn to a fiddle leaf fig and a Bird of Paradise--both came home with us and are already thriving after a little leaf cleaning. I also found two gorgeous pots to complete the look (my new rule: every newbie gets clothes ). I've been coming to this nursery for years without any major issues. While the service has never been especially friendly, the plant selection has always made up for it. Today (7/2/25), I had an experience that completely changed my view. The store was nearly empty when I arrived. At checkout, I waited patiently for 3-4 minutes while an employee sat nearby working. She didn't acknowledge me, which I assumed meant someone else would be helping me. Then, three women entered and walked straight to the counter. They spoke to the same employee in another language, and she immediately got up to assist them. I stayed a few moments after they left, expecting some acknowledgment--but the employee returned to her seat without a word, ignoring me and the large plant I had in hand. I understand that there may have been a language barrier, but there are basic ways to let someone know if help is on the way or if you're unavailable. It was a simple transaction, and she clearly had the ability to assist. I've never felt so blatantly dismissed as a customer. While I could guess at the reasons behind the treatment, I won't waste the energy. I've spent a lot at Joseph's over the years and recommended it to others--but after today, I won't be back. read more

Uhhh I used to love this place, but now it's more of a hit or miss for me. I visited last year during covid times and got me a pothos. I bought it home and little did I know it was harboring home of mealybugs. That pothos infected all my houseplants. I had to take a quick approach to eliminate the mealybugs infestation that was happening in my room all because I bought my pothos from here. Check y'all plants before purchasing!!! A devastating situation! However, before this incident I bought a mature dieffenbachia. It was good and it's adapting very well in my plant family. I visited in spring 2021 and I picked up some Asian mint which is growing wonderfully!! I've noticed in the main greenhouse there isn't as much plants. The aisles are extremely narrow and after mask mandates ruled out. Let's just say people ain't wearing their masks and it is very crowded. So be ultra careful! Last time I went the milkweed was covered in aphids and spider mites. The health of the plants are pretty questionable. This nursery has most plants that a few big box nurseries don't have. They do have a lot of Asian varieties that you wouldn't usually find anywhere else. read more

I shop there 3x to buy a bulk of their potting soil (10-15 bags at a time) . I am an elderly fragile woman that likes to garden. Whenever I go there those two Asian ladies always tells me that I HAVE to load the 40 lbs bags of potting soil myself and that they do not have help that day. I told them I do not have the strength to load it up on my truck cause it is high but I can unload it easy cause it will just slide down on my yard. They insist that I have to do it myself or they said I need to go to Wall mart or Home depot to buy the soil. I paid and went outside and found 2 guys that work there in their 4 wheeler and they helped me. Those women has no MERCY‼wont go there again! read more

In my most recent visit to Josephs I bought a lovely key lime tree, cilantro, and guava plant. They had various options to select from these three plants. Yes, one week before December. That's Texas for you. The business is Asian family owned and is evident in some of their outdoor decor and plant selections. They have dragonfruit and sugar apple fruits here! Price is also very fair. I've visited nursery's inside the loop near the Heights/Montrose area and have seen the same plant in a smaller size priced more than double than its price at Josephs! That said, I always save my nursery visits for Josephs. We love Joseph's Nursery. Bought tomato plants and a beautiful Desert Rose plant. The Plumerias were on sale....but I have enough.

This place is a treat for those who enjoy the greener things in life. It's a bit out of the way from basically everything and everywhere. Seems to be family owned and operated, Though I could be wrong about that. They've always beens super nice me. Most of my flower bed, and half of my garden came from here. They have a wide selection of both pretty plants, and fruit bearing. Their inventory is humongous. The greenhouse extends well beyond what customers have access to, so they have fresh stock on the regs. I'll post a picture once my new additions settle in. I like that they wrap your plants up. Specializes in flowers and trees; no grass or lawn related items. They do have a good selection and plenty of each kind. They have men to help with loading but as usual, you do need to know what you want because knowledgeable staff is rare as hens' teeth. Very good prices! read more

Nice local nursery! I visited today with my son (18 months old). When I pulled in the parking lot-I realized I didn't have a stroller and even if I did-it would be difficult to carry all the flowers I was hoping to get and push my son. Anyway, I decided to carry my son and boy it was not easy to try to pull the metal cart and load flats of flowers, lol. A sweet employee watering flowers near by immediately came over and starting helping me. She loaded my flowers and helped with the wagon. On top of this-the flowers here are great quality and you get way more for such a low price compare to places like Lowe's or Home Depot. I will definitely be back. I was told that this nursery is good for herbs. I headed straight over after being told this. They close at 5:00. I arrived shortly before 4:40, planning on getting in and out very quickly. When I entered the store, the greeting I received, from the employee walking past me, was, "We close at 5:00". Rude. I asked that same employee where the mint is located. She continued walking and pointed far down the aisle to where a group of other customers were standing, and told me, "By them, on the left." Rude again. The labeling on plants on the ends of the aisles are easy to spot as they're right at the edge of the walkway. Other plant labels, that are further down the aisles, are not as easy to spot. Luckily, mint is easy to identify, so after walking down a couple of aisles near "them, on the left." I found it easily. They have many vegetable and fruit options, including papaya and a variety of peppers. I'll be back when I have time to look around. Hopefully customer service will be better, and I can change my rating from 3 stars to 4. We'll see. read more

If your a novice and have questions about plants, may not be the best place for you since the workers aren't very helpful or give suggestions on how to keep plants alive. Could I give this place -1 star? I was so disappointed. My husband and I decided to go there since they have pretty good reviews on Yelp. It took us 40' to go to the place today. We came and stood there for a long time. We knew that they were busy. Then we looked around and picked two orchid plants. Nobody even asked us or helped us with anything. Finally, a lady (I guess she's the owner) asked if we were ready. I said I would like to ask something. "Ask what?" She's super rude. I wanted to combine two orchid pots to a bigger one. (We were willing to buy a new pot.) She cut me off and said rudely again "We don't do it here. Have no time. Too busy. Like any just buy." OMG! She made us so pissed off. We left there forever. Btw, I'm so glad that we left the place to go to another nursery. We got better quality, better price and no attitude. read more

We have purchased our flowers from Joseph's Nursery for many years....I always neglect to do a review - this time I have a moment and would like to say that the flowers are ALWAYS beautiful and of excellent quality and the staff are courteous, friendly and we are in and out of there with our order of nearly 80 plants in under 20 minutes! Horrible customer service. Large selection of plants. Almost considered not purchasing plants from here because of the rude staff. Asked one of the ladies to tell me bit more about the plants, but she barely gave any information. I wanted to purchase 4 small trees and 4 crates of flowering plants from this store. I came into the store at high noon on a very hot day (a mistake on my part), and I asked one of the ladies to help me transport the trees that I wanted from one end of the nursery to the parking lot. I just needed one person to hold the door, or even drop the trees I wanted closer to the front of the store. She refused and claimed all her employees were busy, even when I saw four socializing in the corner. Also, I was the only customer in the store at the time. While most her employees were indoors, I was forced to carry each one of the trees alone and make several trips to my car, when it could have been done with one or two with a help of one additional person. I don't know who came to this establishment and claimed they had great service. The women working here are not willing to help you, and are too busy minding their own business. I would only recommend coming here if you already have an idea of what you want to buy and do not need any assistance. Bring a friend if you plan on purchasing multiple plants. read more

This is my go to local nursery for everything I need for gardening projects . I don't know how their prices compare to other large chains, but I would prefer to keep my money and my business in Pearland. The staff is very helpful, contrary to some of these reviewers. Large selection of plants and you can't beat the prices! I'm turning into the plant lady and they typically have every plant I want/need. I had been searching high and low for a rubber plant and here they ranged from $14.99 to $19.99. This one place I went to in Houston wanted $40 for a rubber plant that was literally half the size of the one I got at Joseph's Nursery! Also, all of the plants are well taken care of which is an extra bonus. read more

After spending almost $4,000 (see invoice attached) in 13 trees I thought they were going to be more comprehensive or understanding. Two of the trees died and we did a deep research on why this could have happened. We did not find out any cause on our end. The rest of the trees are perfectly fine (see picture attached). Our last resource was going back to the nursery and seek for help or a mutual resolution. I did stop by to buy two more trees as I know ALL SALES ARE FINAL, therefore I was not looking for a refund or return, but to find a decent discount. Well after much discussion they just offered discount of $10, which I thought was not aligned to our expectations and being such a great customer for the past year. As a business owner you have to stick to your policies, but you can also make exceptions for weird cases like ours and find a mutual understanding, which was not the case, unfortunately. read more

They have a wonderful selection of plants and Asian herbs. Their staff varies is friendliness but I can't rate them low based on customer service. (Although customer service would've bumped their rating to a 5) I go to a nursery to find healthy plants and that's all I really care for at the end of the day. read more

The cashiers are so rude and lazy, they can't even bother coming around the counter to count which plants we have on our cart and make us do it ourselves while they just sit there. When we didn't see a small plant underneath one of the bigger plants, they start muttering in Vietnamese that we are blind and are trying to steal. GUYS. when i'm in the planting mood, i can spend HOURS on end walking around looking at everything. this place is HUUUUGE! and WELL KEPT! you can tell they take great pride and care in taking care of their plants. they have a pretty good stock and varieties of fruit trees, and exotic ones too. a pomelo tree? june plum? persimmon? starfruit? this is all stuff my grandma would kill for to have in her backyard. i've never seen a nursery SOOOO large and well-kept in my life until now. they're super knowledgeable too, as my aunt had asked them a question about using some fertilizer for her tomato plants and they gave us some pretty good advice. also, the owners KNOW their regulars by name. i was impressed! love this place! and YES, its worth the drive. read more

The plants are great, very healthy-looking as far as I could tell, but the people were super rude to me, speaking over my head as if I weren't standing right there. One woman even shook her head at me and said, "No," when I tried to interject before turning back to the other woman she was talking to. I have no idea what they were talking about, but they made it very clear that I, a customer, was intruding and not welcome. This occurred at the check out counter as I was attempting to pay. I drove 30 minutes after work to see if they had milkweed, in particular, for my monarch caterpillars. I walked the front of the property where the tropicals were located, in business clothes and high heels, and did not see any. I walked inside to ask the lady if she had any and she pointed to the same location that I walked and said, "far back row, behind so and so plant..." I went to get my own cart, loaded about six bushel of milkweed and no one even offered assistance. The lady was nice at checkout but I really could have used help loading my vehicle... I really didn't care at this point because I had been looking all over Houston for milkweed! They should really offer assistance to their customers.
