Houston Bamboo Nursery is the BEST! They have wonderful plants, and are very helpful when trying to decide what type of bamboo is best for your vision. I bought my bamboo 3-4 years ago and it has grown well. I just recently had HOUSTON Bamboo Nursery to trim It. What a difference it made. I am so excited about the bamboo and how it looks. I trust Houston Bamboo and will do business with them again! Thank you Thomas!! read more

Terrible customer service, as you can see from Houston Bamboo's replies to negative reviews, they take no accountability. My former neighbor used them and they either did not show up for his scheduled maintenance or failed to do proper maintenance (even though they were informed ahead of time of the issues). Bamboo is growing through, not just over, adjoining fences into neighboring yards and damaging property. I have reached out to them multiple times to address the issue their lack of maintenance has caused and, as you can guess from their track record, there has been zero response. read more

My sprinkler system needed to be restored after the recent freeze. The Bamboo Team arrived on time and restored the system. It required a new timer, some connections and 20 minutes to make sure everything was connected correctly. A great job (as always) ! read more

Don't let the dead end street and overgrown entrance deter you from going in! I almost left but glad I didn't! I had the best help and experience with buying bamboo from this nursery! Never got the owners names but I sent them a few texts with questions and they still are willing to help me. Great local business! There yard man was the best. He took his time to explain the bamboo and exactly how I needed to plant my bamboo. read more

Spent 5k. Purchased the policy and self watering irrigation system. All bamboo is dead. Total waste of money. This is a complete rip-off. They come up with every excuse under the sun to not replace these dead plants. Save your money and shop elsewhere. read more

We were looking for some bamboo for our yard and the bf found Houston Bamboo Nursery because none of the garden centers around town had what he was looking for. We were specifically looking for clumping bamboo that didn't grow super tall cause we wanted it as a fence line. He wanted the Golden Goddess bamboo which grows in clumps and only to about 10-15 feet. We called and texted the Houston Bamboo Nursery and they told us they had what we were looking for AND were open amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. They're actually located in the middle of nowhere, with their own private driveway marked private property. We were the only ones visiting that day, and one of the workers manning the nursery and all the plants. This place probably was well maintained at some point but when we went, it was pretty run down. The bamboo hut was pretty cool but needed some TLC. The bamboo was marked well and they had some very impressive bamboo variety! They had the bamboo with the giant stalks and they were so visually stunning. The nursery was large and probably the only place in Houston that carries everything you could need along the lines of the bamboo family! Our Golden Goddess' were a bit sparse and didn't look like they were maintained very well - but apparently once we plant them and water them, they told us it'll grow like weeds. Hopefully that's the case cause we couldn't find them elsewhere and ended up leaving with 9 pots! Wish I could grow some of those giant ones that grow to 100ft with the giant stalks but sadly we don't have room for that in the city. We'll probably be back for more soon! Customer service was fantastic - guy working was super nice and helpful, as was the friendly dog roaming around looking for lovin! read more

I wrote a one star review because no one was returning phone calls. When they finally reached out to me I discovered that they had been out on vacation for a week and the person they left in charge, who's been let go, never returned the calls she was supposed too. Since they reached out, they handled my order very professionally, responded promptly, and gave me the price quotes I needed. They apologized for the lack of service, the mistake and took care of everything. I used them years ago and never had any issues at all, so I was surprised when I encountered the service issues. After hearing what happened it makes sense and they resolved it to where I am very satisfied. read more

I bought and paid for installation for 15 of the 10 foot tall plants ($150 apiece) and they were installed mid March. 6 of them are dead. I was told there was a replacement guarantee. I have been calling and emailing with no response. I have sent pictures and video. No Response. Multiple attempts at communication read more

Unethical business with unscrupulous business practices. Their customer service is nonexistent. They charge for bamboos that they promise to care for, but instead let wither away and die! read more

For anyone who has had to take care of bamboo, you'll appreciate the work the staff at amazon bamboo put in to take care of your bamboo plants. After the above ground part of my bamboo died for a second time in 2 years due to the unusual freeze we experienced here in Houston, we were fortunate enough to come across Amazon bamboo. They initially came out to cut back our dead bamboo to the exact height we wanted (to still allow for privacy while the bamboo started to grow back), a task I wish on no one. We then signed up for their monthly program which means they come out 4 times a year to take care of our bamboo which involves; trimming, fertilising, mulching and anything else they need to do to keep the bamboo in tip top shape. They have been back twice already for the winter and spring treatments. Before coming out they send us a very detailed email about what to expect during this season with the bamboo, and what they will be doing. Overall I am very satisfied and extremely happy we found Amazon bamboo. Their prices are very reasonable, and they are very responsive to emails or text messages. Don't hesitate to contact them if you, like me, have spent years trying to constantly take care of your bamboo, and neglecting the rest of your yard. You won't regret it! read more

Do not order online from them. Their online customer service is terrible. They sent me someone else's order. I have been trying to get them to correct it or refund my money. They don't answer phone calls and don't respond to text messages or emails either. When I reached out to them through PayPal I was told they had email problems, that didn't explain their inability to answer phone calls or text messages. I was told they would correct the order in 1 to 2 business days. That was over a week ago. Once again they are unreachable. I wish I had of checked all the review sites first, as mine is not the first complaint about their bad online service. read more

Since we moved into our new home a couple of years ago we have wanted to line our back fence line with a clumping bamboo for privacy and to green up our space. I loved this nursery because they have every kind of bamboo (and other kinds of plants) you could ever want in different stages of growth. Armando was so helpful in helping me to pick out what we needed. We purchased 29 bamboo plants and the compost dirt mixture they use. They delivered and planted our Green Hedge bamboo and the one Weaver Bamboo I'm using as a focal point. The workers were very courteous and professional and even took the time to put our grass in other areas where it was needed. I also purchased a gallon size of the black bamboo I haven't been able to find in any local nursery for our patio area. They have a very good variety and their web-site is also educational. After our bamboo forms a nice hedge, I will update and post some pictures. read more
