When my hubby and I were talking about getting a pet, he talked a lot about the bunny he'd had as a kid.

In the email I specified that I was happy to come in and requested that they call me. They wrote back saying that I could only visit after my application was approved and they did not call me although their website states they do a phone interview. They simply said to fill out the application that was attached. I filled out the application and they apparently reviewed it, called my personal reference and then proceeded to reject me without ever talking on the phone with me. I thought they should treat people with some more respect if they claim to treat animals this way. They said their reasons for rejection are confidential but I fail to understand given I have subsequently been accepted at another shelter.

I was so upset and distraught that so much issues and health had been over looked and not treated for. This poor kitten had not been provided proper medical attention and was with another cat and my dog. I felt so bad for this poor kitten but also the other animals in my home. I love rescuing and have had great luck with other shelters, but would not recommend this one as they do not have a proper process in place for rescuing, treating, and processing animals. :(

They don't pay attention to the dogs well-being nearly enough, for example we have been leaving our puppy there and have told them that he is having diarrhea but every time we pick him up and ask if his poop was normal they says, "oh yeah, everything was fine" or "I don't know, I didn't work with him" and then when he gets home he continues to have diarrhea. They don't interact with their clients at all, at the end of the day they are just telling you what you need to hear to leave them alone. The only positive thing I can say is that our puppy comes home looking happy and he is tired from playing. Edit: 3 days after posting this review, instead of reaching out to me they called and tried to bully my fiancee into changing it deleting this review. Rather than addressing the issues she just denied any problems and ended up just making my fiancee upset.

I'm trying to find the right words to adequately praise Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital…read more(MVRH), its staff, and Dr. Kelly Larabee, an Emergency Physician whose compassion and professionalism made an extraordinarily difficult day more bearable. While traveling from northern New Hampshire to Boston, we stopped in Woburn and discovered that one of our very elderly dogs could no longer get out of the car on her own. When she finally did, her rear legs collapsed beneath her. In addition to the weakness in her hind legs, she was breathing rapidly and drooling excessively. As a longtime dog owner, I recognized the look in her eyes immediately--the look that says, "It's time." Fortunately, we were less than a mile from Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital, a Level 1, 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. We arrived without an appointment and were met by a team that was immediately welcoming, compassionate, and remarkably efficient. It was clear from the moment we walked through the door that MVRH has built a system of care designed to deliver expert treatment with both urgency and empathy. Our dog was promptly brought into the treatment area and made comfortable. Shortly thereafter, we met Dr. Kelly Larabee, whose kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern were evident from our first conversation. Dr. Larabee confirmed what we had feared but already suspected--that the time had come for our beloved companion to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully. Dr. Larabee and her team brought an extraordinary degree of humanity to veterinary emergency medicine. They treated our dog with dignity, tenderness, and respect, as though she were a member of their own family. During one of the most difficult moments a pet owner can experience, they provided not only exceptional medical care but also comfort and compassion for us. I am not sure the average pet owner--or member of the public--fully appreciates the expertise, systems of care, and operational excellence that make an institution like Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital function so effectively. Having spent much of my career in process engineering, I was deeply impressed by both the efficiency of their operations and the quality of care they delivered. Every aspect of our experience reflected a well-designed system staffed by highly skilled professionals who never lost sight of the human and emotional side of their work. Dr. Larabee and the entire MVRH team were as compassionate as they were capable, and as caring as they were efficient. Their professionalism and humanity turned a heartbreaking day into one marked by dignity, peace, and gratitude. We would all be fortunate to receive the same standard of care in human medicine.

NIcole's review is filled with erroneous lies about the conditions at talgere's and the condition of his dogs. There are no deformed dogs, no dogs with multiple medical conditions or abused dogs on his premises. I have been lucky enough to receive 3 older dogs from Tony and they were all sweet, healthy dogs. Our little pug Jessie in fact lived to be 16. I also met the vet who delivers Talgere pups and provides general care to his dogs and he spoke very highly of Tony. I recenlty adopted a beautiful 5 year old Boston Boy and he is sweet, affetionate, playful and handsome...hardly what you would expect if the conditions described by Nicole were true. It is interesting to note that Nicole has written other scathing reviews about other agencies on yelp, such as Topsfield fair.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at PetSmart…read more I took my dog to a scheduled appointment at the Banfield Pet Hospital located inside the store. Since Banfield was open, I had to enter through PetSmart, which is the only way to access the clinic. When I was leaving after my appointment, I briefly stopped to look at a dog collar that caught my attention. Immediately, an employee approached me in a very rude and aggressive manner and told me to leave because the store was closed. I explained that I was only there because my dog had a scheduled Banfield appointment and that I was already on my way out. I also told him there was no reason to be so rude. Instead of calming down, he continued to treat me with disrespect and hostility all the way to the exit. I have never felt so unwelcome and mistreated as a customer. Because of this experience, I will never spend another dollar at PetSmart. I am also considering switching my dog's veterinary plan so that I never have to return to a location where customers are treated so poorly. It is unacceptable for employees to speak to people this way, especially those who are simply attending a scheduled veterinary appointment. PetSmart should do a much better job training employees on basic customer service and respect.
