Service was good (Phil). This is a hamburger restaurant. They have bison, Elk, Venison for a premium price and beef for a lesser price. I've had bison steak before, so I knew it was a bland tasting meat, so I tried venison burger for the first time. Same outcome, bland meat. Good thing there was bacon on top to give my burger some flavor . Definitely not worth the $23.00 . Stick with the beef for $12.00 . The French fries were mainly one inch long and easier to eat using a fork, they tasted good but difficult to eat with fingers. A 4% extra charge for credit card use. (Sorry Phil, the boss got part of your tip) I will eat the again if I want to pay $12.00 for a hamburger and fries but I wasn't impressed to say , WoW!! Great ambiance, such a cute spot. The food was great, the buffalo chicken dip was so tasty. I love that they have a flight option for the beer. The s'mores lava cake was moist, but wasn't the best. Service was so-so. We were seated downstairs and the bartender was our waitress. Not sure it they were understaffed, but we were waiting a while for the waitress to come back. We went in really excited to try a new place with a "Top 100 Burger" and a really cool ambiance. We left very disappointed. We ordered a mid rare burger ($18), the spicy chicken sandwich ($17), and a side of fries ($7) because the sandwiches don't come with anything. I thought it was all really good. My wife thought the chicken sandwich was dry and it seemed like we got the bottom of the barrel or fries (mostly small pieces less than 1") The service was REALLY lacking. She came took our drink orders. Brought my beer and my wife's mule, but no waters. No ketchup for fries, pretty standard. Server came and checked on us before we took a bite of food and then not again until about 10 minutes after we were finished eating. I had seen on the specials sign at the table that there was a 4% charge for credit cards, but our check had the added charge before the waitress knew if we would be paying or cash or not. I had never been to House before, but it has been on my radar for a long time, so I was shocked when I found out this place had become a hamburger restaurant. The menu is just appetizers, salads and sandwiches now, nothing else. The Farm to table restaurant that use to be located at House and Barn is no more. There is nothing wrong with burgers so we decided to give this place a try anyway. The food was good but not great. We both enjoyed the burgers but we have had better. The décor of this place is very nice, almost too nice for this type of restaurant. My big problem with this place and what drops it down from a 4 star to a 3 star is that no sides come with the sandwiches, not even chips, that is not that big of a deal and I have no problem paying separately for sides but the menu never tells you that and the server that took our order never told us either, so when our food came out it was just some sad burgers on a plate with nothing else. They were also very stingy with the condiments, no salt, no pepper, no ketchup given for the order, just emptiness. Service wasn't what we expected either. Definitely worth another visit. Food and drinks are a winner! I had a fried chicken burger (the other option was grilled) with blue cheese and coleslaw. I dodgy realise how strong the blue cheese would be! It was delicious but I personally think I would have enjoyed it without the blue cheese. Again, this is a personal preference. Attached to Barn. Fine dining. A nice menu with good variety. We started with the Oysters on the half, nicely chilled and fresh. Also came with the truffle frites - could have a little bit more truffle oil to it but still pretty good. The lamb lollipop's were seasoned perfectly and cooked to the right temp. Nice tender and juicy. The scallops were great too. Weren't over cooked. I wish there were more on the plate though. Good selection of wines, drinks, cocktails and cordials. I can find no fault with this experience! Lets start with the best part, the BBQ old fashioned! Hurry and go try it because it's seasonal. It was so good and so creative, I would love to go back at other times of year to try more of their super interesting drink menu. I see some others saying that the price is a little high for the drinks, and for the area it may be (I am not a local). But for the creativity and flavor, I think it's worth it! The House setting is very quaint and cute and quiet enough that you can hear your conversation. Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my stomach, but we had the buffalo chicken dip (don't sleep on this classic, it was great), pierogis, fries, and Green Terror burger. The burger was great and they have such a selection and variety of meats that if you are a burger fan at least give this place a try. Ample parking, and seems like a really fun spot in the warmer months to grab a cocktail and enjoy all the property has to offer. read more

Very homey. We sat outside, on the beautiful patio with a view of the grounds, but walking through the House you could see the different rooms and charismatic art pieces (think tattooed suspender dressed up men with wild boar heads). As for the menu. Well. If you don't like burgers. Don't come. However, ANYONE could find something on this menu as the burgers themselves range from Kobe beef, to ostrich, to tuna, to veggie! And a range of themes/toppings placed gently on top. However the most extensive section is the Kobe beef. For example, I got the only Elk burger on the menu. The price point is a little higher, and the sides (fries, sweet potato fries, coleslaw) are all a separate fee. So essentially my burger and fries cost me $22 dollars. But overall it was delicious, and for a night out worth it. I also asked for the burger as rare as target were allowed to cook it.. check out the photos. They nailed it my friend is disgusting and asked for well done, but let's ignore that. The tap list isn't the best here, so don't expect much, and there are only a few cocktails. However my friend asked for a custom drink and it was delicious (Shirley temple with a shot of coconut rum, fresh homemade grenadine and black cherries!). Salads were undersized for the price, didn't appear to use fresh ingredients, and they charged us extra to swap out a dressing. My better half and I went during brunch hours one Sunday. It wasn't too busy and the staff was very friendly. I was also a fan of the furniture style and decorations throughout the establishment. We didn't know they had a patio area before sitting down but from the window we could see that it was enjoyed by its patrons. I ordered the chicken and waffles but asked for French toast to substitute my waffle. They were happy to do so. My lady had the crab eggs Benedict with bacon. The bacon was a bit salty for my taste and was a bit over cooked but everything else was delightful. I was also a big fan of the complimentary breakfast scones we received before the meal. read more

Had dinner with a group of friends. They were accommodating and gave us a big square table for 10 which we loved. The food was great. Everyone was really happy with appetizers through dessert. Crab and avocado spring rolls are amazing and you get a large portion. Pork chop was HUGE!! Salmon also a great pick. A few got the duck and were a bit underwhelmed. For dessert we all got sorbet and ice creams. Large scoops and about 10 options!!! Our only negative thing to say about this place was out service was sub par. We ordered wine for the table and a few cocktails. It took over 20 minutes for our wine to arrive! She actually took our food order before the wine came, which I felt was a bit off? The barn-aesthetic was really intriguing, not fabricated or artificial like most gimmicky spots in nearby cities. A great way to repurpose a landmark or local establishment in a tasteful way. Great outdoor space for cocktails in the evening. Drinks were expensive, $14 a rattle for most craft cocktails. This place had live music at just the right level. The space outside is stunning and feels very private, even though it's right off a main road. I did not eat here, I was only here to meet a friend for a couple cocktails. House, without question, instantly became one of the Lehigh Valley's best restaurants when it opened in the latter half of 2016. As with most new openings, we typically give it a few weeks to work out any kinks before visiting, and finally had a chance to check it out in mid-November. Simply put, the food was amazing. The dishes were inspired, creative, and progressive. Presentation was some of the best I've experienced in a long time, while the execution was flawless. Even simple-sounding options like the sausage dish reached far beyond expectations. House is a small plate restaurant - one of the first for the Lehigh Valley region. I was excited to learn this, because ordering several smaller things is typically how I dine anyway. Your server will likely ask if you've dined with them previously, and then explain the small plate concept. Portion sizes are somewhere in the appetizer realm. This leads me to my only concern about House: Price. House is expensive, and borders on prohibitively so. Is the experience worth it? Absolutely. Our dinner was one of the best we've had in a long time. However, with the small plate concept still foreign to the area, my worry is that the majority of people will scoff at the prospect of paying $15 for a dish containing a single scallop. I enjoyed House immensely, and want to see it succeed so that I can come back again and again for years to come. If House's management kept pricing the same, but moved to a no-tip format like 187 Rue Principale, the cost would surely be justified. read more

I pass this place on my run everyday and have been so excited to finally try it -- and I was not disappointed. I took my mom with me and she loved it as well. First off, this place is beautiful. The restaurant is tucked away off the main road just a little bit in this neat, old stone barn. Whoever did the design to update this place has a great eye all the way down to the details. All of the design elements enhanced and flowed with the existing barn. Some of the light fixtures were just *so* cool inside. We were seated outside on the patio, which was perfect with the string lights above, the wonderful greenery around it, and (since it was summer) the calming sound of cicadas and crickets. My mom and I started off with a glass of wine. They had a nice assortment on their wine list to choose from. Their beer selection also looked pretty extensive albeit I hadn't paid as much attention to that list. For dinner, my mom ordered the garden herb grilled cheese and I the smoked pig sandwich. Both were so good that we shared half and half with each other. The grilled cheese had great flavor and lots of gooey cheese. The smoked pig sandwich had a fantastic bbq sauce that was just a tad sweet but with nice little kick to it. The pork was very tender and well-cooked. Even the side salads were crisp with a lovely lemon-y citrus vinaigrette -- very refreshing. The prices seemed pretty reasonable given the quality of the location and the food. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, and she checked back often to make sure we were satisfied. Decided to try the House for my wife's 50th b'day. It was a delightful experience. Kait was our server for the evening and she was a pleasure. She explained the specials well and was very accomodating of any questions we had. We had the crab and avocado spring rolls and the tuna tataki on crispy wontons for appetizers. We received 3 spring rolls stuffed with crab. They were a small meal in themselves. The tuna appetizer was delicious as well. For entrees we had the salmon and the scallops. The salmon was done perfectly, nice and moist. The scallops were prepared perfectly also. Both dishes were plated nicely with microgreens and accompanying veg. We shared a bottle of wine and my wife also had a fabulous espresso martini. We will definitely be back again for dinner and will also be trying the Barn for lunch sometime. read more

There is a huge disconnect from the parking lot and the House. The sign says inspired food. The house has a cool colonial vibe, and we were seated on the second floor. Great setting then the waitress came with water in a plastic Dixie style cup. Looked at the menu and they only offer burgers and sandwiches. We got an Elk burger and a Venison burger. Both priced about $20. That is all you get if you want to add lettuce and tomato that is an extra charge. The burgers arrived on a small white plate. I regret not taking a photo. We also ordered fried pickles, which came in black bowl. The young teen that brought the food just set it down on the table and was ready to race off. She did ask if we wanted ketchup...on elk and venison? I asked for ranch dressing to dip the fried pickles in because it doesn't come with a sauce. Both burgers were tasty, but still felt basic somehow. The last disconnect was with the bill. The .50 charge for the ranch dressing. So for $70 we got an ice tea, club soda, 2 burgers, side of fried pickles, and some ranch dressing to dip the pickles in. The whole experience was underwhelming. read more

Went here for a big family dinner, and it was absolutely perfect. The room we ate in was lovely and basically completely private, which was nice for 8 people to enjoy their food and not feel cramped, which can happen a lot when dining with a big number of people. I ordered the Lavender Bramble cocktail (a Gin based drink), which was as delicious as it sounds. As for food, I enjoyed the beet salad to start, and the Halibut as my main dish. Everything was simply delicious. I found myself scraping my plates for the last bits of flavor I could get - the food is that good. For main course I ordered the rabbit, I am rabbit fan, no where in the menu did it say it would be spicy, so I can assume the rabbit was "expired" and had to use spices to make it salable, note I eat rabbit a lot and over the years I have never had spicy rabbit. My assumption of the rabbit being expired was true, I believe risk of food poisoning, the Sunday Times kept me company while I was laboring in the toilet! A shame had high hopes for the place, will give it another shot as every one has a bad day! But boy was it bad for them! I have since recovered and made rabbit with white wine green olives and onion! We had a private party here, a luncheon for 22 people. I can't rate it enough stars. We enjoyed tremendous personal service from the whole staff both in the planning and execution stages. Our event was held upstairs in the House in a lovely room with a nearby bathroom. They had decorated beautifully for the Holidays. Food, drinks and service were all top-notch. My only caveat: the stairs were a little tricky for elderly folks (no elevator). Afterwards, we retired to the Barn for further libations. My first experience was awful and I'll never go back. It was a little bit later (8:15pm), so we went to the Barn which is open later. The tap system was down, so we couldn't order any draft beers. We ordered drinks instead and 2 orders of boneless wings and bruschetta, and the waitress came back 5 minutes later and told us they ran out of boneless wings. The Barn menu is significantly smaller, with only appetizer type foods, not real meals, so we decided that we were just going to go somewhere else and had her cancel the rest of our order. She was apologetic, but did not offer us a discount or free beverages or anything. At this point, it was later and more difficult to find someplace still open to eat. The kitchen staff and wait staff are not on the same page, and the establishment needs to get their stuff together.
