This place is great for groups. We were seated in a booth and we were greeted by our server right away. He did a great job of explaining the different options of what to order. The food was excellent! The hot bar & vegetable/salad bar were excellent! They had of bunch of different "appetizer" type options on the hot bar. However there was so much food with the KBbq that we were actually disappointed that we wasted stomach space on the hot bar (eventhough the food was good!). The hot pot was great & the broth had such great flavor. The KBbq was amazing! We really loved all the different cuts of meat for the grill! The short ribs were a fav & there's more than enough food for the table so everyone leaves more than full! It's also great that eventhough this place is busy & set up well for groups, it's not overly loud so you can still carry on a normal volume level conversation with others at your table! Ktown is a favorite for sure!

There are carnival type games and other distractions to pass the time. When seated your table has a large stove surface in the middle where you will either be doing BBQ or hot pot cooking. The menu is straightforward and easy to choose your option. The whole table has to choose the same option (BBQ or hot pot) so discussion might be helpful before the waiter arrives. Then you choose your meat and broth type and head to the never ending salad and veggie area. It has veggies, noodles, sauces, toppings and more! The waiter tells you em several times it is all you can eat, thus the higher price point. Make sure to note too though that if you order a lot more than you eat you will get charged a few for leftovers. They want to curb food waste which is commendable. I suggest starting small and then building as for sure you get full rather quickly! My favorite aspect was the sauce area where they listed sauce combos the recommend. It helped me a lot to have some guidance and I liked the sauce I chose from their list. A fun interactive experience and good for groups. It is loud and smelly as you are basically sitting inside a large kitchen. But a fun experience and yummy food so worth a visit!

There's plenty of seating and service was great. As I looked through the menu the dish that stood out to me was the thịt kho trứng (caramelized pork and egg rice dish). This isn't a dish that is usually in menus. It's a special dish made at home usually reserved for the lunar new year. After living away from family for a year now, this dish felt like a piece of home and comfort. The flavor of the pork egg dish is absolutely delicious. While this dish is typically supposed to be made with pork belly, chef Ricky substitutes it with pork shoulder for a more familiar taste/texture to our Midwestern community. I'm not mad honestly. The meat was so tender and pulls apart easily to eat with the rice which means it was braised long enough. I only ate half of the serving as it feels like a generous serving. I enjoyed that it was paired with slides tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and pickles veggies. The only thing missing was the nước chấm dipping sauce. The chè ba màu three color dessert is also another home away from home dish that instantly brings me back to my mom's house. The pandan jelly, red beans, coconut sauce and mung bean combine together so well and it was definitely a splurge to enjoy something so delicious. Thanks for a cozy, comforting meal. I'll definitely be back again when I'm feeling home sick.

Our waitress made the experience much better. She was wonderful at explaining the menu, patient with all our questions, and helped guide us since we hadn't visited before. Her clear descriptions helped to decide what we would like to eat and try for our first experience. A couple of notes for fellow diners: the "regular" spicy level is very spicy! I love heat and thought it was perfect, but if you're sensitive to spice you may want to ask for mild or none. The kimchi here is excellent (and available to purchase in small or medium containers). Their radish kimchi in particular is amazing--it's a must-try. Best of all, Sisters Korean is locally owned and operated. Highly recommend supporting them and enjoying a flavorful, authentic meal!

My mom who is 75 asked her if there is senior discount. She ignored her. I thought she didn't hear it so I asked her myself. She had an expression of annoyance for my mom wanting senior discount and sighed and said yes. While ordering food, we were told we can't have the ribeye slices bc it was lunch and ribeye is for dinner only. When paying, my mom noticed no senior discount on the bill. The waiter, who is a very nice young man, went to change it for us. That's when the hostess showed up and saw our bill and took it from the waiter. She then came back with a new bill with dinner price. I asked the waiter why we are being charged dinner. He said sorry it's dinner after 3:30. But thats not right because their flyer says lunch until 4. And we were told we can't have ribeye and the initial bill was for lunch. The waiter looked very embarrassed and I knew that the hostess forced him to say that . It was a birthday and the waiter was a nice man so I didn't want to make a scene. But it should be illegal for them to give you a bill for lunch and then change the bill to dinner after asking for a senior discount for a 75 year old. The food was decent, but the hostess at the front desk ruined it for us. That's not how you treat repeated customers. Never go there! Way better service at the Japanese bbq and other buffets. Not worth it to be treated like poor beggars and disrespectful towards a senior.

One of the reasons I loved it was the traditional charcoal grill, which is becoming harder and harder to find these days. Most places use gas grills, but charcoal really gives the meat that authentic Korean BBQ flavor. Because of my past visits, I came in expecting the same level of food quality and service. However, it seems the restaurant may now be under new ownership because the experience felt very different from what I remembered. Service was noticeably slower, and the food quality was not what I had come to expect from Bando. The bulgogi, galbi, chicken, and marinated pork were all brought out together on one plate. When I asked if I could order just beef, I was told that meats cannot be selected individually. Instead, I could choose three meats that would be served in half portions. We were also told that if any of the meat was not finished, there would be an additional $10 charge per person. Another surprise was that the usual Korean BBQ accompaniments were missing. Typically, all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ includes items like steamed egg and soybean soup, but neither were provided. Lettuce for wraps was also charged separately at $4. It's unfortunate because this used to be one of my go-to Korean BBQ spots. The charcoal grill is still a great feature, but overall, the experience wasn't the same as before. Free parking is available, which at least makes visiting convenient. Sadly, it may be time for me to start looking for a new Korean BBQ restaurant.

At around $30 per person for an all-you-can-eat experience, it's a fair price for the variety they offer. The lineup spans across galaxies with sushi, Chinese American favorites, ramen, hot pot, and more. The buffet area was well kept, clean, and the food looked fresh with no signs of anything leftover from the Clone Wars. The hot pot station deserves a special mention. Frozen meats and vegetables were neatly organized next to the sauce bar, which felt like the Jedi Temple of condiments. Pro tip: don't overload your plate the first or second round. You'll need stamina and strategy to get through this feast. Boba drinks in the dessert fridge were a pleasant surprise and a fun touch. The automatic 12% service fee might catch some diners off guard, but it's clearly posted at the hostess station and can be removed if you ask. For groups of six or more, the service fee bumps up to 15%. Still...the price for the selection isn't bad. Overall, Umi was a great experience. The food was fresh, the atmosphere lively, and the variety impressive. Definitely worth the credits, and I'd gladly return on another mission through the galaxy of all-you-can-eat dining.

Even then, it was nowhere near good enough to justify the $29.99 price. Everything else felt extremely overpriced for the quality. For a buffet at that price point, I expected much better food across the board. If you do not like sushi, do not come here, because that is the only thing that was even somewhat worth eating. Paying $29.99 per person for this experience was rough. Friendly staff and a clean space cannot make up for food that does not match the price. I will not be returning.
