This is the friendliest, warmest place not only to get your hair done but to have a great time with great conversation. I will not go anywhere else now, I have fund my salon. Not only have I left happy everytime but she has advised taught me so much. We have played with color and changed it up, Amy is a color master! Every time we have changed it, I get so excited by the change i must take a million pictures to commemorate how good it looks. I have been a client of Amy's for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. I would say I am very "picky" about my hair and Amy always takes time to discuss what I like\dont like and what would work best for me. This goes for my color and my haircut. I decided to try this place out after reading all of the positive reviews on this site, but I left with the worst haircut of my life. I asked to have my hair "thinned out" and I left with entire locks of hair cut entirely off of my head. Now, I have thick strands of hair that are two inches long and my hair is extremely frizzy. I usually wear my hair in french braids (it is pretty long), but I can't anymore because I am embarrassed of the mysterious 1-2 inch strands that stick out of the back of my head and won't fit into my braids. It will take me at least three years for my hair to grow back to normal. I am devastated with the result. My hair is completely ruined. read more

Went here a few weeks ago. I got a cut and color- I really did like it (Amy did it); color was great and cut looked nice. However, it was insanely expensive. I got foils and a cut and it was the most I've ever paid for a cut and color. Not sure I would go back simply because of the price. I've been going to Hotheadz for YEARS. I recently referred my friend Becca bc she was looking for a touch up before family pics. They squeezed her in last minute which was great. I am always a bit nervous of any referral bc you never know what your friends will think.... but of course she loved it (I'm not surprised)! She got a trim and color the same day I did. Amazing with curls and a magician with color. I wandered into Hot Headz over a year ago and since then Amy has completely transformed my hair. It is healthier despite two major color changes which she has guided me through wonderfully! After searching for a place to go and get my haircut since moving to the burbs and reading reviews non stop I came across Hotheadz and called to make an appointment. Went in a few days ago to get a haircut, been growing out my pixie and as with pixie haircuts a mullet was growing so wanted to even it out and maybe do a cute cut and continue to grow my hair. Went in and do not get me wrong the ladies were super sweet and the place is this cute little place. The person cutting my hair was super sweet and nice and I told her I was looking for a short bob, had it in the past and know it works with me. She said no problem and was cutting away, everything was going good and it was looking good. After it was blow dried and styled do not get me wrong it did look good and I was happy with it. The next day when I went to style my hair it was not what I wanted at all the cut was all wrong and not even close to a bob cut at all, like I said I've had them in the past and know how they should look like. After I had done straightening and trying to style it, the best way that I could explain how it looked was like there was mushroom was on head. The cut was so bad and no shape to it and i couldn't style it all or make it look even decent. I was so disappointing and I was in tears beyond upset and mad that I spent $60 on a horrible haircut. I had texted my regular hair person that works in the city and let her know what happened and she no problem took me to fix this horrible cut. As soon as she saw it she was in disbelieve how bad it was and that I was even charged $60 for something that bad. She even let me know that the cut was all wrong, no shape to it, no texture, no nothing. Lucky for me that I have such a great person in the city and she worked her magic and fixed my hair and cut it perfect and something that I am in love with. If you have to pick somewhere to cut your hair I would say to really read every review and really do your research so you know what you will be getting yourself into. I for sure will not go back here ever again and for sure will drive out to the city and have my haircut done by someone that knows what they are doing. read more

I was looking for a salon closer to home and my neighbor recommended Leslie. I have very fine, thinning, wavy hair on a funny shaped head. Leslie took her time examining my hair and pointed out how she was going to reshape it and why. I love the haircut she gave me. Looks great blown straight or scrunched. I went to Hotheadz for the first time yesterday. The previous salon that was coloring my hair just had it messed up and I decided to try this salon because of the great Yelp reviews. Tried calling three times to see if they can do a multi-textured perm. They say they can do perms on here AND their website. Talked to them via Facebook, and insist they cannot do any kind of perm whatsoever and "We would feel very uncomfortable doing one."
