I really like this place. The stylist listen to what you want and do what you ask. I have never really had "a stylist" and generally let my hair go. But I love my haircut's here and have returned 3 times in 4 months. Also got highlights 3 months ago. I wanted what I wanted, and she gave me that, along with other suggestions - but I wanted what I wanted. It was somewhat of a disaster is style, which was what I directed, but the work was good, and allowed for easy correction. The web site is easy to use to make appointments. The only thing I don't like, is that tips must be left in cash. They also add a credit card charge - but I know everyone is doing that now. Overall very very good. read more

Always a great highlight by Jessie! Natural look and just the right shade of color! I highly recommend HIP salon

The service was great as always and Jeanine did a fantastic job! Plus it was easy to get an appointment that worked with my schedule.

I've been going to Tyler for about 5 years now!! he is AMAZING. He has a lot of background in color training to get you to your perfect color! I mean I always go blonde (as a natural dark brunette) and he nails it every time. Staff is very warm and welcoming :) read more

Jill is amazing at doing my hair! I tried other salons for a couple of years and just went back today and she gave me the most beautiful cut. I will not be going anywhere else again. read more

Jeanine colored my hair for the first time and I was very happy with the way it turned out. I wanted low lights in my hair and was what I expected. I could get even more contrast in the future if I decide to. The vibe was much better here than the last place I went to for about a year. I felt like I belonged here. It was not cliquish like the other place where I felt out of place. I felt comfortable and staff at the front desk was very friendly. My former salon took 3 hours to do my hair. She was multi-tasking other Polish friends. HIP salon took just over 2 hours, the normal amount of time. Everyone was very professional and its a well established business. read more

love, Love, LOVE HIP Salon! You're just not a client. You are a part of an industry where the owner, receptionist, colorist, stylist and even the "shampoo assistant" make you feel like family. Not every place does that. read more

Can't say enough about your group of stylists. I've been going to the Hip for probably 20years, I guess. Before that I went to Heidi's in Woodfield. I absolutely love your color specialists. My favorite is Nick but I like Tyler too. I love that they always remember my name and they always make you feel special and welcome. read more

Best staff & service of any salon in Schaumburg. I always get compliments on my cut & color.

Another glorious keratin treatment. Jessie is the best!!! She always does a fantastic job.

Went in today to get my color rejuvenated. Tyler was my colorist. I have been going to hip salon for all my color needs for years. I see Tyler every time but I always get a different stylist (whoever is available at the time). Not this time though. I purposefully chose Tyler. Why? Because he truly shows interest in his clients. He remembers them. Several visits over long periods of time... never seeing Tyler as my colorist. But he remembered me, he remembered my style, my likes and dislikes. That is why I chose Tyler today. And know what.... I will continue to get my color done with Tyler moving forward. I only had to tell him warm rich black.... his reaponse..."i remeber, and I got you". The result..... perfection! Thank you Tyler. It is rare for me to LOVE the end result of my color rejuvinations.... but you did it. I LOVE THE RESULT! Worthy of a scream queen movie! Thank you. read more

The cut and dye were fantastic. The staff were wonderful. My problems were two. EXCEEDINGLY expensive and the dye job took forever. I have purple highlights put in my hair. Usually when I get my hair done, it takes about an hour and a half. They took 4 hours. The cut and dye cost nearly 500. read more

Amazing! Tyler knows every hair technique and I am so pleased with my highlights! I would never hesitate to go here!

Really enjoy this salon! Everyone is genuinely nice and wants to make your hair look nice. I got bangs to change up the look, and was very nervous since I hadn't had them for years. Jill was amazing and taught me how to style and take care of them. Ivette did my color and was equally as amazing. Was looking for a new place in the suburbs after moving from Chicago and think this will be it. read more

Absolutely wonderful! This was my first time at this salon. I had a semi formal function to attend and wanted an updo. When I called to make my appointment the person was very nice, and explained the pricing. The salon is very clean, great music, and the interaction between hairstylists was funny. Jill did my hair. I went in with a picture of what I wanted, and she nailed it! Jill is very professional, listened to what I wanted/didn't want, and is a great conversationalist. They have lists at the front desk of all the hairstylists account names so you can tip them via, Zelle, Venmo, or another way. LOVE this salon and Jill. Thank you Jill. I received so many complaints on my hair that night. read more

I travel just to come here! Tyler's my colorist and he's the best but everyone here is!

Finally made it in a long overdue haircut! My first time at HIP Salon so I can only share based on one visit. From the text confirmation, pre-call to talk about COVID-19 and the ease of the entire process, it was a wonderful first experience. Kimora, my stylist, is outstanding and makes some helpful recommendations and gave me great tips for continued styling and maintenance of my hair. She's a very caring and professional stylist. I appreciated seeing that everyone in the salon, customers and staff, wore masks and were continuously cleaning and sanitizing. They check your temp before entering right now too. Price for my cut and style was consistent with other salons I've visited in Schaumburg but I didn't feel like I receieved the same quality level of service at those other salons. I think I've found my new place to go for services. Be sure to check their website or call for the latest COVID-19 practices before making an appointment. read more
