Always works with my difficult schedule to get me in and does an amazing job! I am a natural red head that likes to add a little dimension but getting the color right has been tricky. Kim has been super patient with me and attentive to my particular requests. She has nailed the color and I get so many compliments! Best. Feeling. Ever. I always love my cut as well but am just so happy she has been able to get the trickier to two things on the nail! My hair is curly/wavy and plentiful but she manages to cut it so I get both the volume and weight that I want for my texture. If you haven't looked at photos of her work, do it. The photos speak for themselves. Kim is always advancing her skills and learning new techniques which is evident with her ability to not just be a one tricky pony. Wow what a gem! I stumbled upon Kimmy's hair Instagram page on my feed and it was fate. I went to two salons previous to this color but I never really felt a connection with the hairstylists I would usually just sit quietly in the chair for 2+ hours. Kimberly is different she did a great job and is a total sweetheart. I loved talking to her and it made the time I was there go by fast. She's really talented and has been doing hair for almost 10 years. The results were incredible and the price really fair! I didn't feel like I was overcharged (like the salons I've tried in the past in Chicago). Kimmy knows what she's doing even with darker hair like mine which can sometimes be a challenge to blend. You can definitely tell how passionate she is about her job and how much she cares for your hair's health. I can't wait to come back and to get my hair toned and cut by her. Took a long time to respond. I called on Monday, she texted back a few hours later saying she didn't have openings until 2 months out which I was ok with. We were texting back a forth, I asked what dates she had available and didn't get a response until Thursday. I thought that was a little unprofessional which is unfortunate, pics on her website seemed great but she doesn't seem interested in getting new clients. read more

I've been going to Kim for years! She's known for her balayage work (which is amazing) but I go a lot just for my haircuts and she's a magician! She gives great advice on how to get your hair healthy and respects what you ask for during your appointments. I can't recommend her enough! read more

Kim saved my hair! I went to a place where I received a bad perm (and really are any perms good??). My hair was fried! She spent 40 minutes conditioning and cutting it and now you would never be able to tell I permed it! I now have a person that I'm going to go to for any and all hair needs! Kimberly is amazing! She knows what looks good on each individual and she is always up to date with all the new styles. I could go in and trust her decision in what she thinks will look great on me. .. She has always been right on! I used to go to Mario's and spent way more. I had spent a lot of money at this one salon trying get a blonde ombre over my medium brown hair color. After 3 sessions with barely any difference at all, I went to Hair By Kimberly and I was amazed at what she could do in 1 session. After 2 sessions I was more than happy with how the color turned out. She gave me a great haircut as well! read more

Loved her initially, but after her doing bolayage I wanted highlights and she could not do a simple foil in my hair. It looked rooted and jagged. Had to go back 3 times and still wasn't given what I wanted. She's sweet, but if she knew business and knew that her client wasn't happy she would have offered a partial refund.
