I've been here twice. First time was for full highlights. The consultation was great and I was given the price for my service which included some lowlights too. The stylist was clear that she had to finish by a certain time for a dentist appointment so the whole experience, that I usually look forward to, felt rushed. I said I wanted to be "bright" I came in at a level 9. I left at level 7. The toner was way too dark. But I'm the person to say "it looks great" even when I don't mean it. I didn't realize that with a $250 color service, the blowout was not included. I have NEVER paid extra to have my hair dried but I had an event so I paid about $48 just for that. A haircut would have been $50 something on top of that. I paid in total over $300 without a haircut. But I made another appointment anyway. Not that the stylist was warm and friendly, she was all business, but because I didn't have anyone else to go to and I travel a lot for work. The second time I made a mistake on the date of my appointment and I was grateful I was able to get in the following day. The stylist asked if everything was ok from last time and I said yes, but I'd like to be brighter. Well, I came out with an even darker mushroomy color. I paid an extra $30 to have oleplex added to my bleach also. I did not opt for the full blowout, just a quick dry to see the color. I left the salon with frizzy dull hair in an unattractive color. I cried on the way home. Luckily, my daughter who is in cosmetology school was home and was able to remove the way too dark toner and magically give me the bright blonde I originally wanted. Overall, the salon services are waaaay overpriced. It's definitely quantity of customers over quality. read more

I recently visited Sharon Daniel's to get my hair done for my son's engagement party, which was just a week away. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service I received! Julia, a young hairdresser, did an amazing job coloring my hair--it looks absolutely beautiful and has never felt this soft before. I will definitely be returning for highlights soon. I'm new to Schaumburg and have been looking for a salon nearby, so I made an appointment on 5/10 at 8 AM at Sharon Daniel Salon. At 5 AM that morning, I received a call from Cindy cancelling the appointment and offering to reschedule for 5/17. I agreed, but just now received another call from the salon cancelling our appointment for tomorrow as well. I'm obviously disappointed with my overall experience. I've decided to look elsewhere. I'm surprised that a salon would cancel on a potential new customer twice in a row without a real apology or attempt to be squeezed by another stylist. The salon was very nice, clean and adorable. They had a coffee/ tea bar. The front desk girl was very nice but my interaction was limited to her trying to sell me products as soon as i walked in. I went in to get a color consultation with cindy. i have very dark brown hair and i was trying to get really blonde money pieces on the side I'm not an idiot i knew that my hair wasn't going to lift easily and would require more than one session and i was more than willing to forego the process and spend the money necessary but what put me off was her reaction to my inspiration picture. They are NOT transparent with costs tho. Please be wary. They will give you services you did not ask for and then charge you for them. Don't be a pushover! I was charged for a blowout and style after I got my roots touched up, but I only had my hair blow dried. My stylist asked me what style I wanted and I politely said "I don't want a style." I was charged for it anyways. I didn't realize I had to drive home with wet hair to avoid an extra $40 charge. I was also charged for extra product when getting another touch up (rightfully so, I will not deny that I needed it) but my stylist did not tell me it came with an extra cost. I would have had to pay it either way, but I would have at least wanted to know about it! Edit: I want to change my 3 star review down to a 1 star review. I came into the salon with an appointment for a touch up, but had to be moved an hour and forty five minutes later due to a technological issue. I genuinely did not care, stuff happens. They gave me a complimentary blowout and style along with my touch up to make it up to me. My root touch up was completely butchered however. There are FOUR bands around my head, all different colors. This is my third touch up at this salon and the previous 2 sessions did not result in this and I had no idea this would happen. The owners responde to me was that this banding was "inevitable" and "the expected outcome." Later we had a phone call conversation where the owner immediately dismissed my concerns by saying "they are professionals and they know this not to be true." I have picture proof! It is very much true. Dan went on a 5 minute speech about how long his salons been open, how professional they are, etc. I was barely allowed a word in and I was interrupted at almost every sentence. Dan went on to gaslight me into shifting the outcome of my hair onto me. It was now my fault for waiting to long in between touch ups and the banding it my fault and "not establishing a regime". I counter argued that if this was an inevitable expected outcome, then I would like to be notified PRIOR to the service. NOT AFTER. To which he replied "it is very rare that it happens, so we don't tell our clients." Please pick one Dan. He interrupted me again asking me what I wanted, I said I want EVEN color. He said I would have to pay an additional $108 to achieve that. he went on some Speech about how the salon wants to earn my trust and not money gauge me, yet they failed to let me know about an inevitably terrible color outcome and charge me additional money to fix it. I asked for a full refund or the services to fix my hair at a discounted rate. He said "there is nothing to fix, because the problem is me and not them." He also accused me of try to flood them with negative reviews, using these phone calls to "get my anger out" or to just "argue" and then preach professionalism when they made an instagram post indirectly about me. This was incredibly traumatic and terrible experience. Don't waste you time or money. read more

Seriously worse haircut of my life. It way too choppy and short. Wasn't blended. Also when I called to complain the owner jumped at the chance to give me extensions on the spot she messed up on that I would have to pay for. Excuse me but why would I pay for something your salon messed up. I'm near tears from this hair cut and how they messed up my hair. The whole time they tried upselling products just gross. So unprofessional say away. I don't understand how someone can give such a lousy haircut. Like do they not know how to cut hair. And the fact that they wanted to charge me to fix their mistakes is just gross and shows that all they care about is money and not the cusomter. I'm livid as this will take months to grow out and look relatively normal. It's so uneven just terrible. It's been two weeks and I'm still in tears. I can't believe they did this to my hair. Before having my hair colored and cut about 5 weeks ago by Cindy, I had long, full, shiny, soft hair. I was always getting compliments on my hair and asked what I do to keep it so healthy. I'm always very careful with my hair and almost never blow dry it. I use Biolage and Redken products and the most important thing is spending time brushing it gently after washing it. After having my hair colored and washed, Cindy was extremely rough brushing my hair. I've been getting my hair professional colored for over 20 years, and I've never had a hairdresser start at the roots to comb through my long-wet hair. I asked her kindly to be gentler and she commented that my hair was damaged. I was stunned and a little scared and responded that it wasn't damaged before she colored my hair. I asked her if I could do it, but she reassured me that she had it. Looking back, I don't know why I didn't stop her or even just leave. I kept thinking it wouldn't be that bad as she continued to rip through my hair. I currently do not have split ends and I didn't leave with splint ends. Instead, what I have is hair that was ripped apart leaving the ends bent and damaged, so it no longer lays softly. It looks like I have dead, damaged split ends, and very dry hair. You know how hair can look fuzzy or blurry because there are hundreds and hundreds, probably thousands of hair ends sticking up. They're everywhere, even around the face to remind me every time I look in the mirror. 5 weeks later and beyond heartbroken, the damage from Cindy ripping my hair is beyond Olaplex's capabilities. Olaplex worked, just like it always does and it's so soft to the touch, but tragically, it will take years for my long hair to grow out and have the luster it previously had. I waited about a month before posting this review, hoping my hair would get better. Sadly, I've continued to receive comments, most recently as of this morning, asking what happened to my hair(!?!?). They tell me it looks dead and dry and lost its radiance. But when they touch it, it's Olaplex soft. I'm sure she never treats her own hair like the way she ripped through mine. read more

I've been going to this salon for more than twenty years. Sharon doesn't touch my hair without an in-depth consultation first. She asks great questions and digs at what my goals for my hair, which change with the seasons and weather (especially when it's hot and humid). That always makes me feel like it is a solid collaboration. And I walk out getting the exact look I want. Everyone is so well trained, friendly and professional. And the salon is beautiful and clean with lots of parking. Plus they have free WiFi! It's a terrific salon with a great staff who provides wonderful service. read more

Let me start with the word total disappointment..I had an appointment with Jamie hair stylist. We discuss prior on how I want my balayge hair color. This was the first time I was going for hair color and I was very much excited. However, Jamie just nod along and kept me blinded on how she understood and totally screwed my first experience with hair color.. She very poorly did the hair color and balayge (which cost alot than usual coloring). I end up having hair with little or minimum effect. I am very much disappointed. She seems to be the starter and couldn't have charged me for the professional service.. This is how the end results looks like.. And I am not kidding..if you see little effect is coz of lights.. I forgot her name but she was amateur at hair and I could've done what she did at home. I paid $250 for a brassy balayage with no dimension, nothing. I even had to ask her to put some lipstick on me. My left lashes started coming off after 2 hours. I found this place and decided to give it a try because of the high ratings. I've never paid more than $75 for makeup but I was charged $80 and I even gave her a good tip only to have my makeup incomplete. Really disappointed. read more

I booked a keratin treatment and haircut with a new associate at the salon (Brianna). It was a 50% off special with Bri, so I wanted to try it out. It was my first time getting a keratin treatment. Bri was very knowledge about the treatment and process. She assured me the treatment was formaldehyde free. She was very gentle in handling my hair, and she kept me informed of every step in the process. She was very professional and took the time to get to know me. Something that I appreciated most about Bri was her understanding of my needs. I'm a new mom and on a regular pumping schedule. I informed her ahead of time that mid-service I had to take a break to pump. She not only kept track of time to give me that break, but she also offered me options on where to pump comfortably. She made me feel very comfortable. I also got a trim during my visit where she made sure to cut exactly the amount I wanted off and how I wanted it. I would highly recommend. read more

Cut and color by Jamie. She was sweet and professional. But did not match the color or cut I wanted. She didn't have time to do what I wanted which fine, but I told salon what I needed done at the time of booking. I told her many times my hair is brassy and I wanted a neutral brown. Didn't even mention toning it. After she dyed my hair my ends lighter which she did offer to fix. But at that point I didn't want to stay any longer. I didn't want to waste her time or mines. Hate to leave a bad review but the cost didn't not match the quality. I could have done it myself. read more

I've been looking for a new salon and stylist and THIS IS IT!!!! I searched through Yelp and found this small but wonderful salon. I especially liked that they have videos of various stylists and services on their website. I made an appointment with Natalie based on reviews and her videos. I was a bit early for my appointment and Natalie greeted me at the desk right away. She started out by reviewing the current specials and the products they used at the salon and then asked if I wanted coffee or water. I showed her pictures of the haircut I've been trying to achieve without success (like the short pixie Jennifer Lawrence/Kaley Cuoco had - longer on top). We also talked about my base color and wish to not do highlights in the winter. Natalie suggested a new base color that more closely matched the color of my current base and highlights. We also talked about the benefits of adding a gloss or a deep conditioning treatment. She was Qi to point out that it might not be economical for the gloss since I was getting a pixie and that the deep conditioning could achieve the same results. She walked through everything she was doing. She did a dry cut first to take off some length (it had been 5 months since I had gotten a haircut), then she applied my new base color. Then she totally surprised me by asking about dying my eyebrows the same color! Not one of my previous stylists had ever asked me before. Natalie gave a me a wonderful massage both during my shampoo and applying the deep conditioning treatment. (Love their shampoo chairs and head rest in the sink!). Natalie asked me several questions about the length I wanted around my ears and also stopped several times during the cut to check if I was ok with the cut. She showed me how to style with products and drying. The results were just what I have been looking for for 2 years! I am so happy . Here's my new hair! I highly recommend both the salon and Natalie. The last few places I've gone I've left disappointed as the girls did more of what they wanted opposed to what I wanted. I sent pictures to Natalie prior to our appointment and I believe she exceeded my expectations. If you need a simple cut or full color, I would recommend! The salon is located right in the heart of Schaumburg. I loved the feel when you walk in as it's big enough to host multiple clients but small enough for you to get that personalized attention. Abby did my hair and my six bridesmaid's hair for my wedding two weekends ago and did a fantastic job. I was a little concerned about one person doing 7 hair styles in about 4 hours, but Abby was great and got us all done on time. I met with her several months ago when I went in for a trial. She did about 3-4 different styles on me until I found one that I liked. Fast forward to about 2 weeks before my wedding when I decided I wanted to change it. I didn't schedule a new trial because I was sure Abby could pull off the look I wanted. My hair came out exactly how I was imagining it and I absolutely loved it. One of my bridesmaids brought in photo with a hairstyle that Abby had never done before, but she was willing to give it a go, and did it perfectly. She listened to what we wanted and made sure that we were all happy with the look before she let us go. Their prices are very reasonable and Abby did a great job. I can't comment on the other salon aspects since I haven't tried any of them and the salon is too far for me to go to for regular hair appointments. But I would highly recommend Abby for doing your wedding hair. read more

VERY small salon, I think there are only 3 chairs in the whole place. I came here on a Sunday to get my eyelashes tinted. It was both my first time at the salon and getting my eyelashes tinted but Ashley explained everything to me in great detail before we got started and I felt completely at ease. We were the only people in the salon at the time - I can't imagine what its like in there when it gets busy - it could be really fun, or it could be claustrophobic. A perk for new customers - they have a $10 off any service coupon on their website. I used it and my eyelash tint cost $8, can't beat that! read more

My friend had Sharon Daniel Salon come to our hotel for bridal party updos. The hairstylist arrived early and was very professional but work was significantly subpar. Each bridesmaid was scheduled for 30 minute appointments. I was first in line and was very disappointed. The hairstylist did not take the time to smooth out my frizzy curly hair that I had slept on the night before. She instead spent the next 12 minutes tangling it up into a low bun full of fly always. The hairstyle was not at all what the picture looked like and could have easily been smoothed out if she had taken the time. Bobby pins were not inserted properly (x formation) therefor the hairstyle did not hold at all. Throughout the remaining hours of the day bobby pins were falling loose from my hair. I spent the whole day re pinning my hair. $75 for the hairstyle was way over priced and results were highly disappointing. read more

I HIGHLY recommend them for bridal hair. I used Sharon Daniel Salon based on a recommendation from a friend. I went to her wedding and loved her hair, so I used the same salon. They were super organized and willing to work with me. You have to go to them for the trial, but they come to you for day of which is a MUST in the city (traffic and parking would make going anywhere stressful on the day of your wedding). I worked with Abby, and she was EXCELLENT. She really listened to what I wanted during the trial and was totally open to changing things so that it was exactly what I was looking for. She had no problem with me bringing in my own extensions and working with those - she didn't pressure me at all to buy them through them. The day of, she showed up early (not just on-time) to set up and make sure we were on schedule. She did 6 girls plus me in 4 hours which I found very impressive since every bridemaid's hair was different (thick/thin). She was really friendly, didn't rush you, yet stayed on schedule. My hair was EXACTLY what I asked for - and exactly as she did it for the trial. I was so incredibly pleased with her. I've been going to Ashley for a year now.. and am always happy with my hair. she always has great ideas and works with what I want.. We used them this weekend for my wedding, between her and Abby ( also great!) they did 14 people's hair for my wedding... their receptionist ( Elise) is super organized, so helped me all along the way making a schedule for the wedding day.. I have had some TERRIBLE hair experience. Daylie was amazing. She listened to what I wanted and gave suggestions and made the whole expire very pleasurable. I have super long and thick hair and she worked wonders with it. She, along with Lee the manager, are so knowledgeable and sweet and made my whole experience amazing. On top of having an amazing hair experiences, Daylie is awesome with eyebrows as well. I rarely give reviews but I had to in this instance. The women are so sweet and professional and really listen to your wants and needs and will steer you away for bad choices. I've been to salons where I feel like I'm being judged and you will never feel this here. I 100% recommend this salon. read more
