My co-worker and I have stayed at a lot of hotels in the area and found this Holiday Inn Express is one of the nicest, with a great staff specifically Gladys and Mr Patel. Read many reviews and I agree with them wholeheartedly. read more

Just spent 4 nights at Hotel Strata and we totally enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The staff was incredible--I called & asked for two more pillows & they were at my door two minutes later--another night, my key wouldn't open the outside entry & within 5 minutes two people were fixing the keyless entry. Even more amazing, was someone called my room to tell me the problem had been addressed. The TV is great & actually in HD unlike other hotels & free WiFi. Also, a microwave, small refrigerator, pants presser, & safe. Breakfast every day until 9:30 am. Really nice hotel with great customer service. We will be back! read more

This is a great hotel and I agree with all the positive comments recently posted. The staff was terrific, constantly checking to see what they could do for us. The breakfast was great. They have an excellent cappuccino machine. They have snacks available 24/7. One additional anecdote is worth sharing. My son bought an antique vinyl record as a gift and we were concerned it would get bent when we flew home because we only had soft carry-on bags, no big hard suitcase to protect it. I asked at the desk if they had any ideas and Mr. Patel ran in back and cut up a cardboard box and made a protective sandwich around the record and taped it up with packing tape. The record arrived home in perfect shape. read more

Best kept secret in Mt. View...excellent location and fantastic people. Kudos to Hotel Strata.

One of the best hotels i have stayed at Mountain view and i have stayed at more than 5,6 hotels in these areas each for a week. You have clean, high tech rooms, with keys to turn on/off all lights, heated seat toilet, automatic lights at night as you go to bathroom, great gym and patio, etc. The employees are extremely courteous. I will definitely go back read more

I'm not sure I wrote a review of this property last summer but this is the best boutique hotel I've stayed at. Nicest room, great amenities, real big screen hi-def tv, luxury furnishings, and super breakfast. Very attentive owner and staff. I ask owner if since this was silicone valley why he didn't have USB outlets in the rooms, he didn't poopoo me but said that was on the books for the future. Not sure if it happened but at least he didn't make me feel stupid for the suggestion. read more

The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The floors are not carpeted which adds some level of coastlines. The staff is attentive, friendly and show concern for your well being. The breakfast is very simple and not very tasty when compared to other hotels in the area read more

WOOWWW!! TV in the bathroom mirror!!!! AWESOME!!! heated floor in bathroom. ....A duvet ...wooden floors thought out the room which I love love love. The owners are super super nice. The breakfast is great lots to choose from. One minute pancake maker. read more

It is so nice. I like the user centered designs in the hotel. The wood floor, the automatic ambient light, and the provided chargers for iPhone and mini usb. Very contemporary designs of the interior and exteriors too. friendly staff. read more

Newly renovated rooms are fantastic: heated bathroom floors, usb outlets, clean/new furniture, etc.. (Even before the renovation, the old rooms were fantastic). Hotel Strata has truly thought of everything you need. Incredible attention to detail. Fast WiFi. Customer service is impeccable - very friendly and personal. There's no better hotel in the Silicon Valley! read more

Great place to stay. I was in Mth View for some errands and stayed in this hotel for two nights. Wonderful experience :)

Very friendly and helpful staff. Helped me out in a few situations where they could easily have not. The rooms were nice and well kept. Wooden floor, large TV, free wifi, free toiletries if you forgot to bring any. The breakfast is amazing too. They try to keep changing the items so you do not get bored, plus the items are well prepared. The location is pretty convenient too. Situated on El Camino it gives you public transport options and is great if you do not have a car. Plus there are lot of popular eateries on el camino so you have a lot of options besides the nice mexican restaurant within the hotel premises. Lastly I believe it is perfect if you like Indian stuff. You can either take bus 22/522 or just walk to indian stores that are located nearby where sunnyvale starts. Overall a very nice experience :) read more

I rolled into Palo Alto from Texas on my first interstate job as a designer sick, tired, dirty, delusional and broke from the road, and the these guys treated me so well I forgot all my woes. The hotel is obviously a remodel, but don't let that fool you, the rooms are spacious, clean, and very cool; the shower actually has two heads, which is nice just to check out. I have been fortunate enough to find a line of great hotels on this arduous journey into the new, but this hotel, the Hotel Strata, went above and beyond. Stay there. read more

5 Star! Most FABULOUS hotel I've been in in my life. Better than Steve Wynns Hotels in Las Vegas! Not Joking! The owner has thought of everything and more! Wonderful staff and Trisha is the reason I will be telling people to come here for years to come! read more

I was on a short timeline and needed a hotel for our out-of-town wedding guests, many of whom would not have transportation. I interviewed many, MANY of the hotels in the area for price, amenities, and room decor. Strata has beautiful rooms, round the clock snacks available in addition to a full breakfast, a back area for gathering, and use of a shuttle. Strata's main amenity, though, is Mr. Patel. Some people have a real gift, and Mr. Patel's is hospitality. It is unusual for businesses with transient clientele to take such a human interest. Mr Patel has a zen-like patience and warmth and reassurance. I knew we were in good hands. No other hotel offered anything close to the attention and level of service and without a tremendous price. We put together a package that was competitively priced for our guests, included breakfast, and van transport to AND from our venue for our guests. I knew it was an extremely generous arrangement then, and I am even more grateful now, having watched another couple have a terrible time with their wedding hotel. We actually had a sit down meeting going over timeline and logistics; Mr Patel thought of everything, including making sure the numbers in the van didn't mean gowns getting crushed and rumpled. The front desk welcomed our guests warmly, attended to them beyond anything they would have requested (many guests made a point of telling me how amazed they were at the elite treatment!), handed out our guest bags at check in, and provided us with a list of confirmed reservations. Notably, they did not require that we pre-pay a minimum booking ourselves (but that may have been because our guests were quick to reserve themselves). Most notably, Mr Patel was unruffled during a very, very trying situation. The caterer was late with the takeout meals for the the kids departing midway through the reception, and then two of them had a complete meltdown as the van was about to leave, and had to be calmed. I am sure it way very trying for him, and yet he never let it show. He was always exceptionally gracious, and I am forever grateful to have had him as part of our wedding team! read more

The suite was FANTASTIC everything was so modern and high tech!! They even had chargers for every kind of phone connected to their room phone. TV in the bathroom mirror!!! SPLENDID!! read more

I've been staying at Hotel Strata for over 5 years. They recently initiated a remodel project that has resulted in rooms with all the extras. The rooms are tastefully decorated and a business traveler's dream - plenty of plugs, high speed internet, and USB plugs right by the bed. The rooms are always very clean. The hotel grounds are quiet and safe. The staff is unbelievable. They take the time to check on you and to get to know you. I also enjoy the free morning shuttle the staff runs between the hotel and many local businesses. The staff just does above and beyond to make your stay as wonderful as possible. They also run a nice frequent stayer program that gives you cash back - can't beat that! Completely recommend! read more

Awesome room all first class gadgets. Incredible staff very accommodating. Very clean. Large breakfast buffet. If we are in the area again we will be staying here. read more

This hotel is very nice and appears to be new. Extremely clean. Incredibly polite and nice staff. Fantastic location! Highly recommend!

Owners' sweet idea of handmade furniture, comfortable decoration and warming atmosphere that made my day!

I've stayed in several European and Asian hotels but Hotel Strata is the first hotel in the States that I've stayed in that truly knows the meaning of the word service. The staff were all very helpful and friendly while simultaneously not being obtrusive. And unlike the so called "full service" hotels, with Hotel Strata everything was included including a great on-site breakfast and in room kitchen. If I make it back to Mountain View I'll be sure to stay there again. read more

We stayed during the holidays, and didn't have too high of expectations since we figured most staff would be taking time off. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating, really excellent hospitality. The breakfast offered great choices, the coffee was great, and they have loaner bikes, which we used extensively during our stay. Our hotel room had heated floors in the bathroom, hardwood floors (the germaphobe in me was so pleased), and was very clean. Plenty of USB ports and nice furnishings, very comfortable beds, and a zen vibe throughout. Will absolutely make a point of staying here again! p.s. icing on the cake: got home to discover we forgot our toothbrush chargers. Gave them a call on the off chance they had them, and they had been turned in by the cleaning staff, and they shipped them right to us. :) read more

I stayed here recently, and would highly recommend it. The rooms are nice, clean, and modern. As noted in other reviews, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They had the items I forgot to bring along with me, gave good advice on where to eat (breakfast at the Mexican place next door is good American fare), and called me when they discovered I had left something behind. read more

This hotel is BY FAR THE BEST hotel I've ever stayed in. My family and I were passing through Mountain View for a few days on vacation and were welcomed warmly by the helpful and pleasant staff. With five of us, we had to have a roll-away bed--it was already set up when we arrived. Everything was so clean and sleek and the breakfast was topnotch. I have absolutely no complaints about this beautiful home away from home. Definitely worth the money and we left with smiles on our faces. (Not to mention, getting welcome packs on our arrival!) The Patel family is so very hospitable and Em is a true gem! Stay here--you won't be sorry!! :) read more

We have now stayed at the Hotel Strata on two different occasions; the first time just the parents, and the second with one of our college aged sons. Both times we experienced a warm welcome with very helpful people at the front desk, and comfortable, nicely appointed rooms with lots of "tech conveniences" such as USB plugs to charge our various electronics. The beds and chairs were very comfortable and the shower has good pressure and is roomy. Absolutely no complaints about the room. There is a nice workout area that has everything the average traveler might want. Obviously it is not a full gym, but it has a variety of good quality aerobic machines, dumbbells, and a "weight machine" (like a universal, but different brand). There is also a very nice, albeit small pool that was clean and refreshing. The owner is frequently on site and is happy to help, in any way he can, to make one's stay better. The only "weak spot" is the breakfast. They have fresh fruit, bagels, bread for toast, cereal and even a waffle maker (I think-we didn't use it, but that is what it looked like), yogurt, and a variety of juices. These were all good. They do have some premade breakfast items that appeared to be of varying quality. Since we were happy with yogurt, fruit and cereal, we didn't try them. They also had an espresso maker for those who wanted fresh espresso. All in all, we found the Hotel Strata to be a very pleasant place to stay, with all of the amenities we wanted and for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Strata while we were in Mountain View for a concert. The hotel is very nice and the staff is incredibly friendly. The rooms have lots of amenities, like heated floors in the bathroom, swanky waterfall shower head and a large TV. It's in a great location and we would definitely go back again. read more

The hotel is very nice. It looks very presentable however there is no longer a pool there and if you stay longer than a day.. The second day of cleaning up the room is NOT on point. Upon check-in they charged or they said "authorized" payment for my room. However this was a pre paid room.. So their mistake that they authorized. But I was told that the manager would contact me regarding this matter.. No one contacted me. So I had to stay at this hotel with over $300 less in my bank because they tried to bill me again for the weekend. I finally talked to the manager when I went to the front desk and all he had to say was sorry that was our fault, youll have your money back in 3-7 days.. Which doesnt help me AT ALL. And when I went to check out all he said was I hope you come stay with ua again.... YEA RIGHT!!! BTW.. If u still plan on staying at this place after my experience, check under the bed because I had little small bugs crawling out from under mine. read more

Being Indian, this hotel is great place to stay. It just feels like home. Breakfast is great. Pick up and drop service available. Hotel, cab driver & my friend communicated and found my mobile in cab, I was very happy. Overall, great experience. read more

LOVE Hotel Strata. The owners are friendly and engaging. The remodeled rooms were thoughtfully re-created to provide the utmost comfort. Not luxury, but comfort, which is what we really want. The bathrooms are luxurious with heated floors, tubs built for soaking, and the showers can be adjusted so the water falls directly from the ceiling. Everything is immaculately clean. I travel to California very frequently and will stay at Strata every chance I get. read more

My sisters and I used this hotel to shower and get a little bit of sleep while our mother was in the hospital a short distance away. The room was clean and comfortable and was nicer than it looked on the outside. It had hardwood floors and good quality sheets. The hotel staff was BEYOND nice. I often stay at four and five star hotels and the caring attituded of the staff really exceeded my expectations. The service is comparable to a family run bed and breakfast. If you are in the area, stay here. read more

i must preface that i have never stayed at this hotel. however, i am rating them 5 stars b/c they donated sewing kits to our church. the sewing kits were used in "essentials" bags that were made for families in need at lucille packard children's hospital (specifically with babies in the nicu). i called on a wednesday, talked to dilip -- he was immediately very generous and accommodating -- and picked up on saturday. to me, that shows they are a class act. i will definitely recommend this hotel to out of town guests. thank you hotel strata! you will help families in need during hard times. read more

Like all the other hotels in the area, you are paying 4 star hotel prices for motor-court style motel. Strata is a cut above its competitors for the things it gets right that should go without saying, but often do not here: dead quiet room, spacious shower with good water pressure, very comfortable bed, excellent wifi and a huge number of convenient power outlets. 4 stars for the hotel itself, plus an extra because the competition is so bad! read more

Comfy bed. Clean Multiple lighting options, individual dimmable lights over bed. Pants press-suit press thing in room, not sure what it was, didn't use. There are wood floors throughout. Shower had multiple water positions available-overhead, hand held, massage head, tub. Big TV and DVD player. Big counter top in bathroom, bright light around mirror. Lots of storage throughout room and bathroom. Big desk in room. Good fan in bathroom Didn't get to see or use table tennis but they say it's there. They have bikes you can use for free. Easy parking. Pretty quiet. Staff very good, friendly. Pool was ridiculous, small, narrow and alongside parking lot and main lobby! No recycle bin and when I asked I was told they sort later. They could impress guests and save staff toil plus instill the message by placing one recycle bin in each room and one or two in the lobby/eating area. Breakfast had all sorts of Asian, Indian, American options. As a vegan I found plenty to eat. Umbrella stand stocked with umbrellas to loan. read more
