As an engineer, I'm always focused on what can be improved so let's begin with the bad list: (1) No lift or elevator so if you're elderly, handicapped, or injured it won't be much fun. (2) There's no air conditioning so our room was uncomfortable in the 81°F temperature. There are no fans in the rooms and no window screens to keep bugs out so there aren't many options out there to stay cool. (3) The 220 volt switches that controlled the light fixture and exhaust fan in the bathroom were located within the shower stall. There's no planet in our solar system where that would be considered safe as these are not GFCI protected circuits. (4) Some of the 220 volt receptacles in our room had wall plates that would spin which made it difficult to plug into. (5) The filter on our bathroom exhaust fan revealed a lack of maintenance. (6) My room included a chain smoker on the next balcony over so I was unable to enjoy any time on the balcony. There were good things too but just not enough to elevate us out of the 2-star rating: (1) The views from the mountain side were stunning but we mainly have God to thank for that rather than the hotel. (2) The bacon cheeseburgers in the restaurant were very good although expensive. (3) The staff were kind, friendly, helpful, and skilled.

The rooms are great - not fancy - but spacious with good sized bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and very relaxed. There's a very peaceful lounge area if you're into hanging out in the bad weather. And the restaurant, while a little on the hot side, is outstanding. Excellent food, wonderful service. Great hiking opportunities in the area. Don't miss the gondola rides - there are 4 of them. This was THE BEST hotel stay I had while visiting Switzerland! First things, I booked a single room and was shocked when I walked in to find a queen sized bed. This is really an upgrade from what most other hotels provide to single room bookings. Yes, it was small but well laid out. All the comforts and toiletries were provided. Toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, slippers and so much more. Plus, the bed was insanely comfortable AND the room had great AC. I also loved that they provided a mini fridge and left a cold water everyday. That was a nice little touch. I suppose the only minor issue was the shower/bath tub situation. It was setup rather awkwardly but nothing that couldn't be managed. It wasn't issue enough for me to remove a star! But just a heads up. If you are very tall or have mobility issues, the shower/tub could be a challenge. Otherwise the bathroom was very large and easy to move about in. Other perks here would be the excellent breakfast, onsite restaurant providing guests with a discount, and complimentary bus pass for Interlaken zones. The staff were helpful and kind. I will definitely stay again during my next visit to Interlaken.

It reflects culture and leadership. There's something here that feels like old-school European excellence in hospitality. Service that is confident, calm, precise, and not overly theatrical. It feels intentional. Lara at reception was excellent. Professional, efficient, and warm without being overdone. Check-in was smooth and polished, but never stiff. Chantal at concierge was exceptional. She noticed me every time I walked into the hotel. Not occasionally. Every time. She remembered what she had arranged, followed up naturally, and clearly paid attention. That level of detail is rare, even at top-tier properties. It made a difference. But the meals were just so good that I couldn't imagine getting a better meal elsewhere. The beef entrecôte with béarnaise sauce was my favorite meal of our entire Swiss vacation. The Schwarz Mönch beer was available and was as delicious as everyone said it would be. And the fresh orange juice machine was so fun during breakfast and made the best juice.

Dinner in the evening here is also delicious and so reasonable especially in Switzerland. The scenery and cow bells are magical. The only negative is they allow smoking on the balconies and in order to get cool air into the rooms you need to open the patio doors and window which means awful cigarette smoke comes into our non smoking atmosphere. This hotel was so reasonably priced for how clean, beautiful, and quiet it was. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and had the best time. Their complimentary breakfast was also so delicious with choices for your eggs, and some incredible bread, meats, and cheeses. We got a room with a balcony and it was so so worth it. We spent so many mornings outside just enjoying the view before leaving for our adventures for the day. The staff was so friendly, they even come to the train station to pick you up, even though it's only a 10 minute walk. If you come here, you absolutely won't regret it.
