We knew there were not a lot of hotel options in Coba, so two days prior to our arrival we made reservations here (without seeing the room). They gave us a nice price, there is A/C in the room, hot water and TV. Sounded pretty good to us. We arrived and true to their word, our hotel room was ready. You walk under the restaurant through the back, past the restrooms and some older cabanas to a separate building with maybe four rooms. Your window looks into some sort of farm with turkeys and roosters among other animals. They are not too loud. Our room was modern, clean, a large bed, and clean bathroom. The bathroom was the second best bathroom we had throughout our trip; only second to our $200 a night hotel. The A/C was good and the bed comfortable. That was all we needed. I enjoyed a warm shower and sat outside on the shared patio to enjoy the early evening. Grab a beer from up front and enjoy. Coba is peaceful and quiet. At the end of the say the tour buses leave and you will have the place to yourself. We also enjoyed our time at the restaurant on the second floor. They have your standard Mexican menu for the area. Go for the night if you want to visit the ruins, walk around the lake (look for the crocodiles!), enjoy a peaceful nigh, maybe some cerveza and recharge. read more
