Incredible hotel! Very clean. Really relaxing, they have two pools one of which is a heated salt pool. They welcomes us with a free tequila shot and a really yummy breakfast was included in the price of the room. They also have cats on the property! One is Tita and one is Tequila and they are both very friendly. Overall great experience with a very hospitable staff.

Lush vegetation surrounds the rooms.

Hotel Posada San Juan is a delightful and welcoming hotel in Valladolid that I want to go back to…read moreagain and again. Located about a 10-minute walk south of the main square, this hotel is unassuming on the outside, but stunning when you walk in. The hallways are wide and airy, with lovely decor and details to make you feel calm and relaxed from the first moment. We booked a deluxe king room for 3 nights. Our room was a corner room on the second floor overlooking the pool. The room is spacious with a comfortable bed, a hammock (yes, a hammock in your room!), a large dresser and another cabinet for more surface area and storage, and a large and lovely bathroom. There is no bathtub, but the shower is amazing. The bathroom is partially "open air" with a rain shower head. Showering was quite a unique experience. Breakfast is included with your stay and it's awesome. There is self serve coffee, tea, and juices, and bread and fruit. You can choose an entree (choices are omelette, pancakes, waffle, huevos rancheros). The special is definitely a must try. It's served with warm tortillas, beans, and salsa. The hotel offers a few unique experiences. The one we took a part of was the Ek Balam guided tour and half day at a private cenote (YES!!! A *private* cenote to yourselves!). There is also a day trip to Rio Lagartos (nature reserve, pink sand beaches, and flamingos!), a cooking class, and a mixology class. The Ek Balam and cenote Chenxunan trip must be reserved in advance and it's only one group per day. The day trip includes transportation, cold water and soft drinks, a delicious multi-course meal at the cenote, and of course an entire cenote for you to enjoy for 3-4 hours! Our guide for Ek Balam, Juan, was a wonderful and knowledgeable gentleman who told us stories and details that really enriched our exploration of the ancient ruins. Ek Balam is not as popular as the nearby Chichen Itza but definitely worth a visit. The pyramid is climbable and features a very interesting excavated tomb with wonderfully preserved carvings. Cenote Chenxunan was absolutely gorgeous. The cenote is privately owned an they take great care to preserve the land. A lot of the popular cenotes in the area get hundreds and thousands of visitors a day. But this cenote gets up to 12-15 visitors a day. We saw the local flora and fauna thriving in this preserved area. The swim in the cenote was absolutely delightful and revitalizing. It's fairly large with a cave and many stalactites. We even saw a couple of owls and heard some bats! Our stay at Hotel Posada San Juan was amazing and if we're back in Valladolid, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. All the staff were wonderful.

Gabriel helped us even before we arrived, as I called him with a few questions. We stayed in the new building. The room and facility were clean and lovely. The outdoor shower was awesome! Breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel dogs were adorable. This is where we'll stay when we come back to Valladolid.

**Review (Restaurant Only):**…read more We visited the restaurant at this hotel with much higher expectations. While the setting is beautiful--the restaurant and the surrounding grounds are very nice--the service and food left a lot to be desired. The portions were quite small, and the food itself was mediocre at best. We ordered drinks, which were fair, but we have had much better cocktails on the beach at Isla Mujeres. Our meal took about forty-five minutes to arrive, and the dishes were served one at a time, leaving some of us eating while others waited. The most disappointing moment came when our order of fajitas was dropped by the waiter, who then left the spilled food on the ground for the cat to eat. By the time a new order came out, everyone at the table had already finished and we were ready to leave. Overall, I would pass on this restaurant. Perhaps they can manage service for two people, but handling a table of twelve was clearly beyond their capacity.

A really lovely hotel in Valladolid. I stayed here for one night as a part of a bachelorette trip,…read moreand I so enjoyed my time here (and in Valladolid in general! Definitely worth a visit). There's a beautiful boutique next to check in. It's small, but there are some dresses and purses and shoes and etc to browse. All really lovely stuff! The space between check in to your rooms is open air and there's a pool and some seats where you can order food or drinks or else just relax. There's also a really cute stray cat who wanders around. The rooms had everything you could want: a hammock, yummy smelling soaps and shampoos, AC, a TV (I believe?), a desk, a comfy bed. The windows are more like shutters which is unfortunate bc AC escapes and noise gets in. Apparently some dogs were howling around 2a.m., but I didn't hear because I always sleep with earplugs. We had breakfast before heading out for the day and it was really yummy! I split with a friend and I think we got a tortilla / egg/ bean dish (?) and an avocado toast + some fruit and tea. They had tons of options so everyone (even the vegetarians among us) found something we liked. Such a wonderful spot if you're looking for someplace to stay during your trip to Valladolid!
