I had booked this hotel for an very cheap rate on Priceline and because it is directly across from Amsterdam Central Station, and now I know why it was so cheap. The rooms were much bigger than elsewhere in Europe, which was what I expected of Amsterdam, but desperately needed updating. Even though I had requested a room with one double bed in advance, I was first led to a room with two twin beds, then reluctantly given a room with one double and one twin bed after complaining and threatening to go to the Ibis hotel across the street. Inside the room, there was only one outlet near the door and one for a shaver in the bathroom. In addition, the TV was at least 15-20 years out-of-date and took up half of the small desk in the room. Also, to get to my room on the 2nd floor (3rd floor in reality since in Europe), I had to walk through a number of doors and take the stairs to the elevator and then the stairs from the elevator to my room with a large, heavy suitcase.
The only redeeming aspects of this hotel were the good-sized bathroom, the free breakfast, and its prime location across from the central station. read more
