Disappointment. Contacted hotel directly, asking for management, to avoid reviewing online. Was told I'd be called on Monday. Happy Wednesday. "Boutique" hotel photos should say it all.

Gorgeous hotel. What brought us in was the sign out front for the blueberry lemonade. We missed that it comes spiked, but the bartender said she could make them Virgin. They were super delicious, and just what we needed as a pick me up from mopeding around the island. We were annoyed though when she tried charging us the full price when we ordered them without alcohol. While she corrected it, it was still annoying.

The Cafe with the best warm donuts.

I've stayed here a few years back. Stayed this past weekend for my wedding Anniversary and it was amazing. I love how they have renovated. It feels cool as welcoming. The staff is on point. You can tell the client is top priority. From the time we checked in to when we left. We have a 3 year old and they made her feel so special. The minute we came down the stairs they called her my name. She would go up and give them hugs. Faith and Ashley. There were two others and I'm so bumped I missed their names. Listen, if you are looking for a great experience. Stay here. There's a cafe in the lobby and they serve warm sugar donuts every morning. A restaurant downstairs and they have brunch, raw bar at 3 and dinner at 6. We will be back next year. Can't wait!

Almira's bed

We stayed at the Manisses Hotel for just one night and it was delightful. In mid-June you can still score a deal mid-week and the weather cooperated beautifully. We (me, hubby and sis) had 2 rooms on the main floor - Almira and Antoinette. Both were just off the lobby with windows onto the front porch. Almira is the smaller of the rooms, while Antoinette is the corner room with much more space. The main issue I have is that Almira (the one we took) gets very stuffy. There is no A/C on property and each room has a fan as well as a ceiling fan. That would work OK if we could have opened the windows for some breeze, but with visitors on the porch just outside our window, it was an issue of privacy (open window a little, but keep shade down was the best we could come up with). A screen or something would be a nice addition to the Almira. Little touches were very welcome - a decanter of brandy made my hubby very happy and the wine & cheese hour was enjoyable. I didn't mind the very short walk up to the 1661 Inn, the incredible views from the deck and open porch were well worth it! Some of the nibbles weren't being replenished which was a bummer, but the wine was flowing, so I survived. The included champagne breakfast was also quite good with a nice variety of hot and cold items. Service at the Manisses front desk was efficient and friendly, she also gave us a discount to Aldo's scooters. The Manisses properties have a nice loyalty program. Any money spent on property (hotels, restaurants) is added up and once you hit a certain level, you get a free night's stay. Just be sure to keep your receipts if you eat at the restaurants, it's added up manually and you need to tell them. We're really looking forward to going back - I do think I'll pass on the Almira though. It was good for one night, but I do like the breeze and privacy, so we'll try another room - that's the fun of it!

What a restaurant! The atmosphere is absolutely spectacular. The food phenomenal. And Shane and the other servers were fantastic. Thank you for a great ending to our vacation!

This way we could make reservations for dinner, etc. She checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. This is off season and she was by herself. I have to say she handled it very well. We had family on the trip with us who joined us for drinks and she attended to all of us and the other quests. She was the attending to the front desk, bartender, etc. She did not miss a beat. Impressive! We were on the island in Sept. My friends stayed here and loved it. I come often and have had brunch here, but this is the first time we've stayed. The room was spacious. My 10yr old loved her pull out bed. She asked us to stay longer she had so much fun. Our room was the Tosh. The view is great, they have cheese and wine in the evenings and like I said I've had their brunch, it's great. Emily checked us out and I asked if she would be there in Aug/Sept. Told her wood call her to book and I look forward to seeing her. She was amazing!! I also have to give Rita a shout out. I met her in Sept and she was such a gem to my friends who were staying there. They are all very accommodating.

First off, there was "Robyn"- I'd heard previous reviews , but honestly; until you meet her, you just have no idea how special this woman is!! When I say, she's a ray of sun shine-I mean it. She exudes positivity, kindness, graciousness!! She greeted us immediately, and gave us a brief orientation. Offered us lemon infused water, showed us where we can grab fluffy beach towels,, etc. gave us a tour of the grounds and incredible views. Then she showed us our room. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area-and made some wonderful dining recommendations. Our room was very cute. It has a country cottage appeal-bedding was high quality, as were the bath towels and toiletries. Our bed was so comfortable with the best pillows I've ever slept on. Bath robes were also provided, which was also such a nice touch. Our daily breakfast delivery was very special. I loved all of it-there was such an attention to detail-like a ramekin of Maldon salt flakes to add to the tomatoes on my lox and cream cheese bagel. Orange juice and coffee press every morning, and always a well balanced breakfasts. Eating off of hand crafted pottery made the meals even more appealing. I loved all those special touches. Any time we'd see Robyn in passing, she would always greet us with her beautiful smile and wonderful energy. She is such an asset to sea breeze. I'm sure the proprietors must know what an absolute gem they have in Robyn. Our room was close to the main road-so we did have to deal with a bit of street noise, however, it was also ticked all the way in back, which felt more private than some of the other cottages.

A beautiful porch that surrounds the hotel. Seated immediately was a gift from the big man upstairs. They were definitely busy. But, we managed to get a seat for our 5 people. We were seated outside in the back of the porch. There was a lot of room to move around. Once seated we viewed the menu. We all opted for a few things. The street corn Quesadilla, lobster bisque, ancient grains bowl, Chicken Caesar Wrap. We opted for no desert and went elsewhere to spread the wealth. The food was good. They do what they can we the resources they have. It can't be easy with the way they have to get supplies in and out, and keeping things fresh. Overall everything was good. No complaints if you keep that in mind. The wait staff was ok. I think they maybe have been overwhelmed, which in turn our waiter went "missing" to the point where we had to ask someone for something and it turned out to be the manager. Otherwise everything was ok.

I especially love sitting outside, where you can watch the ferries come in, people strolling by, and catch a gorgeous sunset over the water. This time I brought friends along, a group of 11 including three kids. Since it was the end of the season, the place wasn't crowded and we were one of the few tables outside. Our waiter, a kind young man with the cutest British accent, took excellent care of us. He managed our large group with ease and made sure the kids' meals came out quickly. Every dish at the table was a hit, but the standout was one of the daily specials--the fresh-caught tuna. My husband ordered it, and OMG... it was phenomenal. This place is officially locked into my Block Island rotation.
