Nice, clean hotel in the perfect location of Waikiki Beach! Affordable price and an ideal location. The pool is small, but you don't go to Hawaii for the pools, right?! The Monkey Pod access was kind of a let down only because it's all inside and no views of the ocean. The access to the juice and water was nice but not worth the upgrade, especially when you're already booking a room with a balcony. They also don't have beach towels for pool or beach use so keep that in mind. But it was great for us for a one night stay before catching our cruise the next day.

Just got back from a quick last-minute three day trip to Oahu for my birthday. Booked this hotel for the location and the rates, also had great reviews on TripAdvisor. We are so so so so glad we chose this hotel! First of all, they have a really good local discount, and the price can't be beat for this class of hotel. The rooms are small, but have been renovated and are quite clean. We had a king room with a nice size TV and a good size fridge/freezer. We really appreciate it. They have a free ice machine and filtered water machine as well as a microwave. My husband has a pretty strict diet so we tend to bring food with us on vacation and he was able to use the big fridge in the microwave quite often. They also have quite operated laundry if you need it The housekeeping staff were so kind and friendly and super helpful, offering us extra towels and supplies whenever we saw them in the hall. The highlight of this hotel is the staff. From the second we walked in, John greeted us, (I recognized his name from the TripAdvisor reviews) and when I mentioned it, he just lit up! He lives up to all the review hype!! Apparently he is also a dream at the poolside bar, so make sure you go see him! Speaking of the poolside bar, we were so lucky to have Vincent as our bartender, he is SO sweet, so nice, makes incredible drinks and was so cute to make a big deal about my birthday . We had the best time just chatting away with him, I could've spent all day up there hanging with him . AND the drinks are absolutely delicious! The ube piña colada and the mango mule were so delish! The pool also has a nice deck with chairs and lounging couches and large outdoor games like Connect 4 and Jenga. The infinity pool is small and definitely heated and has a nice view of the city because it's on a upper floor. Super clean pool and deck area, awesome for lounging with a great vibe. We also had the amazing pleasure of meeting Shaun Kennedy, the ops manager - what a guy!! Ended up chatting with him for a long time and he also went way out of his way to celebrate my birthday - he and Vincent put a happy birthday song on the speakers by the pool and brought cheesecake with a candle! I felt so special. Then when I got back to my room, Shaun had arranged a surprise in our room- a cake made out towels arranged on the bed and a box of macadamia nut chocolates Whoever is doing the hiring here should win a gold medal and all these folks should get raises or bonuses because they are the reason we'll be coming back!! Alice at the front desk was also so sweet and so friendly and helpful. We will definitely make this our go-to hotel when we come to the island. We live on Big Island so will come more often now that we have a spot we really like to stay. Tha k you everyone who made our stay amazing. See you again soon

That was a terrible experience. I would recommend to stay here to my enemies and exes.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at this hotel we both agree this hotel is more suitable for couples or individuals that are just doing a simple getaway or staycation. If you have a big family with children you may want to stay some where else where it's more family oriented only saying that because it's a very simple hotel to stay at. The saltwater pool was something we visited every morning. We noticed if you go later during the day it gets crowded around 4pm and it's a small pool. But it's super nice when you have the pool to yourself so you can actually swim in it. Our room (terrace penthouse) was simple and small the terrace its self was nice to just hang out during mornings and nights. The bathroom was spacious. The beds and pillows were okay it isn't anything luxurious so just a heads up on that. The monkey pod room however came in handy. It's a cute little esthetic room that offers drinks and snacks up until 8pm. It came with the room we went with you'd have to pay if your room doesn't come with the monkey pod access. Customer service: Customer service was awesome! Kansas is a wonderful individual his hospitality is amazing so we just want to say thank you Kansas for making us smile and laugh and we notice how hard you work!!! Upon check out Kansas was working front and valet which I can only imagine how hectic it could be with it just being him. Your hard work and efforts are not unnoticed we appreciate you!!! Kaya did a wonderful job at checking us in as well thank you to the both of you !!! Bartender John was amazing as well!!! His hospitality was so comforting!! We enjoyed our drinks and shots and small talk with him!! I didn't get the other bartenders name but he was wonderful as well so thank you both for awesome bartending service and hospitality!!! DRINKS AND FOOD I RECOMMEND mango mule - tasty Hard lilikoi lemonade - my favorite (I wanted to try the drink with chili pepper vodka but unfortunately they weee out of the chili pepper vodka so with that being said I'm going to assume that one is a must try as well!!) Mai tai is strong of course my husband got a quick buzz off of there Mai tai lol Ube colada / cold brew colada were nice if anything I really enjoyed the cold brew one over the ube but both were delicious We sampled the pizzas that were alright it could be better the mozzarella sticks where okay I figure they would be alittle better if they were hot when it got to us but if I could just say the one item we both were kinda disappointed about was the garlic fries...they looked nothing like the picture and were so cold when we got them we wish it was better but maybe this review will help out just a little bit with that...it literally was naked fries sprinkled with grated Parmesan the kind you could buy from the store we were both bummed about that but like I said maybe this review will change it up. ATTENTION: This hotel doesn't offer free parking its valet only and it's $45 a day which my husband and I were both like oh boy lol but ayye at least our vehicle was safe and being watched over, since you never know what would happen in Waikiki it's expensive so if you can work around this then good on you!!! Anywho our stay here overall was nice the hotel isn't a luxury hotel so just keep that in mind it's simple and offers the necessities. If you don't plan on staying in your hotel room for majority of your vacation then this place is perfect !! I'll give this hotel a 5 stars based on the friendly customer service. Cause really they make the hotel pleasant to stay in. LOCATION: Before I forget the location of this hotel is perfect!!!! You're right in the beginning of the strip so the walking adventures are well worth it!!! Your walking distance to practically everything!! Just make sure you where comfortable foot wear so you don't get any blisters from all the walking and to wear your sunscreen!! lol GodBless to your staff and I hope all of you know how much you are appreciated for your hard work and wonderful customer service

Room clean and nice Amenities couldn't ask for more Location the best Parking? That's Honolulu's fault Customer service? hit or miss Accommodation and just pure hotel hospitality? Needs improvement. Are they able to adjust on the fly ? No Did they fix my issue ? No Shall I come back here? Probably not. It's the hotel business if you are able to fix then do it. Tons of hotels in this area overall it could really be better Bought out by a new Korean outfit. Needs improvement really.

Actual photo of hotel looks nothing like the falsely advertised hotel on the website.
    Jamie C.

The photos on the website are entirely falsified and misrepresenting of what is actually happening in the hotel. It's a disaster; our door handle literally fell off one morning as we left our room, the shower water does not get hot, front desk staff told us it's the best they have, the ac broke and was eventually fixed but it was so hot until then, the road noise was absurd, the amount of sirens disrupted sleep for 5 nights, there is no jacuzzi, no microwave in our room, incredibly loud, dirty as all get out and the shower didn't drain, it was a pool of dirty water as you shower. Only positive was front desk staff were awesome, would not stay again for free.

Halepuna Hotel This…read moreis a review of my experience staying at the Halepuna Hotel, located in Waikiki. I booked my stay via Costco Travel recommendations. WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. The tub was also spacious, if you wanted to take a bubble bath. 8TH FLOOR GYM-Equipped with a lot of machines Water dispenser Additional restrooms/shower room LAUNDRY ROOM is open 24/7 There are 3 washers and 4 dryers You can pay using your credit card or download the WASH CONNECT app *Friendly suggestions: -As a guest, bring your own laundry soap/dryer sheets--or go to the ABC Store if you forget your laundry supplies -Make sure to clean the lint trap before you put your clothes in -Put a timer on your phone to check on your clothes GARDEN -Serene, tranquil, peaceful, spacious -------- Friendly Suggestions for Halepuna Hotel -Have a big sign stationed outside the hotel, perhaps elevate the height of the sign and add lights to it, so it's easy to spot for first time visitors ------- All in all I enjoyed staying at the Halepuna Hotel. The services and amenities provided were excellent. I can't wait to visit again soon! Mahalo Halepuna Hotel!

We dined in at a nearby restaurant, then walked around seeking Kona coffee. Our suite was ready around 3 PM. The suite was very spacious and I am mostly impressed with the cleanliness. Although, I am disappointed that the adult pool closes at 6 PM, which all the other pools close at 9 PM. There is a private beach area, which my kids enjoyed. We enjoyed the brief firework show from our balcony suite. We attended the on site Huli Huli event, which was quite disappointing. However, on my most recent trip, I decided to try the Hyatt Regency, thinking the lounge access and more resort-style atmosphere might be a better fit for my elderly parents. We booked three rooms for our family, and I can confidently say that this stay completely changed my perspective and that is largely thanks to Grace at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Grace went above and beyond to make sure our check-in experience was seamless and welcoming. Traveling with elderly parents can sometimes be challenging, but she handled everything with such patience, warmth, and genuine care. She was incredibly attentive to our needs, thoughtfully ensuring that our rooms were convenient and comfortable for everyone in our group. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the front desk, maintenance team, and all the staff members we interacted with were all very friendly and really helpful despite the difficult circumstances. Their positive attitude made a big difference in our stay. The location is def a huge plus, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it super convenient. She last visited 5 years ago with some girlfriends and always spoke highly of the property and hotel. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon for our 9 day stay. Immediately I noticed that every employee I contacted went above and beyond to greet me and make sure if I needed help they would handle my situation. Staff here from valet, pool staff, housekeeping, bell desk, hotel check in, and even landscaping are well trained and operating on a higher than 90% of hotels out there. This level of service continued from our first to last day folks. Wendy our housekeeper was awesome and remember to tip appropriately! I want to talk about a common complaint I see in the reviews. Cost. I hate to slap you in the face with this but prices aren't what they used to be. Yes, this is a very expensive property. For us, it was worth the splurge that maybe will only be done every 5 years, but there's a reason for the high price. This hotel is roughly 2,500 miles away from the continental US and in my opinion one of the best ocean front properties in the world and you have to pay for that. If you are going to complain about cost then please stay home. Everything on an island that isn't naturally there has to be shipped there. So cost is obviously higher. I was last in Waikiki in 1995 as a child. I remember it then and seeing it again now was amazing. The food, city, and the ability to rent a car and leave the city in a flash is something unique in this paradise. The Sheraton adults only pool and the views that the ocean side hotel rooms provide are unparalleled. The kids pool is also above and beyond for the under 16-year-old age group. God speed Sheraton Waikīkī, I will return.
