(Woah... this review was written several years ago but stuck in my drafts... so take everything with a grain of salt because I am sure stuff has changed since!)
We came for a dot scale conference which was held down the street at Le theatre de Paris. They paid for our room since my husband was a speaker. We stayed in room 405 - from what we can tell, one of the largest rooms in the property, with a tiny balcony overlooking the street intersection.
Pros:
- Cute boutique hotel
- Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff (we got a crib and a fridge in our room for baby, they allowed a stroller to be left for us by a friendly local who leant us hers when she saw we didn't have one, they microwaved leftovers for us, they put our baby cooler ice in the freezer)
- The breakfast on the lower floor (accessible by stairs only) was good and bad long hours (6:30-10:30am every day) - as others have stated, the ability to fresh-squeeze orange juice being a highlight (Offerings included: scrambled eggs, sausages, croissants, bread, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, apple sauce, coffee, juices)
- Standard shower (though we heard some rooms had bathtub with a shower head) - best water pressure I have ever experienced in a hotel shower!
- Lift available (though small and could accommodate up to 4 people, or 1 person with luggage, and was a tight squeeze to get an umbrella stroller to fit)
- King size bed was firm and comfortable (not saggy or too soft!)
- Complimentary drink every day during happy hour from 6-8pm
- Convenient to public transportation (just a few minutes from Moulin Rouge)
Cons:
- Very loud drunken people stream by at the wee hours of the day (sometimes very loud cars too)
- AC wasn't working for the first couple days (up to 28.5C in the room! Thankfully the windows opened to cool the room, but see above)
- Shower leaked to create big puddles if not careful
- Random machine "buzzing" noise outside every once in a while
- Disturbed to replace the monthly magazine when we had the do not disturb sign out (this was an emergency and couldn't wait, apparently) read more
