consistent plumbing issues with bath tub, would not drain properly, required multiple visits from maintenance.

My horrible experience with Intercontinental Le Grand Paris began with the reservation. I called months in advanced and spoke with an IHG representative. I told them my girlfriend & I were heading to Paris to celebrate New Years, and I would be proposing during our trip, so I wanted to make sure that the entire trip went perfectly. My previously stays at Intercontinental properties (Tokyo, Seoul, San Diego) have always been very impressive, so I expected similar. I told the representative that I wanted a nice, spacious room with a view. I also told them I had points that I wanted to use. I was INSTRUCTED to book the room available through points (a Cozy Room), and they would put in for an upgrade or I would have the opportunity to pay the difference for a larger room. I did as instructed and even called multiple times leading up to our trip to confirm this. When we arrived, we were placed in the smallest, most poorly kept broom closet of a room. I have pictures to show how the desk was broken and falling apart, causing a safety hazard, the closet door broke off its hinges and almost collapsed on my girlfriend, there was constant plumbing problems / flooding with the bathtub, there were missing handles on some of the drawers (which were very limited to begin with). When the bellman dropped off our luggage, I asked if majority of the rooms were like this, and he said 'No, this is the smallest room on the property. Bad view too'. Sure enough, when I checked the view, I had a wonderful view of the exhaust ducts from the adjacent building. Not a hint of sky, no view of the beautiful Parisian architecture that surrounds the property. I immediately called the front desk to find a solution, but to my dismay I was told continuously that there was nothing they could do. I was assured that I would be put on a cancellation list, and that as soon as a larger room was available, we would be moved out of room #3121. It is criminal to charge what they charge and place someone in that corner broom closet. Even according to the bellman, it is not suitable for even one person to stay, especially when staying for over a week. Our vacation passed by, more and more problems happened with the room, and we continued to hear apology after apology, but no room change every occurred, no compensation for our terrible experience at the property. No manager ever came to check on us, despite the constant calls to fix the problems with the room. So despite following the instructions per the IHG representative, and spending approximately $10,000 worth of points, our engagement trip was severely marred by the most uncomfortable, dilapidated, and unsafe room, with an entire hotel management team that chose to do nothing to fix the situation. I will NEVER recommend Intercontinental Le Grand Paris.

This is a wonderful historic hotel in the heart of Paris. It's very conveniently located just steps from the Opera metro station for getting around the city as well as the Auber RER station if you're heading for Disneyland. The entrance is on a small street and is not very grand, but there are staff to help with your luggage. Inside is a small lobby and reception area which opens into a large and beautiful open dining and seating area. The decor is very historic with lots of period pieces and appropriate decor and artwork throughout the hotel. The rooms are very richly appointed with beautiful blues including gorgeous pillows and thick curtains and furniture with dark wood. This gives the room a very warm and luxurious yet cozy feel. They are small but decent by European standards. The bathroom features a bathtub and an extremely small shower stall that is sure to result in a bumped head or elbow due to its small size. Bathroom toiletries are provided and are actually made in France. Towels are wonderfully soft as are the sheets, and the bed is quite comfortable. Service was generally quite friendly from check-in to check-out. The concierges are very knowledge, but they did not seem particularly warm or friendly. Just courteous and efficient. I would recommend indulging in a club level room which affords access to the large and beautiful club lounge on the second floor. It features a fairly extensive breakfast buffet with hot and cold choices. You can ask for eggs and omelettes to order as well, but we only discovered this by chance as there's no sign advertising this. Otherwise the selections really did not change from morning to morning. Some variety would have been better. There are also evening canapés and sweets. This selection varied from night to night but only featured cold options. Having one or two hot choices would have been good. The best feature is the free flowing champagne (and wine) which is available morning to night. Soft drinks and juices are also readily available, and in the evening more spirits and liquors are offered as well. Overall this was a lovely stay in the heart of Paris, and we definitely plan to return for our annual Parisian holiday!

Right I'm the heart of the city - this hotel was so close to all of the touristy spots we wanted to visit. We ended up walking to most of them. Staff is always dressed properly and ready to serve. Make sure to get the daily breakfast buffet included in your stay - well worth it with a large assortment of foods and delicious too.

Lovely hotel within proximity of everthing. They were doing construction during my time of visit but barely noticeable. I booked with my IHG rewards for a free night and as a platinum member recieved an upgrade. 4th floor facing the opera house is recommended. Staff was wonderful and made our first visit to Paris very welcoming. Felt safe staying here. Thank you Qi Yang for your hospitality! As a first timer, try to book an early flight arrival and take the Rossy Bus from CDG to Oprea House its a 5 min walk and they have luggage holders in the bus. Its 11 euro per person 1 way and will save you $$$ from the taxi and Ubers. Avoid taxis if you can and take the Ubers, Ubers are fixed rate. At 5am the hotel called for a taxi and 10 min into the trip to the airport the taxi charged an addition 5 euros on top of the 50 eruo agreed upon stating "tarrif tax." Complete BS! Noting to do with the hotel but wanted to put it out there.

When we decided to book our second night in Paris at the Intercontinental Le Grand (top category 9 hotel), there were some high expectations that came with it. First and foremost, the hotel is absolutely humongous, or should I say grandiose. So grandiose that you can easily get lost walking through its numerous wings. Since we were here for a special occasion, they upgraded us to an upper level room in the Opera Wing. Merci Beaucoup! Pros: Fantastic location Elegant furniture, artwork, spiral staircase Charming winter garden atrium High ceilings Complimentary Champagne/Patisseries from Cafe de la Paix! Gorgeous (in your face) balcony view of the Paris Opera House (Palais Garnier) Cons: Train noise Small shower Thermostat Cosmetics/Toiletries Outdated spa, no Jacuzzi Key card malfunction Bigger doesn't exactly mean better. All in, I had a pretty good experience; but I definitely prefer quality over quantity. All the exquisite little touches, or lack thereof, definitely add up.

I had a free night from my points here during a one day layover. I got an upgraded room with a king bed and cookies and still water brought to me as a gift. Everyone in reception and the waitstaff who open the doors for you are great. As a person who can't speak French it's a little intimidating to walk in to a room of people smiling and telling you nice things (I hope!) in a language you don't understand but I managed. Staff does speak English. I had a great quiet sleep and found it easy to walk to other destinations (or take a train) to other parts of the city. When I was leaving, I needed to pay the city tax. The front desk woman (bloodshot hair, working around 10am for any managers of the company who are reading) was super kind and heard that I had change rolling around even though I tried to pay with a bill. I told her I didn't want to be an asshole because they were all 1,2, and 5 cent coins I'd collected over various trips back and forth. She suggested and took the time to count all my coins and give me bigger coins (50s, 1s) to replace them and make it so I didn't need to lug them around anymore. So kind! I was shocked and it was a small gesture hat really put me in a nice mood as I walked to the Roissybus to get back to CDG. On a normal day I can't afford this place but I'll be back if I can. My only reason for giving five stars is that it's so big it's hard to find things. I spent 20 mins following signs for the fitness center and kept running into doors closed off by construction. The signs don't direct you to the right place and that's really annoying.

inside the room, lol i went shopping but this was the only pic i had

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The location is a little ways away from the hustle and bustle of the city, which can be nice but maybe not on your first trip to Paris where there is a lot of site seeing to do. Of course, there is a ton to see nearby but it's more of a local feeling hotel, in my opinion. I've stayed here twice and both times the hotel room was gorgeous. The first time I was with a friend who worked for Intercon and they really rolled out the red carpet for us. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Opera house and it was amazing. The second time my room was still really nice but there's definitely something weird about their king-size beds. I think it's actually a European thing but the king size bed is two twins pushed together but you can actually feel the divide between the two. It's very strange but the linens and pillows were very comfortable. No movies or anything like that on the tv and hardly any English channels, but such is France and traveling abroad. The rates are decent and the Sunday brunch in the hotel restaurant is out of control!

    Room 3103 view

We had used our rewards nights to stay at this hotel for 6 nights. The reservation was for a "standard" room. We did have a "one bed" preference but were issued a room with two twin beds placed next to each other. I guess it works if we were a couple who wanted to social distance during our sleep. We had to call someone out to fix the hot water plumbing twice since it was running only cold water in the shower. They got to it right away. Hotel is at a good location and walking distance to metro, restaurants and shopping. Staff were wonderful. We will likely try other hotels in Paris for future stays since we didn't like the twins beds during our stay.

Love this hotel. When you walk in, you are greeted by a beautiful display of flowers !! The lady who checked us in - Qi Yang, was honestly the best front desk person I've met. The hotel has a wide open atrium and as we were walking past the front desk after checking in, she noticed that I was pregnant and offered us an inclusive breakfast buffet in the morning. Talk about generosity ! The service offered by this lady alone vastly makes this hotel stand out from others ! The breakfast Buffett was nothing to shout home about but it was still a good meal esp when it is free. But i wouldn't pay for it, would advise to go out and enjoy one of paris' famous patisserie shop :) Room was great (Qi Yang) even offered us a room close to the elevator so I didn't have to walk that far along the corridors. We could walk out to a tiny roof top balcony, bathroom was very spacious for European standard, clean with shower gels and shampoo that have great smell. Definitely a 5 star hotel with 5 star service !!

Absolute perfection! If you're considering this as your base for a trip to Paris, look no further and book it now! As a Platinum IHG Ambassador, I was immediately interested in IHG properties for our stay in France. After much research on TripAdvisor, I settled on using points/reward nights for 2 nights at the Intercontinental and 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Notre Dame. Bookings were easily made online for a trip to Paris during the last week of February. Woohoo. I contacted the Intercon in advance of our stay for a couple reasons. I wanted to ensure we booked a king non-smoking room, and that we could have an oscillating floor fan in case our room was hot (something mentioned in a TripAdvisor review). I also contacted the Concierge for assistance in making some dinner reservations. Service was incredibly prompt and courteous via email from both departments. I sent numerous requests to the concierge, which were all answered promptly and sorted out for us. Absolute stellar amazing service, even before we arrived! Our flight got in extremely early, so we got to the hotel expecting to drop our bags and venture out into Paris. Much to my surprise, on a Thursday morning at around 8:30am, we got checked in AND upgraded!!! What a terrific way to start our day. I must also compliment Petrus (sp?) who worked behind the counter that morning for really providing courteous booking to us. I realize that my IHG status may have been the result of this very early check-in and upgrade and so I'm not at all saying its the norm; I'm just giving public kudos to the Le Grand for their excellent welcome to us! Might I also add here - this was my first trip to Paris! So imagine how ecstatic I was to receive such a warm welcome from the front desk; definitely the best I've ever received from an IHG property. Our room was luciously beautiful, located on the 4th floor on the Capucines wing. You could glimpse the Eiffel Tower from our balcony, which I enjoyed viewing every evening as it sparkled on the hour. I should note that although we didn't face the Opera House, I actually really liked seeing the Eiffel Tower, so it was a win for me! Also, even though we faced the street, we really didn't notice street noise at all, save for the occasional siren. Having the oscillating floor fan also helped a great deal with the street noise, but it also kept us very comfortable. Our room was equipped with a really great thermostat that kept our room cool; I just like having air circulated and that was super nice. Our room was absolutely huge, complete with a shower and a bath tub (a bathroom with a beautiful view! woo!) and his & hers closets. The bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, although I must note was on wheels and just two twin beds pushed together. It provided much amusement through our stay, but I could imagine how someone could be irritated with a bed that moves around that much. I was so smitten with our hotel room that I promptly cancelled my two nights at the Notre Dame and booked two more at the Le Grand, just so we could stay here for our entire 4 night stay in Paris! Voila! Being tired and hungry, we decided to shower, get some french toast room service, and take a nap. What a great way to start our Paris adventure! The concierge continued to provide their stellar service - via email, I might add! - throughout our entire stay. I would often think of something while we were out and about and would simply email them, and it would happen via a little letter under our door. Wifi was complimentary since I was an IHG member, and it was super fast and FREE. Most importantly, the location is perfection. Remember - this was my first stay in Paris - I totally gambled on where to stay just based on my IHG membership. I had NO IDEA how amazing this location is! Or how easy it is to walk to the sights in Paris! We walked every day despite the chilly weather, and LOVED IT. It was super fast to walk to the Louvre from here! We walked all the way to St. Germain des Pres and back one day; another day we walked to the Louvre/Tuileries Gardens/l'Orangerie/Musee d'Orsay/Sainte Chapelle/Notre Dame - AND BACK! - all in one day. We never took the bus or Metro (even though they are SUPER close and convenient to this hotel); we just stuck to walking and/or taking Uber if we got stuck in a sudden downpour. We also enjoyed walking to Madeleine, which is so close to this hotel. We're foodies, so having Fauchon, Hediard, Mariage Freres, Maille, Laduree, and more all right around the corner was pure heaven for us! Please note - Uber is alive and well in Paris! SO convenient and is one less reason to carry a bunch of euros on your person! Huge note: the Roissy bus stop is literally RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! It takes you straight from CDG to this hotel. Please consider it if the Roissy bus schedule meshes well with your flight itinerary!

This is a very beautiful hotel and quite pricey. We booked one of their regular rooms. It had a queen sized bed, a desk, a night stand and a tv. Thats really all that would fit in the room. If it werent for the window you'd feel as if you were trapped in a tiny box. The bathroom was surprisingly a decent size compared to the room. My boyfriend would argue with me on this statement. He's 6'6 so fitting in the shower was a struggle for him. Im 5'3 so the low hanging shower head and the close walls were no big deal for me but very difficult for him. There is a fridge under the tv but make note, its weighted and you will be charged for items you take (like in vegas). The pillows are very flat so we had to order extras to be brought up. They only ever give you two towels so if you're someone like me who prefers one for hair and one for body, you'll need to order more as well. They say there are irons in the room but there arent so again its something you'll have to call and request. For any females, your straightener, curling iron and hairdryer will not work in the bathroom plug outlets no matter what type of converter you use. They will however work in the plugs above the desk. There is a restaurant and bar in house if you prefer not to venture out. If you do go out theres plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The Louvre is actually only a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel and the opera house is just around the corner. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Not all of them speak English but they do try. If given the option to stay here again I would definitely accept. The hotel is pricy but for the location, beauty and comfort it was worth it.

My stay at Le hotel 123 Sebastopol was excellent! This hotel really offers a lot of value. We…read morestayed 5 nights over Christmas and the hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The hotel itself is beautiful with a French film theme. We stayed in room 512 and loved it. It had a lovely balcony with an enjoyable street view and the room decor was charming. The size of our room was roomy enough to suite our needs while in Paris. The bathroom had good lighting and the pocket door was a solid door which I appreciate for a change after staying in 6 hotels in 1 month and 4 out 6 had frosted glass bathroom doors. Personally, I think glass doors look pretty cool but not very practical for bathroom privacy. This hotel offers free soft drinks and bottled water replenished daily in your room's mini fridge. All the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. I don't speak French except for a few phases and the staff made me feel at ease and comfortable with speaking to me in English. The hotel offers breakfast for a fee. I included it in our room reservation and I believe it was worth it. They have a nice variety of breakfast options to satisfy including croissants, pastries, bread, eggs, veggies, waffles, pancakes, cheeses, fruits, meats (extra kiddos for having poultry sausages aside from bacon for guest who don't eat pork). Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7am to 10:30am and until 11am on Saturday and Sunday. Another great thing about this hotel is that it offers complimentary snacks in the lounge from 2pm to 2am. Mostly cakes, cookies, juices, tea, and coffee. Also, this hotel chain provides customers with a network around Paris where you can stop into any of their hotels for snacks and to use the restroom whenever you want.

Excellent, charming boutique hotel in the heart of Montmartre. Rooms are a good size (especially…read morefor Paris), with comfortable beds and a decent amount of places to hang clothes. Bathroom was immaculate with a nice shower. Front desk staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Hard to beat the location, in the heart of Montmartre. Tons of great little cafes and pastry shops (but the restaurants and bars open late into the night, so be aware that you might hear a lot of happy people when you're getting ready for bed). 10 minute walk to Sacre-Coeur (and the walk itself is really scenic and pleasant), 5-6 minute walk to nearby Metro stops like Blanche and Abbesses. Be aware that the walk from Blanche is a little uphill, and the Abbesses station has a seemingly endless staircase (so use the lift there). The only negative I encountered was that the ground floor (where the front desk and breakfast cafe is) often had a bathroom-y smell. This did not extend to the upper floors where the guest rooms are. But overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, and I would also highly recommend staying in Montmartre when visiting Paris.

I found a GREAT deal on Travelzoo for the hotel Basss, which I had to prepay, but that was fine! I…read morewas a little reticent to stay in the Montemarte, as it is a bit of hike from the traditional tourist spots, but I ended up LOVING it. The charming neighborhood feel was well worth the 20 minute or so metro ride into town. (A couple of nights we took taxis, which were about 15 euros from the center of paris.) The hotel itself is small, but totally fit our needs. On trip advisor there are lots of complaints about room sizes, but I think we lucked out and had a room on the 6th (top) floor, which had an adorable balcony overlooking the rooftops of Montemarte! Such a dream. Yes, the room was smaller than you are probably used to, with limited storage for clothes, but the bathroom was sized well and the wifi was great. All the employees were super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast spread was honestly great and super filling. I would totally recommend this place to friends travelling to Paris, especially if you can get a great deal
