I actually liked this little hotel even if it was a touch difficult to find at first. It's located a mere 5-10 minutes from the Barberini Station (depending on how fast you walk) and is about 10 minutes from the top of the Spanish Steps. What I love about it is that it's just enough out of the way of the tourist-packed areas to be quiet and due to the large amounts of financial businesses around there were some great spots for dinner where the only language you heard inside was Italian.
Location isn't everything, though. The hotel itself was small but clean. The room was simple in it's decor but the layout made the room feel open and warm. The bed was soft - touch it and you'd probably pass out! - and you actually get an A/C unit. Many places in Italy do not offer that including hotels, so feel honored to have one in your room! There's also free wi-fi which was spotty at times but still usable. The breakfast was very basic with cereal, various breads, orange juice, tea, and coffee. Many old reviews say you have to walk up four flights of stairs to reach the hotel, and while it's true the hotel is on the fourth floor (1-3 are apartments), there's now an elevator that is very quick and takes you right to the top. Just remember if you use it to go down that you want Floor "0"!
The only issue I had was at night when the street-side door is locked. It's locked due to the apartments so you have to buzz the hotel to let you in. The first night we weren't sure which of the five buttons to push, but once we were finally in the man at the desk told us to try them all. Other than that, it was the perfect hotel location and a great price as well. read more
