    Rooftop space

The suite we had was modern, comfy and well decorated with two exception, the curtains are not blackout and the bed was WAY too firm. The mattress was similar to a hardwood floor and they added a soft mattress pad to it but it was only 1" thick. My daughter asked if she could sleep on the couch because the bed hurt. The checkin staff gave us the hours of the hot tub but that's all. The bar and restaurant didn't really appeal to us so we went out for meals, the is no breakfast available even for purchase. We did use the hot tub which was great and the rooftop space was pretty cool. Note the towels are indoors versus near the hot tub. We did not use our balcony that I paid a significant up charge to have due to yellow-jackets and the view was of a parking garage We used valet, this weekend was really crowded and I was grateful for the service. Three stars due to the room rate of nearly $1000 a night, seemed excessive for what we got.

These shades don't help in the morning.

The hotel had a free, convenient parking ramp and the hotel's location was great for walking around Stillwater. We used the outdoor hot tub on one of the coldest days, which was a fun experience. The bed was fairly comfortable but the window shades were disappointing because they allowed so much light in, which made sleeping-in difficult. There was a lot of noise outside our window in the morning around 7:00. A man was dumping wood for the smoker, I believe, and it went on for too long. We would have liked a refrigerator in our room. It's a clean hotel and they had friendly employees. I did expect more because of the higher price of the stay.

Funny bathroom wallpaper, modern subway tile bathrooms. Halloween staycation. Ready to bar hop stillwater.

Outdoor rooftop hot tub that is open in the winter makes a fun experience! I have gone to Hotel Crosby for a staycation at least 4 times and will continue. Especially when the winter feels too heavy, a rooftop hot tub with little bonfires can go a long way. Tip: Take Monday off and stay Sunday-Monday overnight for a cheaper rate and less people. 1 night staycation? Yes. You work hard and deserve even a quicky. Ive also stayed here in the fall and it is really fun to bar hop through Stillwater and walk back without having to worry about transportation. The decor is modern and warm with a lot of character - esp the funny bathroom wallpaper depicting old timey photographs of funny people. I used to go to hotel hewing downtown Minneapolis for quick staycations, but Crosby has a similar vibe and is so much easier with the free ramp parking (behind the hotel). Minneapolis can be a load to get settled (stressy paid parking smaller rooms etc) Stillwater a breeze. Favorites: walk down the street to the velveteen rabbit speakeasy and candy store for a special treat. Walking the trail along the river is a no brainer. The matchsticks restaurant that is part of the hotel is nice if you do not want to walk (like in winter when it is quiet and less is open in Stillwater at night, so this is a nice option to stay put). Matchsticks is swanky and the food menu has fun tapa options. Like delicious mushrooms. Service has never been bad. The lobby has a HUGE movie like screen if you want to watch a game. Bonus: stop at 'just for me spa (5 min drive) and go for a quick salt cave session on your way out. Cheap enough and if you are going your first time they have a discount.

One of the best places to stay in downtown Stillwater! Pull your car up into the valet spot and walk right into the hotel lobby and get checked in! Our front desk gentleman was outstanding! We celebrated 25 years anniversary and chose the Crosby because of its outstanding Decour, great food and friendly staff! This place did not disappoint! Once you check in you can either use the valet service or simply park your car in the free parking behind the hotel which was very easy to get to and parking there was free when you choose to do it yourself! When we arrive in the room we found a bottle of wine with a card written by the hotel staff congratulating us under 25 years of marriage! They did that to give us a great guest experience and was done out of their own kindness which I thought was such a nice surprise! We got a room with the balcony overlooking the back of the hotel which was perfect. It's quiet and you can look down upon the nice patio vibes behind the hotel which is perfect for relaxing, having a drink or simply conversing with family or friends. After you check in and get settled take a walk down on the main street of Stillwater and window shop or grab some food is all of the great restaurants and shopping are within walking distance of the hotel. We had dinner at the Met stick which is connected to the hotel which was a great place. The look of the hotel matches the look of the restaurant attach witches a modern rustic feel throughout. Our waiter was full of smiles and was eager to serve us which was a nice change compared to other restaurants I've been to recently. When you're in the restaurant, the matchstick, order the deep fried cauliflower as an appetizer While you are perusing the menu. And while you're at it order one of their many craft cocktails as they are intentional with their menu and their bartender is one great mixologist ("Drink With the Stars" was a personal favorite). We ordered the Wagyu Beef and it absolutely didn't disappoint! Finish your meal with an order of beignets...you can't order just one plate because they are absolutely addictive! The hotel was definitely clean and up-to-date and was the perfect place for us to stay. The only reason I gave it a four-star review is that the rooftop hot tub looked dirty and the rooftop in general was rundown. The Lounge chairs on the rooftop deck chairs were frayed, worn out with the stuffing coming out of the cushions, etc. I love a good rooftop pool/hot tub, etc but this was disappointing as it simply wasn't kept up. But I will be back!

    She's watching you!

It's indeed a nice hotel. However the hard bed is enough for me to not stay again. Had a 2-night stay, and my back (as well as my boyfriends) was aching. Here's a snapshot of my experience: HOTEL - staff was kind and welcoming. - free parking in the ramp around corner (park on the main level). - lobby space is shared with Matchstick restaurant, creating active/ tight area. - has a fire pit in the back, as well as on the rooftop where the hot tub is. - if needed, they can provide a mini fridge. It doesn't hold much (not even a 2-ltr soda), but it's an option. -no fitness room, but there's a room labeled as such (looks like boardroom) ROOM -our's had a balcony, which we didn't use due to frigid temps, but I bet it's perfect in better weather. -very spacious, big bathroom, and no closets (Just hooks). - while yes there's a mattress pad, it doesn't do much ...the bed was hard. Told the gal at the front desk (who asked about our stay) and her response was "they're not made for bouncing"..... huh??? That said, given the cost per night I expected a little more umph in style, amenities, and comfort, but overall it was just okay.

    Tanya K.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Great location, great ambiance and great food. Love the fire pit on the roof! The bar and restaurant was great too. We all said we'd come back. Walkable to everything downtown! We did all agree a mini fridge would of been helpful. Really surprised there wasn't one.

What a great hotel in such a great town. Fell in love with Stillwater. The room was comfy and brought up an small fridge for us to keep things cold. They have a great bar and rooftop pool.

We love Hotel Crosby! We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. Amazing service and very kind people. Hot tub on the roof was fun! (did look a little dirty though). We got chocolate covered strawberries as an add on and they were delicious! Cold and perfectly tasty. Also Match Stick is always fun to hit up when we're here and it's so good! The only sad thing is the price is SO high just for one night so we will only stay here for very special occasions.

My previous experience was exceptional, thanks to your kind and welcoming staff. Their warmth and professionalism made my stay truly memorable, and I am looking forward to another delightful experience at your esteemed hotel.

Loved the atmosphere here! Just a great place to meet friends for dinner drinks. The bar is impressive with an extensive whiskey list. They have drink specials that are a great value. And the drinks are very good, not shy with the alcohol. We didn't eat anyy foood, but I'll be back to try something. There are many cozy seating spots, plus an outdoor patio in summer months. Just a great place to stop for dinner or an after dinner drink.

Hair in shower of the room sans bugs
    Lynn N.

Gross. Black bugs in and on my bed. Room 305. The initial offer was to bring up new sheets. Uhm, no. Not staying in this room-despite the fact that is 1 am. Shower was dirty too. I did move to another room (also two measly hangers, no 'fridge, and: a dirty shower. (Pics) I was very clear I wanted to speak to the Manager Monday night during the move to a different room, said it when I (mercifully checked out Tuesday am), even called back Wednesday. No Manager call. Wow. How come people don't realize you might not post and tell the truth if they just called and dealt with the truth? This hotel is on the surface cute. Dirty, buggy, horribly managed. I'll not stay here again.

    Free parking.

4 stars for aesthetics. 4 stars for comfy beds and comforters. 4 stars for rooftop ambiance. 4 stars for free parking. 4 stars for a great shower. 3 stars for attempting to be minimalistic. However minimalism doesn't mean cutting corners. That'll just lead to poor hospitality. 1 Star for the bugs bugging around the rooftop ambiance and diving into our drinks and the hot tub. A definite wine-no. 1 Star For no mini-fridge or ice machine, but thank you to the front desk who gave us buckets of ice each night. 1 Star For no closet, but thank you for the 2 hangers. 1 Star For the two coffee cups each morning. The four of us were real grateful and very sarcastic before 10am. 1 Star For the mini trash cans. We hope the mini garbage trucks are able to whisk it all away. 1 star For the one bed the teen house keeping crew made. Our mistake for leaving a book and a belt on the bed. Had we known it wouldn't made the cut for bed making we would have removed it. 1 Star For the crack between the door and the bathroom. One crack led to seeing many others. 1 Star For bedroom keys that worked only after the front desk had to give us knew ones every night. ZERO STARS FOR THE T.V. THAT RANDOMLY TURNED ON AT 3AM!! TALK ABOUT TRAUMATIZING. Not one night, but THREE nights! No one needs to be awakened by a tele-evangelist blaring into the silence of your zzzz's telling you to repent for dipping your toes in the buggy hot tub. With every request we made for it to be fixed we were assured someone would take a look at it. They did no looking and no fixing. When we approached the front desk THEY ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE TV ISSUE!! AND WE WEREN'T the only ones. We ran into a few others throughout the hotel who shared the same tv experience. So we attempted to speak to a manager. Emphasis on attempted. There must have been a hotel management conference they all attended because there wasn't a manager in sight or on site. Stars for feedback, follow up, or financial reparations TBD. Still waiting for manager Alex to call back.

I had one of the most memorable hotel stays of my life this past weekend…read more From before we even arrived, I knew we were in good hands. i booked online but called the front desk as I had a special request. Chris was incredible. We arrived a few days later and pulled right up for Lora's valet to park our car. We checked in and the lobby is so beautiful and smelled so good, we immediately felt relaxed. Our room was the Premier King and was stunning. I don't even know where to begin. The decor with the exposed old cream brick mixed with velvet and moody decor- I knew this place was somewhere special. The room was so thoughtfully designed. From the golden rabbit door knocker (there's a lot of symbolism throughout the hotel) to the sleek wardrobe with steamer and plenty of hangers (I'm happy hotels are getting away from closets that just eat up so much space), I was taking notes of everything that exceeded my expectations. The Honor bar was full of snacks and....other goodies that one may need and had local treats and cocktails too! There's a bluetooth Tivoli radio next to the bed so we were able to listen to our own tunes while we got ready for our night out. After we got home that night, we sat by the fireplace outside the hotel for a bit to wind down. It was so nice. Then we got ready for bed and let me tell you never have I ever had such a good sleep in a hotel. That bed was HEAVEN. I have a bad neck and I'm always nervous I'll have a flare up from hotel pillows and mattresses and you could not pry me out of that bed. The bathroom is amazing and the bath products are CO Bigalow- nice! The shower was literally perfect. I know this is so random to comment on but when you want to shower but not wash your hair and you aren't at your home shower, it's a bit of a drag. Not here! Idk who designed this shower but it had the perfect stream angle and flow to allow you to be warm and shower while keeping your head out of the water. Pressure was perfect. I want this shower in my home and I want it in my home today. Lastly, in a world where trendy hotels insist on BARN Doors for bathroom, Lora knows that it doesn't matter how long you've been married, bathroom visits for any reason deserve privacy and a REAL door. I loathe barn doors with every fiber of my being and I am grateful that such a hip and stylish hotel keeps the important things standard! They have a beautful restaurant, Feller, and bar, The Long Goodbye. Somehow time got away from us and we didn't get to try either! But their coffee and homemade granola bars at MADE were delicious. Overall, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and I cannot wait to come back. I will be recommending it to anyone with ears. The room, bed, shower, and customer service (Thank you, Chris you are a star!!), thoroughly exceeded my expectations. Just a note, as you're right on Main street, I suggest bringing ear plugs. The night life in Stillwater is booming on the weekend! Thank you, Lora. See you again and again.

You will immediately fall in love with this very charming hotel with a coffee shop and borrowed restaurant attached in the little downtown of Stillwater! The staff was fantastic and very accommodating. My room was comfortable, and the bed was very good, and made for great sleeping! Very easy to valet your car here, it's a very unique little hotel, tucked away in this very fun town which is loaded with shopping, restaurants, bars, breweries, and distilleries in about three blocks or so. They'll just love this place! I had a few issues with the room, but comfort was not one of them. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very comfortable as well. I got a room on a fourth floor, and when I opened up my window on the fourth floor, I had a view of a parking lot and when I said I had a view of a parking lot, I mean there was a car park there and I could reach out the window and touch the license plate if I wanted too. I was surprised and I've never seen a car parked so close to a room before. But in fairness, I never heard the car once or anyone to get in the car and later I noticed the car had driven away. The furnishings in the room were lacking, probably because the rooms are very small here. But there was no desk and chair. I was traveling for business, so it's critical that I have a desk in my room. I realize a lot of people that come to this hotel are tourists, but even if I were a tourist, I like to have a desk and chair so that I could read materials, or sometimes I still have to open my computer and check emails. There was no such desk and chair in any of the rooms. I asked to be moved to a different one. But an even bigger concern was that there was no sort of chair or small couch. The only place to sit was a small bench at the foot of the bed that did not have any kind of Back support. Basically you could not sit in this room, except on the bed itself. Having back issues I really need a chair or couch to rest sometimes. When I sit up in a bed, I tend to slouch down, which isn't good for my lower back. Because of these reasons, I will not be coming back to this hotel, without either a desk and chair, or some sort of couch or lounge chair in the bedroom. Is this a good place to get a room if you're looking for a comfortable night sleep right in the charming downtown of Stillwater? Yes it is.

We were greeted by our gracious hosts, Tom and Sandy. We made it just in time for the afternoon snack.. you know.. wine, cheese etc... with time to enjoy the large veranda. In fact, we were there for three nights and made extensive use of the veranda.. at breakfast, in the afternoon and in the evening. Tom and Sandy are good about seating you with people that are a good match.. or if you prefer.. alone.. there is plenty of space. You can even have food delivered to your room. We played croquet on the grounds (yes, they have ample parking, gorgeous landscaping, a fountain and a place to play croquet) it was fun, but when my wife kept beating me I decided it was time to try something else. (I grew up in the city, what do I know about croquet?) Back to the breakfast thing.. one day the whole area suffered a power outage so they fired up the grill and cooked us our breakfast. No big deal, it was excellent. We stayed in the Joseph room, but were able to view all except one and they were all very nice. We had a King sized bed (super comfortable) and an oversized bathroom.. a big tub with jets and a shower that I needed the instructions (laminated) to use.. so many sprayers. As we spoke with the other guests.. we were all in agreement that this is a really remarkable Bed and Breakfast. Tom and Sandy's labor of love really shines. A great value.

I could easily be vegan with her help! The staff or caregivers that help us each time or super helpful and make our stay even better. Thanks again for another visit and we will be back!

We arrived and our roomed smelled like smoke, was extremely dirty and just overall grungy. We immediately requested a new room and they took quite some time to get us a new room, but were able to make it happen for the one night. They let us know the option was the dirty room we originally booked or we have to move rooms in the morning. The second room was much better, but I was still grossed out after the first room. There were stains on the linens and hair in the shower. In the morning we went to check with them and if we wanted to stay we had to move and downgrade rooms again. To put it simply, they didn't seem to care about our experience, business or cleanliness of the room(s).

Bed was very comfortable and room very clean It's the largest room in the hotel and well worth it. During our visit in mid-February we had the hotel to ourselves which made our stay even more special. We got to experience the pool and hot tub with just the two of us. The room, hotel, cleanliness and service deserves five stars plus. The breakfast was basically non existent so I had to give my overall score four stars. We ended up going to Perkins across the highway for our breakfast.
