If you wanna feel like you're a rich Governor in the 1800's, then stay here! This place is amazing! Upon arrival, you're met by the owner of the building. She gives you a quick tour and a little bit of history on who owned this place back in the no cellphone days. Then once in you're room, you get you're choice of local wine or beer, with cheese, crackers, grapes and olives. All delicious! The rooms are unique! What's nice is that each one has a huge jacuzzi hot tub /bathtub! The St Croix suite has a fireplace right next to the hot tub, which is super nice. And then breakfast. Oh my. Once we had breakfast, I had to write a review. Tell her your dietary restrictions, no problem! They are super nice here! The breakfast is something I'll remember. Quiche that was just right and warm. Crispy bacon. Creamy and fresh fruit cup thingy. I don't know what it's called! A scone that isn't dry! That in of itself deserves 5 stars. Coffee with any fixings you want! I couldn't ask for anything else this weekend!

My boyfriend and I stayed a weekend at the Aurora Staples Inn and we LOVED it. We stayed in the Riverview Suite which has a 4 season porch attached to it. Rachelle is an amazing host and makes an incredible breakfast. You can opt to eat breakfast in your room or down in the dining room. Coffee is delivered to your room an hour before breakfast so you have time to wake up. I highly recommend the Aurora Staples Inn if you're looking for a place to stay in Stillwater.

I had one of the most memorable hotel stays of my life this past weekend…read more From before we even arrived, I knew we were in good hands. i booked online but called the front desk as I had a special request. Chris was incredible. We arrived a few days later and pulled right up for Lora's valet to park our car. We checked in and the lobby is so beautiful and smelled so good, we immediately felt relaxed. Our room was the Premier King and was stunning. I don't even know where to begin. The decor with the exposed old cream brick mixed with velvet and moody decor- I knew this place was somewhere special. The room was so thoughtfully designed. From the golden rabbit door knocker (there's a lot of symbolism throughout the hotel) to the sleek wardrobe with steamer and plenty of hangers (I'm happy hotels are getting away from closets that just eat up so much space), I was taking notes of everything that exceeded my expectations. The Honor bar was full of snacks and....other goodies that one may need and had local treats and cocktails too! There's a bluetooth Tivoli radio next to the bed so we were able to listen to our own tunes while we got ready for our night out. After we got home that night, we sat by the fireplace outside the hotel for a bit to wind down. It was so nice. Then we got ready for bed and let me tell you never have I ever had such a good sleep in a hotel. That bed was HEAVEN. I have a bad neck and I'm always nervous I'll have a flare up from hotel pillows and mattresses and you could not pry me out of that bed. The bathroom is amazing and the bath products are CO Bigalow- nice! The shower was literally perfect. I know this is so random to comment on but when you want to shower but not wash your hair and you aren't at your home shower, it's a bit of a drag. Not here! Idk who designed this shower but it had the perfect stream angle and flow to allow you to be warm and shower while keeping your head out of the water. Pressure was perfect. I want this shower in my home and I want it in my home today. Lastly, in a world where trendy hotels insist on BARN Doors for bathroom, Lora knows that it doesn't matter how long you've been married, bathroom visits for any reason deserve privacy and a REAL door. I loathe barn doors with every fiber of my being and I am grateful that such a hip and stylish hotel keeps the important things standard! They have a beautful restaurant, Feller, and bar, The Long Goodbye. Somehow time got away from us and we didn't get to try either! But their coffee and homemade granola bars at MADE were delicious. Overall, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and I cannot wait to come back. I will be recommending it to anyone with ears. The room, bed, shower, and customer service (Thank you, Chris you are a star!!), thoroughly exceeded my expectations. Just a note, as you're right on Main street, I suggest bringing ear plugs. The night life in Stillwater is booming on the weekend! Thank you, Lora. See you again and again.

Charming and comfortable hotel in the heart of downtown Stillwater. But smaller sized room without…read morea desk, couch, or any chair was tough. You will immediately fall in love with this very charming hotel with a coffee shop and borrowed restaurant attached in the little downtown of Stillwater! The staff was fantastic and very accommodating. My room was comfortable, and the bed was very good, and made for great sleeping! Very easy to valet your car here, it's a very unique little hotel, tucked away in this very fun town which is loaded with shopping, restaurants, bars, breweries, and distilleries in about three blocks or so. They'll just love this place! I had a few issues with the room, but comfort was not one of them. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very comfortable as well. I got a room on a fourth floor, and when I opened up my window on the fourth floor, I had a view of a parking lot and when I said I had a view of a parking lot, I mean there was a car park there and I could reach out the window and touch the license plate if I wanted too. I was surprised and I've never seen a car parked so close to a room before. But in fairness, I never heard the car once or anyone to get in the car and later I noticed the car had driven away. The furnishings in the room were lacking, probably because the rooms are very small here. But there was no desk and chair. I was traveling for business, so it's critical that I have a desk in my room. I realize a lot of people that come to this hotel are tourists, but even if I were a tourist, I like to have a desk and chair so that I could read materials, or sometimes I still have to open my computer and check emails. There was no such desk and chair in any of the rooms. I asked to be moved to a different one. But an even bigger concern was that there was no sort of chair or small couch. The only place to sit was a small bench at the foot of the bed that did not have any kind of Back support. Basically you could not sit in this room, except on the bed itself. Having back issues I really need a chair or couch to rest sometimes. When I sit up in a bed, I tend to slouch down, which isn't good for my lower back. Because of these reasons, I will not be coming back to this hotel, without either a desk and chair, or some sort of couch or lounge chair in the bedroom. Is this a good place to get a room if you're looking for a comfortable night sleep right in the charming downtown of Stillwater? Yes it is.

Unbelievable! This place is well worth the price. The private bathrooms are spectacular. Between the eucalyptus steam shower with a myriad of water features and the jacuzzi type soaking tub, we could barely tear ourselves away from our personal spa time to go to dinner. We love the fact they have no tv's in the rooms but an awesome speaker/disc system for music of your choice and a refrigerator full of drinks. They had snacks available upon our check in and I would highly recommend the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for an additional $5 - YUM! The best part of our moring was the delicious breakfast served right to your room. OH My! We loved our breakfast (see picture) and the homemade scones were SO good. We came here to celebrate our 29th Anniversary in February and we weill be back for a summer visit and of course, many more anniversaries. This place made our anniversary special. Thank you Tom and Sandy.

The Mansion is beautiful, a real mix of old and new.. so you get history.. but still really nice bathrooms and big bedrooms It's about three blocks further than the other highly rated one in town and well worth the extra travel. We were greeted by our gracious hosts, Tom and Sandy. We made it just in time for the afternoon snack.. you know.. wine, cheese etc... with time to enjoy the large veranda. In fact, we were there for three nights and made extensive use of the veranda.. at breakfast, in the afternoon and in the evening. Tom and Sandy are good about seating you with people that are a good match.. or if you prefer.. alone.. there is plenty of space. You can even have food delivered to your room. We played croquet on the grounds (yes, they have ample parking, gorgeous landscaping, a fountain and a place to play croquet) it was fun, but when my wife kept beating me I decided it was time to try something else. (I grew up in the city, what do I know about croquet?) Back to the breakfast thing.. one day the whole area suffered a power outage so they fired up the grill and cooked us our breakfast. No big deal, it was excellent. We stayed in the Joseph room, but were able to view all except one and they were all very nice. We had a King sized bed (super comfortable) and an oversized bathroom.. a big tub with jets and a shower that I needed the instructions (laminated) to use.. so many sprayers. As we spoke with the other guests.. we were all in agreement that this is a really remarkable Bed and Breakfast. Tom and Sandy's labor of love really shines. A great value.

The hotel staff was nice upon checking in, but we had a few issues throughout the night. The rooftop hot tub was a key factor in selecting this location, but it was full of bugs. We asked them to come to clean it out, and they did, but they made sure to tell us before leaving that they couldn't get all the bugs out. After the hot tub, we took showers and the hot water was out by the 2nd shower. We went to call them and realized there were no phones in the room. We used our personal phones to call and when maintenance came they said it was hot and asked if was it just not hot enough for us. They then said that we were at the end of the hallway and there was a wedding that day. Were we supposed to have cold showers because of that? The hotel does not offer microwaves or a fridge but advised we could have one declined to the room. We had a fridge brought up and it was huge. Came to my waist. It was dented and did not smell clean. Luckily we traveled with Lysol wipes and cleaned it out ourselves. We also noticed several dead gnats and spiderwebs in the window area. The air conditioner is loud and outdated. Random bathroom hair that didn't belong to us. The list goes on. Not exactly a relaxing vacation location. Lobby and hallways were nice though.

The room worked well for the presentation, no issues with tech and the room was small enough that no mic was needed. The only thing that was a little annoying was, with the restaurant next door and only folding doors separating us, we could hear some residual noise but not enough to cause issue with the presenter.
