I'm not sure if it's a seasonal thing, but I definitely recommend that you go check them out. You won't regret it, for sure. The only thing I didn't like was that we had a lot of trouble paying. The tap payment didn't work, and the option to insert the card didn't work either. We ended up having to give our card number to the employee so she could process the payment manually. Because of that, I'd recommend being prepared and bringing cash. The truffles were okay (I'd say there are other places with better truffles) but but overall, the cherries are absolutely worth going for.

I even drove to the Algonquin location 10+ years ago and it didn't last long there. This is the only IL location left. Nevertheless, I will make the drive every once in a while to Downer's Grove just for See's. I've never been disappointed in any of the chocolates, and they are always fresh. The associates are always very kind and typically offer a free sample. Some of the milk chocolates can be on the sweet side, so I really like the dark chocolate options. The caramel varieties are very good - the butterchews are good and I especially like the scotchmallow, which is caramel and marshmallow. One of my all-time favorites is the butterscotch square. It's a very sweet brown sugar and vanilla forward soft center. It's reminiscent of cookie dough before you mix in the flour.. so ultra sweet and sugary, but in the best way. Some of my other top favorites are the rum nougat, beverly, mayfair, maple walnut, vanilla nut cream - basically any of the creams or nougats. I haven't tasted one that I didn't like. The lollipops are also delicious - as a coffee lover, I love the cafe latte flavor, and the chocolate ones are also deliciously rich for a hard candy. All of the flavors are good so the assortment is really nice too. If you like fudgy with almonds, the almond royals are a delicious chewy treat. I also love the peanut brittle bars. They are crispy, sweet, buttery, rich and oh so good. They are quite expensive, but for a once in a while treat, it is worth it. Any of their products make for a very nice gift for someone. It's in a small strip mall on Roosevelt road which has hundreds of strip malls off the road. The store itself is clean and well kept. I used to live in VP - now out of state -- but when I come into town, I often stop to get bakery to take while visiting my family. The selection, quality, and prices can not be beat. I buy strudels, coffee cakes, donuts, pecan rolls - which are my favorites, cookies and sweet rolls and made to order Italian cannoli - which they fill before you pick them up. I so very much miss my home bakery, and I am longing for a pecan roll. Hopefully, I will get some in May when I visit.
