I've had Hotel Chocolat bookmarked for months and was happy to learn they have a location at the Oakbrook center. With a planned shopping trip to Oakbrook Center over this past weekend visiting was going to be a no brainer. Generally Black Friday sales (both online and in store) have been pretty sucky this year and it's turned me off from shopping because the discounts just aren't there. The best discounts I've seen so far were here. Sadly, over a decade ago we used to see discounts averaging around 70-90% (minus the jacked up pricing) and that truly felt like a Black Friday deal. How I long for those days again!!! Just a few weeks ago the store offered 50% off on their holiday boxed chocolates online and given the current sale climate, this was the best deal I could find this year. I picked up 2 boxes and felt they were totally worth the price for luxury chocolate. I also gifted a few chocolates myself (in store) from their Wall of Chocolate and I really liked the big selection of both milk and dark chocolate. My only gripe with the place is that currently they don't serve food and drink. I was ready to buy some hot chocolate however I was told by the associates that they plan to sell by January/February 2026. I've already tried some of their chocolate and the quality is definitely there. I also like the fact that their products are true to their motto, More Cacao, Less Sugar. That's always a plus for me.

Whenever I see a Hotel Chocolat, I face the urge to go in. Most of the time I give in. I most certainly was excited to go in this last visit seeing all the Halloween offerings. While we were there we were able to sample the mint hot chocolat as well as a caramel square. Both were delightful. After our samples, we looked through the different offerings on the Chocolat wall. We ended up taking advantage of their special of buying 3 packages for $20. Definitely a special treat, but well worth it! We will definitely be back!

They have a large selection of chocolates, it's a bit pricey but it's still worth going.

Absolutely love See's Candies. It's been one of my favorite chocolate shops for years. I use to…read morealways stop in the Northbrook Court location for years and was heartbroken when they closed their doors. I even drove to the Algonquin location 10+ years ago and it didn't last long there. This is the only IL location left. Nevertheless, I will make the drive every once in a while to Downer's Grove just for See's. I've never been disappointed in any of the chocolates, and they are always fresh. The associates are always very kind and typically offer a free sample. Some of the milk chocolates can be on the sweet side, so I really like the dark chocolate options. The caramel varieties are very good - the butterchews are good and I especially like the scotchmallow, which is caramel and marshmallow. One of my all-time favorites is the butterscotch square. It's a very sweet brown sugar and vanilla forward soft center. It's reminiscent of cookie dough before you mix in the flour.. so ultra sweet and sugary, but in the best way. Some of my other top favorites are the rum nougat, beverly, mayfair, maple walnut, vanilla nut cream - basically any of the creams or nougats. I haven't tasted one that I didn't like. The lollipops are also delicious - as a coffee lover, I love the cafe latte flavor, and the chocolate ones are also deliciously rich for a hard candy. All of the flavors are good so the assortment is really nice too. If you like fudgy with almonds, the almond royals are a delicious chewy treat. I also love the peanut brittle bars. They are crispy, sweet, buttery, rich and oh so good. They are quite expensive, but for a once in a while treat, it is worth it. Any of their products make for a very nice gift for someone. I just wish they had more locations.

Close at 10pm but if you need longer later hours a 1am tea shop is about a quarter mile down the road with good options also. Parking lot with plenty of parking. My highlight is that they have booths. Plenty of tables and seating. Good menu options for lattes, iced, hot, espresso, etc. Reasonable priced and they have 20oz coffee. The service was nice as the girl was kind but she didn't seem to understand me well and she didn't know if the coffee was Turkish or not. Therefore, I ordered an Americano with their homemade pistachio sauce. It was a nice beverage. I also ordered a Turkish bread with ground beef. It too was delicious, hot and fresh. The ambiance is inviting. The pastries and mini to small cake options were quite beautiful. The nose level was very quiet until little ones came in. Still tolerable but if you are studying and it's busy don't forget your headphones. Lol. I studied for about 3 hours and I would definitely return again.

But, I am reviewing the Lombard location. The selection was good and fresh, although some of their items are a bit pricey. I ordered cake pops, brownies, and a chocolate chip cookie. The sales person was pleasant and quick. This store is their biggest store, and they feed the Winfield and Schaumburg stores. They make their pastries at this location, so you'll probably get the freshest selection at the Lombard location. I had bought a gift card from Costco for Sweet Reserve. I admit if I hadn't bought it, and received a discount at Costco for it, I probably would not have noticed the store. It's in a small strip mall on Roosevelt road which has hundreds of strip malls off the road. The store itself is clean and well kept. It does have a limited selection of products but they were all pretty good. The brownies are very frudgey, just the way I like them. The cake pops are sweet, but a little dry. The cookie has a lot of chips in them. Overall, I liked the place.
