I accidentally purchased the wrong size band tee for my nephew and realized my error on my way to the birthday party when I was putting it in the gift bag. This store was the only one in a 50 mile radius that had it, but I had no other choice than to drive out 38 miles. I called to see if they had it in stock, and after checking, the girl confirmed that she did and would hold it for me. I didn't even have to ask. I'm not sure if there was some hot release (or maybe it was a sale?), but this store was busy. There was a pretty long line, but I couldn't tell if there was a reason why. I'm knocking a star off because the other worker at the register felt like she was moving a 1/4 of the speed. The guy working the register asked customers if they found everything okay, folded the tees before putting them in the bag, and processed the transactions pretty quickly. In the time that I was in line which was about 20 minutes, he went through about six transactions, and she did two. Other than that, the footprint of this store is larger than the Montclair location. The staff (especially the one who took my call and held the shirt) is awesome. All around, good vibes. If I lived closer, I'd definitely shop at this spot more for any band merch. This location is ridiculous, they waited until right before they closed to let me know they can't fulfill my order which left me no room to contact who I needed to or further assess the situation as they said they had one in stock, this is very inconvenient and unprofessional read more

The employees were helpful and nice. The sales were good. But, the fitting rooms are closed.My son had no idea what size he needed, so of course the pants didn't fit and have to go back. I don't want to get another pair only to have to return again, so I guess we won't be buying pants there. If you're going to sell clothes, you really need to have fitting rooms. read more

I get that true store is busy but when the website says you have 17 of a certain item in stock, I'm not going to believe the associate when they say "oh those items are still in transit" meaning on a truck somewhere...that's really weird that a website that I'm sure refreshes constantly says you have 17 in the back and you're saying you don't have a single one of 17. every associate we asked had seen them but just "didn't know where they are" can you hire people who know where to find the merchandise in the store they were specifically hired to work at and know about? thats like the ideal situation people expect when they walk into a store to spend money read more

Kloe was a very helpful part time sales person here at Tyler Galleria store. She maybe new but even when she was busy putting up inventory...she took time to greet me, helped another customer then proceeded to help me with my purchase interest. I know this Christmas is a busy holiday season but having good employees who genuinely care is hard to find, employee like Kloe who takes the effort to gave me alternative ideas to buy even if I wasn't able to find what I originally have in mind and able to pull off the sale from her. I was able to get something comparable and on sale which I didn't know about. Value in and selection is much better in your new store location. Price and value should be consistent throughout the year instead of just black friday. The praise is mainly with Kloe who showed initiative and management for this store should consider keeping her because I seldomly ever get a smile or greet in the past from employees when I walk into Hot Topics. This store is pathetic and messy. The shelfs for funko pops are a huge mess and as a person that collects one piece and literally has all the pops. I made a simple call asking for a gear 5 luffy. The good: Cool inventory of video game- and TV-themed T-shirts (Zelda, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead) and goth/punk clothes and accessories, super friendly and helpful staff, good deals in the sales racks. I had a great experience at this store today. The Assistant Manager, Holly helped me out tremendously. She was very accommodating and helpful with her suggestions. I needed to find items in certain sizes and she offered to order them online and have them shipped directly to me. I had trouble finding a particular item, not only was she able to find it; it was on sale as well. My hot cash sale ran very smooth and I was amazed at how much money I saved. She was incredibly professional and kept her cool with an extremely rude customer that she was helping before me. The customer was talking to her in a very rude manner and threatened to report her to the manger. Holly was nothing but friendly and professional with me. My son has been asking to go to Hot topic to Get some new shirt. He has grown a lot and his shirts are too short. He is Huge stranger things fan and LOVES gaming. We decided to head over and also figured we would grab extra for when he is back to school. We walk in and are immediately and energetically greatest by a girl named Malorie. I won't forget how she made us feel. She was FANTASTIC! She sold the specials, helped us find a shirt we likes and was engaging and friendly. That's were the good end. Before I go into the bad. This girl is good for your business. She directed us to the back of the store on the clearance rack for a particular shirt we inquired about. This is where we met both Kylie and a gal whose name I didn't get BUT blond mid length hair and bad attitude. I have a video of her being rude to several people. More to Come on that. My husband asked both these girl about the clearance shirt we were searching for (Fall Out). They were annoyed we stopped their conversation as they, unlike Malorie were not engaging customers but instead gossiping behind the counter. They pointed to the clearance and told us we would have to look through it ourselves as they were all mixed in. Thanks for the help, ladies! I could understand if they were busy but they quickly went back to gossiping. Sigh! My very excited 11 year old is getting bummed out as he can't find the shirt he was so excited about. Meanwhile, my two year old is having a melt down. I grab a few candies to pacify him and head to pay. My son frustrated, brings up the only shirt we could find (we had hope to Buy 5-7) and I attempt to pay. The gals swipes my card twice (the other girl not Kylie) and very rudely says "I need another card this one doesn't work". Apparently the magnetic strip wasn't properly working. I had just used it in several places in the mall and asked her to please try again (I only had the one card with me). I had already given my son a sucker and he was eating it. They told me to go find an ATM and bring cash. I asked if they could manually enter my card and I was told they could not. I inquired on a location of an ATM and they half heartedly pointed in one direction. They then proceeded to ask me for collateral to ensure I would come back. Mind you, we are talking about a sucker that likely cost you less than $1. I was absolutely shocked! I ignored the comment and told them I would return shortly. She attempted to ask again and I simply walked away. You want me to leave my wedding ring or phone over a sucker! Nope! Very frustrated, I walk out and search for an ATM. I arrive several minutes later and buy the shirt and pay for the sucker. As I was paying I stepped a few feet from the register to look at something my son was showing me. Another customer who obviously didn't know I was mid transaction steps up to pay. This gal snaps at the customer and informs her she needs to step away as she is in the middle of another transaction. She snapped her fingers and told her to stand in a certain position. It was awkward. A simple "hello! I am currently with another customer but as soon as I am done I will be happy to help you, I appreciate your patience" would have been lovely. She also snapped at another customer. Moral of the story, service is awful, lost my business and it's the only place my tween likes to shop. I can get the same product online without the attitudes. I have a tween for that! read more

I would love to give a four, but we need to look at this from the typical hot topic customer. Why on earth is there all of this god awful Justin beiber god awful rap crap all over the place!? The typical hot topic customer is the opposite of what your trying to attract. The squealing twelve year old girls that come in a break their moms wallets with one direction JB and rap crap are the ones that would never go in their because they are scared of the people that go there. The main types of people that go there are the skaters,punks,rockers,scene kids,metal heads,nerds, and most of all,goths. The store wasn't made for that mainstream awful music. It came around to attract and serve the odd ones. And I freaking love that store. I'm a regular customer. But you guys should really consider getting more of the old shipments and less of the awful boy bands and rap s***. Thanks read more
