When I called the store to speak with a manager, I was told I could not speak to one unless I already knew the manager's name. I have never encountered a policy like that, and it falls well below basic customer service standards. This entire situation was handled unprofessionally, from the conflicting information I was given to the lack of accountability and unwillingness to escalate my concerns. I expected much better communication and customer service from a corporate franchise.

Now, they said I could not return the bodysuit/cami but accepted the skirt for return. They said it was against store policy to return bodysuits. I find this interesting because you can try them on in the store with no problem but you can't return it even though it has the tags attached and was not worn.

Let me tell you why. Unsorted, all of the items (shoes, clothes, adults, babies and kids) are combined and thrown into bins in the store and patrons pounce on any new dumpings like it is prey and begin tearing through it. Everything is weighed with the exception of the books. The book prices aren't set, or posted so you have no idea how much you're being charged for the books or why. Is the staff making up prices for the books? Who can know one way or another. The receipts aren't itemized in a way that would clarify anything. After looking at all of the other reviews that mentioned a boutique feel and high end purchases I wasn't sure if this was the same place. The address is the same. It's in the Good Will Complex and Opportunity center, but the receipt says "Second Edition." All of those glowing reviews are at least a year ago... and they have made some big changes since then. So I am here to let these Yelp Streets know, things are different now. The personnel in this store seem friendly enough, but with the exception of the book section, this store is a hard pass for me.

I must admit that my initial experiences with this establishment were not always up to my liking, but due to the novelty and trauma of the situation, I decided to keep my concerns to myself. However, my recent visit to Unique Boutique , the service I received from Glenda Rodriquez was nothing short of amazing. She took the time to understand my unique requirements and body shape, ensuring that I felt secure and confident throughout the process. I love their sales and for me it is all about the husky sizes for my son. The employees are always so friendly and helpful. The clothes also hold up well. If you have a boy, then you know what I am talking about. They stand up to rough wear and abuse. So it makes me feel good that I can stretch my money here and it will last for a while. JC Penney Portraits Center: So I was in a bind to take some photos. I wanted to be able to take photos and get them made into Christmas Cards immediately. (I am so last minute). So I booked my appointment online and printed out a coupon that they had available. We arrived a little early for our appointment but they got us in right away. Our photographer was awesome. I wish I could remember her name because everyone needs her as their photographer. But she took photos at the right angles, knew how to coach us in moving us the right way. She had fun with my son and was able to get great shots of all us. Maybe we were more relaxed because we were all in jeans and Christmas Shirts (look in my profile photos to see our Christmas Photo). I don't know but I was really impressed with the skills our photographer. Her knowledge and personality just all worked for me. The only thing I was mad about was the sitting fee. It was clear that they charged a sitting fee of $9.99. However, it was not clear that the sitting fee was per person. So just know that it is per person. So because the membership is the same fee as what we would have paid for the sitting fee, we just did the membership which is good for two years and no more fees during that time. I did have to wait 5 days to pick up my photos but I was able to purchase the download copies of our photos and the rights to them. They told me I would have them within 24 hours in an email but it literally came in less than two hours. So I was able to get Christmas Cards made somewhere else so that I could mail them out in a timely fashion.

I went to customer service to return and one item went through just fine but for some reason they were having trouble processing the other item. What irritated me was she the lady at the desk tried to process it once and pushed my item to the side and said she can't return it. She didn't even give me an explanation. I asked her why and she said she couldn't find the item. I showed her my invoice that showed all the info and she was still having trouble. She made it seem like that was it. I asked if there was a manager she could ask and she finally did. It was annoying because this whole process took 15 minutes! And she kept using different computers back and forth and they didn't have a merchandise credit card for my store credit at the desk. She had to call someone to bring it to her. The manager finally came and fixed the issue but this was such a hassle. Super unorganized. I would have no desire to come back to this store ever.
