Revisited after I recovered the flu & it was the first real meal I had in days & was amazing even with the 100° weather outside. Service was great, I got the lamb hotpot with a side of extra tofu. Came with my husband and per their policy it is $3.99 for sharing a pot fee but it includes unlimited drinks which makes it totally worth it. Loved their sauce so much as well, we got a jar to take home. Will definitely be back.
Love the option to diy a pot and pay by weight or just order a pot that's on the menu. Seems like the pot from the menu has a lot of ingredients so would be more worth it if you're not too picky about the ingredients it comes with already. The flavors are great and love that you can choose your soup for the diy pot. It's also great that it comes with unlimited drinks and they have a great variety of drinks to choose from.
Today we had lunch at Hot Pot Mini It's our second time visiting, and we really like it! The food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and they even offer unlimited free tea with boba of your choice We'll definitely be back soon
Came with 7 friends and we had good time! Just a heads up if you come with a large group everyone will get their food at different times. I got mine last and half of them were done eating by then. Everyone's food (without drink) came out to be around $20. Mine with a drink came out to $33.
One of my family's go to spots in the Ontario area! Building our own hot pots is always so much fun, and I love how everyone can get a meal customized to their tastes and preferences, with preset options too. The BYO boba bar also looks cool, though I've never tried it. I liked how the hot pots are served on the burners so that the food and broth stays warm and fresh throughout the entire meal, unlike most malatang places that serve it in a bowl. We've celebrated a birthday here and the service was spectacular- refrigerating and bringing out the cake and providing a lighter, plates, and forks for us to enjoy it.
This place has a family owned small restaurant vibe, the family was SOOOOO nice, sweet, and attentive. Every single staff member The food wad good, quality hot pot. The broth, the items, it was a good amount and tasted quality. Their all you can drink boba was also really good. Boba soft and chewy but not too sweet and the drinks were actually good quality tea for all you can drink I was surprised. Better than quickly or other all yoy can drink boba places it was not too sweet and the tea flavor was strong and yummy! 12/10, will recommend and will be back! Please support this adorable family restaurant so they can expand and add more themed decor to this cute place!
This is one of my first times leaving a review because I normally only do in a really good or really bad situation. And this place is SOOOOO good. I their broths are amazing and all food is cooked to perfection! You have a choice between build your own (which i got) or a pre-set pot for people looking to try some new things. Our pots were cooked super fast which was perfect after getting our drinks. WHICH ARE ALL YOU CAN DRINK!! As someone who drinks more tea than eats rice, this just became my favorite spot. Our pots were surprisingly cheap, the lady told me the system accidentally charged me extra and when i saw the price. Thats how much i originally anticipated spending, so seeing our check being so cheap for such high quality food was so amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough for both adventurous eaters & picky eaters!
I liked it. A slightly different kind of hot pot place. You can either build your own pot and you'll be charged by the weight. Or they have a nice choice of preset hot pots. They put a little flame canister under the pot to heat it up. Unfortunately there's no way to turn it down so if it gets too hot you can just ask them to put the flame out. My friends made their own, but I got the preset Lamb hot pot. It was good! A good portion amount. I finished it but I can see 2 lighter eaters sharing one pot. The broth was very tasty. I only got the mild but it still had a little spice to it. Will probably get medium next time. They also have a neat little boba station where you can make your own. Will definitely be coming back to try more. Nice to see more hot pot options in the IE. Inside was simple. A few tables for seating but still a good place for small groups. Service was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the shopping center lot.
This is a good place to create your own hot pot and boba drink. This time we got the sukiyaki and the miso hot pots with 3 create your own drinks. The combo man was about $20 a person which was ok. The create your boba is a great value as the drink was pretty big and you could mix and match your toppings and drinks. The hot pot was pretty standard and would meet your craving for it. They had two different doing sauces that enchanted the flavor or of the meats and vegetable.
Hot Pot Mini Workshop was a cool experience but nothing that really wowed me. This place is similar to Boiling Point, Tasty Pot, Red Flame, and ZZ Hotpot. The only difference is that you can build your own. You can choose the ingredients that goes in it or you can just pick one of their creations. We choose to make our own. All of their ingredients are located by the register. They had most veggies and most of the popular meatballs. For meats, I remember them having pork, beef, fish, and shrimp. Many of the items were frozen. They also had ramen and your meal comes with either rice or vermicelli. There is a minimum order of one pound. A pound is $16.99. I had a hard time filling up my bowl because a pound was much more than I can eat. But I took quite a bit home after I was full. There were a variety of broths to choose from and you can pick your level of spiciness. I went with the Taiwanese spicy flavor with mild spice. It was good but I wish I got it spicier and I wish it had a little more flavor. The pork and beef meat I got were chewy and tasted too lean for my liking. But everything else was cool. Pricing was affordable. Oh, and they do charge extra if you want more rice. Our food came out quick after being cooked. They bring it out to you with a flame underneath that they can put out if you like. Parking was easy since there is a lot out in front.
The place is kinda small. If there were a lot of customers, they provide a " waiting list " that you can wrote your name and how many in your party. Through out, the place is clean, well lit. Service is fast and they are friendly. Food is great. You can make your own hotpots or there are a good selections of set menus. Delicious taste. Price is reasonable. There is a boba station that you can make your own boba drinks. Pretty good. Definitely will go back again and glad to have this hotpots in the area. read more

Do NOT eat at this restaurant! Terrible service and zero responsibility! I ordered takeout from this place, and it was a complete disaster. First, their soup was so hot that it melted the plastic lid, causing the soup to spill all over the bag. When I told them, they refused to take responsibility or offer any solution. To make things worse, I ordered a hot pot, but because the soup had spilled, I basically ended up with a hot pot without any soup. And yet, they still wouldn't admit their mistake or do anything about it. How does a restaurant mess up this badly and not even try to fix it? Absolutely unacceptable! If you don't want to deal with poor quality food and terrible service, stay far away from this place! read more

This place is really good! I was actually shook by how good it was and would definitely be back! First off, they have a lot of hot pot options to choose from. They use to have sukiyaki broth but not anymore. You can choose from set pots or do a self serve option where you choose your own toppings and broth and pay by weight. Both are good options! It just depends on what you like. They also have self serve boba which is a huge plus!! They have some deals too like buy 2 drinks get 1 free or buy 2 pots get a drink free or something like that. That does depend on which day though. I ordered the curry pot which was quite good. Flavorful and had a lot of toppings. I did feel that there was less meat than many other hot pot places but that's okay. Price is decent considering you can choose your own toppings and self serve drinks. Hot Pot Mini Workshop may become one of my favorite hot pot places! There were plenty of tables, and the inside is nice and clean. Came on a Saturday for lunch around when they opened (11:30am) and was the first to be seated. The waitress who helped us was sweet and explained how the diy works for the drinks. My party got the premade hot pots, which were the sukiyaki pot and the beef pot. Our hot pots came pretty quickly, during the waiting time I went to fill up my drink that came as a combo. There were many different choices, but I decided on the guava lychee slushy, which was so good, the lychee and guava complemented each other perfectly. You can also add your own toppings and how ever much you want, but I didn't since I just wanted a slushy. I also liked how big the cup is even for a small (24oz), and the price was very reasonable for that ($4.49) since a lot of drink shops are expensive nowadays. For the pot, I got the sukiyaki pot, which I liked a lot, the soup wasn't too salty and was sweet! The soup was also very hot. The udon that comes with it was chewy, and the beef was soft unlike some other hot pot places where the meat is dry. There was a good amount of beef too and I liked everything that was included in the pot, like the egg and blood sausage. The beef pot was good and flavorful as well! I would say the portion is just enough for one person, as I was very full after finishing my hot pot. Overall, I love everything about this place and will definitely be coming back to try the other pots and their other drinks! I do wish there was a closer location to me. read more

I came here on a weekday with a friend and got the House Specialty Pot and build your own boba. Our food arrived promptly and the portions were pretty large. There was a variety of hotpot ingredients and the broth was pretty light. I also enjoyed the build your own boba- I got a fruit tea blend and liked the wide assortment at the toppings bar. Staff was also friendly and tended to our needs almost immediately (which could've also been because there were only two other parties with us). The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating, and since the hotpot comes out on a self-heating raised pan, there isn't too much of an issue with the smaller tables. That being said, I feel like $18 is a bit pricey for hotpot and I have had richer/better seasoned broth around the SGV area. But if you are in the IE/Ontario area, this place is worth checking out! read more

Although I enjoyed the ambience and the staff who were was lovely, I'm not sure the selection is appetizing, I have been to other restaurants and I would say this place needs more savory spices and noodles, etc. and the broth didn't have the natural beef flavor I was expecting. It appears I was also charged for a member fee, when I asked what the membership entailed I was told to gather points for future visits, and all was needed was my phone number. read more

The food is fantastic but I feel the main thing that sets this place apart from other taiwanese hot pot like boiling point is the ability to make your custom drink and the variety of drink selections are insane, it is absolutely fantastic. The soup is great as well, but I felt there was very lil meat but for the trade that's all worth it for me since it makes sense for the price. Service was great as we were assisted in choosing our hotpot as well the ambiance was very cute as this restaurant was very small but cozy. Overall, will definitely come back when I'm in the area!!! read more

Hands down the best self-served hot pot restaurant in the IE! The service is always great and welcoming with a friendly atmosphere. I recommend the Sukiyaki broth/soup base and spicy is the way to go. read more

兩個禮拜前到Ontario 當搬貨女工， 把朋友公司要捐贈的疫情物資放在車上，本來說要帶我去吃brunch ,結果朋友要搬一大堆，搞的好晚呀， 讓人家的肚子好餓歐 在當地找了家小火鍋，想說，我沒法撐到回東區，應該會因為太餓休克昏倒在方向盤上，結果找到的小火鍋還不錯呢， 應該是台灣人開的小店， 臭臭鍋那種， 味道也算到道地， 好像有不同的吃法，也有優惠，但我實在太餓了，只直接點兩鍋，填飽肚子再說，現在越來越多人往這搬了，住在這裡的，在這附近上班的應該要來這看看，這也有好吃的臭臭鍋呢！ -- eating lunch at Hot Pot Mini Workshop. read more
I had the Taiwan spicy. I had it extra spicy. It wasn't super spicy but very flavorful. Also got the combo and got the large winter melon boba. You can add as many toppings as you want with the boba. The winter melon tea was delicious. Just a too bit on the sweet side for me, but it was good. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Food came out fast. Not too long of a wait. The restaurant was clean. My only suggestion is park on the other side near Daphnes. There's a drive thru at Daves Hot Chicken and it causes traffic and might be difficult in backing out. The place is a bit hidden so it's just at the right of Arco gas station right beside Daves Hot Chicken. read more

Not your typical tastypot or boiling point hot pot place. You have the option to self-serve your meat, veggies, and other hot pot toppings as well as self-serve drink with unlimited toppings! The hot pot toppings were charged by pound. It was a bit confusing when we first enter but the server was able to help us out. PROS - you got to choose what you wanted in your hot pot instead of getting random things on there that you might not like; unlimited toppings for your drink and choice of drink; a fun experience because the place literally feels like a workshop CONS - customer service could be a little better, specially on explaining how the workshop works. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend!! read more
If you are craving hot pot without having to cook it yourself, the Taiwanese version of hot pot is what you want and you can get that here! Either build you own or order a preset. I opted for the preset #1 with fermented tofu and pork slices. It was delicious! We also got the lamb pot and it was also excellent. Great portion, variety of items inside, and choose the bowl of rice as you get more than the glass noodles option. It was $16.95 and you can add a boba drink to it too for like $4-5 more. Place was pretty busy on a hump day but quick and friendly service. Plenty of free parking here. read more

Customer service: 5 Chose this place to try since we tried other areas near Ontario Mills.. I added fermented tofu so the picture shows more tofu then what the regular portion. You can also build your own hot pot by chosing the ingredients you want and the quantity. They charged per pound. The only downside of this is I feel they have less beef and a little less veggies in the pot and the beef slices taste different than other places. I ordered the Taiwanese style hot pot.. it's not as spicy as I thought or other places but it does have a little kick. The soup base is good so definitely will be coming back. You can add $2.99 for a small drink of your choice.. self serve drink . Hubby got the boba milk tea.. milk tea taste reminds me of Taiwan.. Music choice .. love the music.. they play some old songs Chinese songs from the 2000s.. love it! Customer service is great! Can tell they really care about their business.. Owner is Taiwanese .. so food and music is also Taiwanese style.. that's a plus since I'm from Taiwan..reminds me of home. Will definitely come back again to support mom and pop shop! read more

Right now, they have a special if you buy a hot pot, a 24oz boba drink will be added to your order. The boba is pretty good, not overcooked and you add in your own toppings. They have several types of drinks that are not too sweet. I got the beef hot pot that came with a bowl of rice and two dipping sauces. It came with a good amount of a variety of meats and vegetables like sliced beef, corn, tomato, fish ball, rice cake, napa cabbage, crab Stick, and enoki mushroom. Broth was good and steaming hot. They follow covid protocol, not alot of seating inside. The place is located near the Ontario Mills mall near the Sams Club. I tried it. They have a deal where if you order a hot pot meal, you can get a drink at a discounted price. The difference between this place and Boiling Point is that they allow you to "build your own hotpot". We ordered a couple of their premade pots. Drinks are also "do it yourself". They have about 10 different teas or beverages that you can choose with lots of toppings. They are unique with their "do it yourself" concept. Kind of pricey as a hot pot meal like this is over $20 if you include a drink. This place might be average if in Rowland Heights, but, in Ontario? It probably is the best in the area. read more

Right next to holiday café if you're trying to look for it in the plaza, south of it to be exact. Solid hot pot spot. The self serve is clutch if you're like my mom and don't eat vegetables at all (smh). It's a minimum of 1 lb for self serve so fill up! You can take your leftovers home. I chose the lamb and pickled veggies hot pot. It had the right amount of meat and tons of yummy greens. I got spicy but could definitely handle extra spicy next time I go. We also got drinks where you could fill the cup up yourself with toppings and whatever drink you want. The tea itself was super sweet (I did half wintermelon half black thinking I would dilute it but I think the black tea is sweetened as well). Fun concept. read more
I cannot believe how amazing this place is!! I had wanted to come here a few times but got intimidated by the word "workshop" . I didn't know what that meant and was afraid of finding out. Haha well anyways i took the plunge and went in one day and it's so amazing!! I did the all you can eat hot pot where you pick from a selection of frozen raw meats and veggies and pick your soup and they bring it out all made for you! I loved it! And i love that i can customize whatever I want! I try and stay keto so no noodles Or rice for me! I also went when they had a promotional free boba with the meal and that was also amazing because i got the sugar free teas and a few pieces of aloe and grass jelly and it was great! I highly recommend this place!! I'll for sure come back often! read more

This place offers both preset combos with fixed prices and build your own which is paid by weight. There are many broth choices for build your own hot pot, and you pick the spicy level. There are also a few sauces on the table for dipping. The hot pot is served on a burner, so it stays boiling hot on the table. I really enjoyed my meal, though I wish there were a few more vegetable options. read more

I've had this place 3 times in the past month. So, I guess you know where this review is going...its delicious! I've ordered by phone and your food is ready in 10-20 mins. I've had the beef and lamb pot. Both are flavorful. If you are looking for a more regular pot then I suggest the beef. The lamb came with intestines. The pot is full and filling. I have not eaten here pre-covid so I am not sure if the portions are the same. You also get free boba during their promotion! Customer service is quick and good. The only odd thing is that I was given a coupon to return within a week and you get $2 off so I did that and handed her the coupon and she gave it back to me saying it expires tomorrow but she didn't take the $2 off. There was no explanation and she walked away to get out drinks. read more
We don't even live that close and yet we always find ourselves going out of our way to grab lunch here! Maybe compared to some big hotpot chains there is not a huuuuge variety of ingredients to add to your pot, but there is still a pretty decent selection. I have no trouble filling up with over a lb of fresh veggies, sliced pork and beef, meatballs, and fish cakes everytime. Today when I went they even had fish fillets. I'm not a quail egg person but my partner says they're good here, unlike at another (very popular) hotpot chain where they tasted old and gross. So, a lot of words to say the ingredients here are great quality. More importantly though is the broths are amazingly flavorful. So good that we ask for to go containers to take them home and make ramen in the leftover soups at home. Don't make fun of me! Highly recommend the tomato and curry broths, extra spicy of course. They are always running some sort of deal for a free or discounted boba with a hotpot purchase, so you can make your own drink afterwards as well. Another tip, fill your cup up with your favorite toppings, go home and pour it out into a bowl, and eat it with a spoon and fresh fruit like a Taiwanese dessert bowl lol. If you'd rather have dessert at the restaurant, the shaved ice bowls are a real bargain. You can get a couple of toppings free of additional charge with bottomless brown sugar syrup and ice. We love the comfortable, quiet, casual atmosphere here. The restaurant is always very clean and service is fast and attentive. Tables are cleaned immediately after customers leave and everyone wears masks and gloves. The waitress is very friendly, kind, and helpful as well. This is a great spot for a fun date or lunch with family, and we're looking forward to dining in again soon! read more

It was a pretty cold night, and we happened to crave for hotpot. We quickly found this place on Yelp looking for hotpot. The food was not bad, the fermented tofu hotpot almost hit the spot. The tofu wasn't as "stinky" as other Taiwanese hotpot which is a tiny disappointment. Almost all their hotpot comes with beef-base soup. I kind of wished they had some pork bone soup as an alternative. So I got the sukiyaki soup base but it came out a little on the sweeter side. My wife got the veggie soup it was ok not bad. The service was really good at least, they were really busy. They got everything we wanted so no problems there. read more

I like coming here over other hot pot places because I can choose the ingredients. It costs a bit more, but at least here I can load it up with more meat. The broth is really flavorful, I really like the Thai fusion. Bok Choy was probably the freshest ingredient they had. It was the only vegetable I got, and I found a caterpillar in my food once it came out. Other than that, it's a nice small quaint place. read more
Such good deals here!! They are currently offering buy 2 pots, get 1 free with 2 free drinks Monday-Thursday from 2-5pm. They have another deal where it's self-serve $9.99/lb pots with a drink and vermicelli or ayce rice included . Both offers cannot be applied, it's one or the other. I'm not sure how long these promos will be available but I hope it lasts long. I like the spicy satay medium spice soup base. They have a good variety for their self-serve pot. We ordered pickup from this place yesterday and everything was great! I ordered duck blood cake spicy hot pot, it definitely has some kicks to it. Be aware if you're sensitive to spicy food. We also ordered the beef hot pot none spicy, it's smaller in size but still full of good ingredients. My husband and I finished both of the pot and also enjoyed their milk tea a lot. They opened in March which is kinda unfortunate, please support! :D read more
