Rude as hell! And does rushed work from past experiences! The quality of work matches the attitude of the staff. A recent occasion instantly when I walked in staff had an attitude. I was asked if I had an appointment and I responded no and said I understood if there was a wait, etc. It gets quiet for like two minutes. Then some lady in the back doing a pedicure screams "NOoo". Then I ask the lady in the front was that my answer or what- she said, "yes, yes, she said nothing available, no". The lady getting her nails done kind of gave me a look of common understanding that this was handled rude. They did not ask if I wished to make an appointment, no one at any point got up to greet me. They had me standing at the front desk in awkward silence, it just was awful. read more

Horrible attitude, Horrible disposition, Horrible customer service. This place will never get my business ever again. I went there a few weeks ago for a polish change, and even though I felt like I was overcharged (the girl just made up a number off the top of her head), I didn't make a big deal of it because the work was pretty decent. I went back two weeks later for the same service and there were 3 people in the waiting area. As I picked up the pen to sign in, the woman in the front asked what service I was getting. I told her a polish change. She said, rudely, we can't take you today, we don't have any time for that service. I'm thinking to myself, a polish change takes maybe 10-15 minutes. It wasn't like I was getting a full refill. I said, excuse me, what do you mean you don't have any time for that service? She said we're backed up with appointments and can't do your nails. I point to the sign that clearly states WALK-INS WELCOME! She said we can't do you today. As much as I wanted to tell her off and tell her where she and that nail salon could go, I calmly walked out and took my business AND MY MONEY down the street to Coco Nails, who gladly did my polish change. I'm only giving one star because I can't give anything less. I made an appt for 5:30 pm I walked in at 5:29 signed in and waiting in the seating area. I was never greeted but didn't take it personal as everyone looked busy servicing a customer. My normal salon has front desk staff so I am usually greeted by them but they didn't have anyone attending the front here. A few minutes later a white woman walked in signed in and sat down. Right after that an employee (male) walks a young lady that he had just finished servicing to the front. As he is checking her out he looks at the sign in sheet still never greeting me asked the white women her name. She tells him and stands up. He asked if she had an appointment she said yes at 530 (same as mine). He looks and the book and asked was she sure she had an appt. She again confirmed she has an appt for 530. He than started speaking in his language to another person and she then comes to the front. She engaged with the woman about her appointment and told her it was the following day she said she called to change it to today. She replied they didn't change it in the book but he can take her. Still I sat without any acknowledgement from anyone. Finally at 5:54 25 mins after I entered this establishment someone spoke to me. I voiced my concern as to why this woman was serviced before me, why I was not greeted and showed her where I clearly signed in prior to this woman. The lady said o I understand and starts speaking the the male again in their language. This annoyed me even more because if I have an issue with your business and your speaking about the situation in front of me then why are you not speaking where everyone can understand. I did not feel they truly even cared about the discrimination and rude behavior. Clearly my black dollars are not welcomed here and I will never patronize this business. read more

They're great at doing nails but they don't show any pricing, I've been going there for the past few months and every time I go the price keeps increasing. I don't like to get tips because my nails are naturally long so I just get acrylic over lay, I needed a full, they charged me for a full set. I also got a pedicure. I paid 125$ I usually get similar nails each time and the prices keep going up and up. The first time I went I paid 90$ for my nails and pedicure, the second time I paid 105, this time I paid 125$. It's a shame because I really do love my nails I just want to know exactly what I'm paying for, they need start giving itemized receipts. read more

They do a good job but they are nasty as can be. They don't acknowledge you when you enter the salon and then you wait for a long time without acknowledgement. They also talk about you in their native language if you ask a question, they don't like your nails, or if they don't like you. I'm sure they will lose a lot of business to the salon across from Walmart. That salon gives you wine, water, or coffee and everyone is very nice and friendly. read more

I can't believe this place has so little stars. I live in Camden but will take the drive to Smyrna just to come here. The atmosphere is so light and cheery. They stay busy, but never forget about you. The owner will update you letting you know the wait time too. The gel never peels, and the pedicure is amazing. My nails have NEVER disappointed me! I have been going to Hot Nails in Smyrna Delaware since the opening. My daughter purchased me a gift certificate in December 2019 as a Xmas gift. The pandemic hit shortly after that and my mom passed from COVID in the spring. I was very nervous about going out since I experienced the hardship and devastation of this pandemic. I came across the gift certificate and realized the expiration date was approaching. I thought the expiration date was December 26 but it was actually December 24. I didn't understand the handwriting. Because, initially I wasn't sure, I called Hot Nails and explained my situation. I was told initially, if the certificate is a few days late, they would honor it. I went to Hot Nails on December 26. The young lady whom I had spoken to about the certificate looked at the certificate certificate and said, it says the 24th and walked away. I didn't know what to make of this. I had just spoken to her and she said a few days late would be ok. So, I sat there for a few minutes, then exited the business. I went to Hot Nails for years. If was as if they don't factor in people's circumstances during a pandemic. It took everything in me to even go there. I was treated horribly by a business I frequented for years. I will NEVER go back there again. My certificate was for 50.00. That's money my daughter who just lost her unemployment can never get back. Wasted money. If I could have left minus 10 stars, I would have. Think twice about purchasing a gift certificate from Hot Nails in Smyrna Delaware. read more

There is usually a wait so i recommend making an appointment ahead of time. I moved to Delaware from NJ and had my 'go to' nail place up there. It was tough to find one here. I tried a ton in the area and I always found myself back at Hot Nails. Katie & Jackie are great. I usually get a few good laughs and my nails always last. I don't get in as often as I should but this one definitely has become my 'go to' in Smyrna. :) read more

5 stars for this nail salon!!! I faithfully go to Danny every 3 weeks for a refill, my nails last such a long time! I've been there for 4 refills and have yet to break a nail. I have been to Hot Nails a few times now for Pedicure and Gel Manicure and have not been disappointed. They are always busy but I never had to wait long. All the operators are friendly and attentive. Chairs could use a little updating and wait is a little long but pedicures are absolutely worth the wait. Friendly, mature, talented staff. Up to date with the latest styles but allow you to relax. I am sorry but usually they do a decent job. Today I waited for 45 mins for a simple manicure and the lady did such a shabby job . There is still earlier nail polish particles around my nails along with so much of dry skin and when I tried to tell her she was a bit rude. It is so difficult to communicate as she had very little grasp of English. And I don't know why she bothered applying the moisturizer after the polish was done...and still wet.
