We drove over an hour to visit this place. It was so delicious. The outside is a bit dated but has so much potential. We waited for a table outside because it was a bit cramped inside but it's such a cozy little place. The food was all delicious. You could tell the food was made with heart. The star was definitely our server! She was an older lady and was just a kind lady. I loved her. She was very attentive and her personality just shines! I hope when we get to visit again she will be there. I was really hopeful to try an egg Sando but they didn't have any in the little fridge so I hope I can get one next time. Came in for a drink and ordered a Dragon Fruit Tea and it wasn't want I expected. It tasted nice not great because, it was made with syrup. I was hoping for real dragon fruit pieces. So happy we finally tried this place. Got the Kimchi Jaeyuk Bokkeum and it was delicious! Just what I was hoping for. Nice and spicy but not spicy for no reason where there is only pain with no flavor. Shared the Baobun appetizer but could have happily eaten them both by myself. Husband got the spicy chicken ramen and loved it, even the miso soup was good! We are very excited to go back and try more of the menu. We have our favorites, the beef bulgogi or the tukagi bulgogi soup... even the bibmbap bowl are among our favorites. My husband really loves the tacos (without the sauce because he hates sauce) and the owner always knows who we are because of our special order. Hot Kim chi's owner treats her customers like family... she wants to make sure everyone loves her food & experience, so she goes above and beyond to make not only her sit down experience authentic but even her take home experience. We generally order to-go a lot because our little ones don't love Korean yet (but they will one day) and she always times it perfectly to get us the hottest freshest meal to go, we're never disappointed. I was forced to do a takeout order, because I arrived 40 minutes before they were going to close at 3:00pm (and reopen at 4:45pm). I returned to retrieve my order 30 minutes later as directed and staff practically shoved me out of the door and locked it. The food came in plastic to-go containers the size of your hand. Served in a stone bowl, it was boiling and so delicious. It's served with rice and it was enough to bring some home we also ordered beef bulgogi, delicious as well and brought some home. They had several baked goods available, we tried the Red Velvet cake, it was good! The outside front steps and porch area is super cute. They have seating available out front. Wow! Not only was I blown away by the taste of the dishes that I got , but the presentation was just as flawless ! It was our first visit and all though they were out of beef (heart broken) we ended up doing chicken bulgogi which was a pretty darn good back up! From the first step into the door the atmosphere was lovely. Very homey, authentic, and welcoming atmosphere . Our waitress/owners wife (I think) was very sweet and helpful to us! We decided to order the KFC (Korean fried chicken), takoyaki, Korean rice cake and dumpling soup, mochi, and strawberry iced latte. All were absolutely incredible dishes!
