When we got there, it was pretty empty. Our host/server was fantastic. She was so kind and even though the ac was out and they were very short staffed everything was fantastic. We love the food here, especially the tansuyuc pork or chicken (please don't mind my spelling of the dishes) and the Kimchi soup! Only thing is service is a little slow here but we don't mind the wait for good food. The cucumber kimchi salad was old and tasted old, the salad was completed drenched in dressing, the soda tasted watery, the host was so dry and rude, the place needs an update. This food was not prepared by any kind of Korean chef, I would bet my life savings on it, as certain components that are standard were missing, for starters. There were big, tough, chewy pieces of meat. The prices, in comparison to the portions here, have also increased to the point where it's not worth it anymore. And by complacency it seems like the big focus here now is their drinking crowd and their little bar business. They don't seem to be as concerned about the food these days. We stopped at this restaurant on several prior stops in Crestview and always had a decent meal. However, today was the worst my wife and I have ever had here. She ordered the pork bulgogi, and I had the beef. There was more than enough of each type, so portions were't the problem. The quality of the meat was horrible! Full of fat, and I mean chunks of it. What wasn't fat had to be chewed, and chewed, and chewed. Neither of us had more than two bites. The food is excellent... shushi is good, however the young waitress that works there has a bad attitude. She is not people friendly and is harsh when speaking to you on the phone for to go orders. Tonight, I decided to give in to my cravings for sushi and try out Arirang. We got there early, but the place filled up quickly. The yakimandu was just right, the kim bap crisp, and the salads had a very nice dressing that left us wanting more. We both had the steak dinner. The best thing on the plate was the vegetables. The steak and fried rice were both decent, but nothing to write home about. We both agreed that we'd be likely to try a different entree next time and that we'd have liked to try a Korean dish to see how the side dishes were. As I mentioned, though, I'd been craving sushi, and that's where this meal shone. I only had one roll: the Arirang special 2. Each piece was a perfect bite of crunchy and soft textures all working together with an amazing blend of flavors. All in all, this was a great meal. The owner was going out of town for a week to Georgia and hired my dad who drove a rental car ALL THE WAY FROM NC just to be fired a week later after the owner comes back. He literally just hired my dad as the sushi chef as a temporary employee so he could have someone to cover him during his vacation in Georgia. Since my dad is from NC, the owner even offered his apartment at Riverwood Apartments. However, around 3am the drunk owner kicks my dad out and calls the police.
