I have traveled all over and this is some of the best sushi I have EVER had. Pro tips: get the sunrise roll ADD jalapeño and cream cheese, salmon and yellowtail nigiri and ask for her special sauce. I am a bit of a sushi snob and did not expect this place to blow me away the way it did. I have never written a negative review about a restaurant before but I was very sad about my experience here, The gentleman that was our server was super nice down to earth but unfortunately the women making sushi who seemed to be the owner was consistently talking and not making the sushi as well as serving other customers she knew personally before people who had been first we waited 2.5 hours to eat, cute spot but they need to work on their professionalism could be a very successful place but unless you know the owner personally do not expect speedy service :( read more

This place is very busy and might be popular with the locals but I found it just meh! We got there within 10 mins of opening and waited FOREVER for food and service. Our poor waiter was by himself and until we were there for probably and hour and a half before we saw help for him show up. We did finally get our food and it was just alright. I think the tuna didnt have much flavor and the tempura appetizer tasted as if fried in old oil. My sons garlic chicken was more breading than chicken and basically the frozen dinners from the grocery store give you better meat to breading ratio. It could just be an off day. There were others in the place and their sushi rolls looked good however mine was just publix level. Not what I expected from a Japanese sushi restaurant. Service was definitely slow like others' reviews and it wasn't even crowded when we were there. The waitresses were all very friendly. They refilled our water and apologized for the wait. Food was disappointing to me. I guess I'm used to bigger rolls with nice pieces of raw fish. Our rolls were small and the fishes on top were paper thin. My bulgolgi beef bento box did not have the bulgolgi flavor that I'd known of. I liked the fried calamari best. The batter wasn't that great but the calamari was tender with a bit of chewiness. Dosirak is our go to for sushi. Chong has been rolling sushi for us since we moved to Ft. Walton Beach in 1995. Tonight we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there. We have never had a disappointing meal. She personally rolls every order and it is so worth the wait! Here's the thing: There is no authentic sushi in this area. So to compromise, we go to places like Dosirak, which makes okay sushi for the area, which truly is not saying much. The place looks closed from the outside but is actually open. We sat down in an empty restaurant and waited and waited for the menu. Finally I got up to get the menus myself and the server walks with me to the table, insistent on placing the menus on our table herself. Okay. The lady behind the fish counter was the silent, solemnly stoic type. We got a few rolls and my friend got the bulgolgi bento. Seriously, I'd stick with the sushi rolls.
