And the food is SO authentic and SO wonderful. Many years ago I spent two months in Asolo-- in summer course for singers. The Due Mori was one of our favorite dinner spots. The hostess (maybe owner at the time, was a dynamic red-headed Italian diva (in the good sense) named Gabriella. I can still see her smile. Of course I've been back many times since those student days. The place carries on the tradition-- this is the real deal! Bravi tutti!! Gabriella is probably smiling down from an eternal terrace and saying "Va bene!" Everything's fine... but really, better than fine.. I remember the open wood fire with a grill on it-- and things roasting....and pastas to die for-- and first conversations with young singers from various countries struggling with our only language we had in common-- Italian! We communicated and we dined in this painting. (And we were spoiled forever!) Si mangia bene qui!" One eats well here-- But take your time. Savor it-- the food, the view, the people, the place. This place is special--
Compliments of the chef. Vegetables are pickled perfectly.

Ok, I will make a list what is great: - A hip, 'young', yet Italian decoration (with Wi-Fi) - The food is served in a very alternative way. In jars, coloured square plates, beautifully decorated, with quality glasses and cutlery. - The food is clearly freshly made. Even the chocolate in the chocolate biscuit (desert served with vanilla mouse) tasted 'home made'. - The menu lists gluten-free items - The staff is willing to help you with your choice. I don't know much about wine so they suggested one to me. Last night we were there and the waiter knew the name of the wine my girlfriend wanted, before my girlfriend asked for it. - The restaurant has a wine store where the wine bottles on the menu and many more can be bought. The restaurant is also (just) a bar to 'just have a drink' (and a snack). On Sunday afternoon a la carte lunch is replaced by a buffet only (I did not try).

We arrived at the restaurant as soon as it opened to be informed that without a reservation we couldn't be seated (there was no option to reserve online and no working US phones between my sister and I that could call-out) Despite this, the staff was kind enough to allow us to be seated on the terrace and provided us blankets to use as it was very chilly the evening we went and they weren't even seating people on the terrace for dinner service. I guess you could say we were the black sheeps of their dinner service that night :) Our pasta course and main meat entree course were both absolutely delicious. We started with the maccheroncini pasta with lamb ragu and mushrooms that was out of this world. Then we moved on to veal cheek that was served with a carrot puree and some type of celery based cream. All of the flavors when combined in one bite perfectly accented the veal (which was cooked to a tender perfection.) For dessert, upon our waiter's recommendation, we had the pistachio lava cake with homemade lavender ice cream which unfortunately ended an otherwise delicious meal on a flat note. Our waiter said he felt it was the most underrated dessert on the menu but I feel it's just the most undesirable. The hot pistachio lava center was just TOO much pistachio for me and the lavender ice cream left something to be lacking. Unless you just REALLY love pistachio take a pass.
