Don't go to this restaurant! It's highly recommended by tripadvisor and so on but i will tell you…read morewhy should'nt go.4 people ordering food. Carpaccio for antipasto was very good, but we got a salad that we ordered for the maincourse. So to the maincourses. One mixed grill that was good, kingprawns were good. I ordered a medium pepper steak that was well done. My friend ordered fish and the waitor prepared it for her, when she got it served it was hardly any fish left, maybe 50 gram and they wanted 16 euro for that and it really didnt look that appetizing when served. She asked the waitors, but then he suddenly didnt understand english anymore. He just said: wait a moment. We started eating thinking the waitor would fix it. I should of complained about my meat being well done, but it was still tender so i started eating it.After 10 minutes still nothing about the fish so we asked again. Then the waitor started to discuss that we were the only ones complaining about the size of the fish, the french fries that we ordered had not yet showed up. I took a pic of the fish so you can make up your own mind. Even if the food were execellent it really didnt matter if the service is bad it can ruin the whole meal. She asked too return the food, because she did want to eat it. They then started to argue that we needed to pay for it. Both my friends are chefs so they know what a normal plate of fish should look like.we had also eaten fish in several restaurants so we knew what other places were serving. It ended up in a big discussion,we had to pay 90 euros and the waitor was very rude when we were on our way out. People outside waiting to get in,turned around and left. They should have been more professional about it and the problem would have been solved. So go here and eat what they serve and be ok,but dont complain about anything or you will get one of the shittiest food experiences that Lido di Jesolo has to offer!!

My husband and I had dinner at Al Bagatto when we were in Trieste for a day on a road trip from…read moreZagreb to Ljubljana earlier this summer. It was one of the best meals of our trip! Al Bagatto has been around for almost 50 years, and it was easy to see why. The food was outstanding. The service was wonderful. The ambiance was great - comfortable, traditional without being old-fashioned...just a restaurant where you're happy to sit and enjoy good food. We shared: breaded white asparagus with grilled green asparagus, green asparagus sauce beurre blanc, and grated egg yolk; stuffed squid with potatoes, green beans, calamari ragout, pistachio pesto, spring caponata, calamari sauce, and pistachio crumble; paccheri with shrimp ragout, seared shrimp, fava beans, and pea sauce; lasagna with rabbit ragout, pepper sauce, jalapeno sauce, yellow bell peppers, and Parmesan bechamel; and apricot tiramisu. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine and a couple of espressos with dessert as well. Every dish was great, but that stuffed squid is one I'm going to be thinking about for a long time. A truly outstanding meal! If I'm ever in Trieste again, I'd be happy to repeat the experience!

Great tasting menu, excellent seafood! Neither the exterior…read morenor the interior is impressive, but I promise the food will make up for it - they probably pay attention to that way more than they do to design and decor. The tasting menu consists of 5 seafood courses and 5 glasses of wine. I am NOT a fan of seafood and I still loved every single course (dorade fish carpaccio, scallops, spaghetti with scampi, sea bass and dessert).

We ordered the gnocchi and pappardelle pasta dishes, followed by panna cotta (highly recommend!) and cheesecake for dessert. We originally considered the bruschetta, but our thoughtful server advised us that the portions were large and filling--great advice, as dessert ended up being the perfect finishing touch. Wonderful ambiance and an excellent spot to dine. P.S. Be sure to double-check your bill; we were accidentally given the neighboring table's check. Honest mistake, but always good practice anywhere you go.

You can tell the staff really cares about making your experience special. We had the pappardelle with Italian sausage ragu and the homemade gnocchi with duck ragu -- both dishes were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. As a lovely surprise, we were served a complimentary lemon sorbet at the end of our meal, which was the perfect refreshing finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic food and genuine hospitality in Venice!
