Great budget hotel for the price!…read more The pool is small but quaint, there are 4 lounge chairs and a table as well. They also have snorkel for you to rent for 50 pesos. The front desk is very helpful, good English and will help you book anything you need or provide you recommendations -- they also let me use their phone to call my local tour guide. The location is not in the center of Tulum but is only a 10-15 minute walk, and about a 10-15 minute bike ride down to the ruins. It is right next to the San Francisca Supermarket - which if you ask the ADO bus they will stop right there. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. They provide a safe in the room, comfy bed with air conditioning, great water pressure on the shower -- great stay!

The pool area is well shaded (I enjoy my family's exposure to ionizing radiation being as low as reasonably achievable) and the hotel was quiet for my baby's naps. However, the most important thing to mention is the hospitality. Picture a dear friend of yours, and that they know where everything is, how to do everything, answers questions without you even knowing that you needed the answer, and that they speak 9 languages. This person is named Jana, and she made our stay here wonderful. The owners are also kind, magnificent individuals. If I were to win the lottery tomorrow, which would be odd since I don't gamble, I would promptly obtain a permanent residence here and spend the rest of my days enjoying the pool, and absorbing Jana's contagious optimistic perspective.

Located right on the coast, Habitas is a remarkable example of natural preservation and a quintessential way to experience Tulum the way it's supposed to be. This private jungle oasis is easily approachable from the main road, with staff directing guests where to park, which is along the street. The tents are very comfortable and the AC was sufficient despite intense summer heat. All the amenities are there. One of the best things is that there are no problems with bugs inside the tent as long as you are careful in keeping the doctor closed. Evenings are filled with noises of nature, including coati that love to frequent the roof of the tent and patio. There is pure magic to that, being surrounded not just by jungle plants, but animals too. Yet, it is something to keep in mind for some guests: do not expect a Marriott or a Hilton. This is a very real nature hotel. The restaurant is amazing and the design is very slick. Staff are attentive and helpful at all times. There is a nice little bar as well. Prices are high, but reasonable for Tulum relative to other hotels. The main area that was a little disappointing was the cleanliness of the pool. The water was greasy and borderline murky looking. Thus, this was the only real downside of the property. The pool is tiny as well. The hotel does allow outside guests to pay money and visit, so that does not help with keeping the pool clean and is the only reason I cannot give 5 stars. The beach, while swimmable, was loaded up with seaweed in early summer. The staff did an amazing job trying to clean up the seaweed, but it felt like an impossible task as they worked most of the day, yet more seaweed kept coming. As a whole, a remarkable property that I can recommend with no hesitation.

We turned on the AC & left we were gone for about more than an hour. We left came back and our room was still hot. It was ridiculous. It was so much cooler outside. We saw a cube on the small dresser beside the beds that said we can chat with the representatives up front. I texted them at 11:17pm and I told them. Then after I didn't get a response I went ahead and went up to the front. We told them what was going on & he said " I don't Have anyone here to go check that every one is gone. You would have to wait til the morning for them to go check them" we told him it was fine but that we wanted to change a room. And he said "but I have to have a reason why your air is not working. I will send someone to go check it" Then after he had sent a message saying someone was going up there. All he guy came to do was take a video of the air showing it wasn't working. They did change our room but he was so rude about it and didn't want to give the attention the room needed. We also went into the little store they had there and that girl that was there was rude she rolled her eyes when I commented to my aunt that it was hot. The breakfast was good, their orange juice was amazing! Breakfast staff was amazing and so nice. They also had a party event in the evening & when we checked the ladies up front told us about it she said it opened @8pm and closed/ended @2am when we went after we had gone to dinner they had a security guard there and he told us that he was not letting us in. It was around 12 when we had gone and he said that he was not going to let us in. The next day we went out to the beach and it was nice and beautiful. We asked the people around and they said that they were there till 1:30ish in the morning.

Boho style room steps away from loungers on the beach. We had a poolside partial ocean view room booked, but our ocean view was amazing from first floor room 17. The water pressure was great, water got hot and the room/bathroom were clean. We slept like a rock each night and the hotel was a 10-15 minute walk down the road from popular restaurants and shops. There is free parking and a nice pool. Also plenty of daybeds at the beach. We also loved the daily included breakfast and the cocktails we purchased. The passion fruit margarita was my favorite! I wouldn't hesitate to book Coco again!

It was a slow day so we were quickly seated (on the floor) with a beautiful beach view. PARKING Extremely limited to no parking which is the case for many restaurants/hotels along this strip. Recommended to take a taxi to/from here. FOOD/DRINK We really just came for the drinks but ended up getting hungry so we ordered some things to nibble on. The food did it's job, but it wasn't anything special. If there was one thing to recommend, it would be the GAMBERI PIZZA. I personally loved the shrimp on there and it was the first thing to go out of the four. Check the drink specials they're having for the day. We ended up ordering a lot of maragritas because they were 2 for 1 and honestly they weren't bad. OVERALL Don't come with high expectations for food. Come for the drinks, music and vibes. If you want something less crowded and touristy (although it IS still along the tourist strip) highly recommend coming here.

First, I need to preface this review with the fact that our family is a "stress test" for…read moreeverywhere we go. We have 3 younger, extremely spirited boys (nicknamed The Wolverine Monkeys), and we basically booked the whole hostel for 2 weeks to use as a home base with friends and family who met us in Tulum. This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in and I travel the world for a living. The accommodations are clean, super cool in style (Lucha Libre, Frida and Tattoo themes!), with every amenity you need. Clean comfy beds, fluffy towels, good showers, a pool for cooling off, great free breakfast in the mornings and the cheapest bike rentals in town. The hostel is small with only two private double rooms and three bunk rooms, which makes it cozy and helps avoid the party atmosphere of some hostels I have stayed in. The kitchen is well stocked with basics and is vegetarian only. There is a grill up on the great rooftop lounge for carne y pescado. We're not vegetarian, but we really didn't miss cooking meat, at all. When we craved meat, we went on "taco walks" (the torta/taco stand in the AKI Supermercado parking lot is fantastic and CHEAP!). We had a great BBQ on the roof one night! Alcohol is not allowed to be stored in the kitchen, which is another great feature that prevents a party atmosphere. We kept a cooler in our private room and the staff provided us with ice to keep it cool. The hostel is at the Coba/Tulum crossroad which makes access to two supermarkets, the beaches, cenotes (Gran Cenote was our favorite, an easy bike ride away at 3km) and the Tulum main drag, super easy. All of that is enough to make for a perfect place to stay, but the real magic of this place is the amazing staff. Javi and Don Fermi and his family are just beautifully kind and patient and could not have been more helpful. Fantastic suggestions for day trips, advice for avoid the seaweed scourge (FYI, cenotes are the new beaches!! Amazing clear water swimming/snorkeling with turtles, fish, bats, owls and all UNDERGROUND!!!) and genuine caring and assistance. They simply made every problem we had while here disappear. Our vacation was a beautiful success, primarily due to their patience and assistance. Don Fermi also runs the car rental service next door and has the best prices and services in town. We just passed Hostal Chalupa in the ADO bus to head for the airport and everyone groaned in sadness. We already miss it, and everyone who works there. We will be back. We loved Hostal Chalupa.
