Near by CVS, close to Ralps market, restaurants, bar club.... Room: they clean everyday. They give you shower towel for each bed, also there are a lot of towel in bathroom. So many bathroom in this hostel, one in room and another 2 each floor. Kitchen: this area is big and comfortable with all of stuffs you can use. Open 24 hours, whenever you feel hungry you can make some foods. Hot water, coffee machine,....always ready for you. Laundry: $1 for wash and $1 for dry. Only quarter so you can get change at cashier. A little but old system but good condition and working very well. Customer service: They have so many people who work as a receptionist at different time. I lived here 2 weeks and met all. All of them is friendly, kindly, helful and professional. Impressive work!!! Price: Im pretty sure you will get cheaper price when you book the room at this hostel, or on official hostel's website more than on any online app. And cheaper if you book on weekday compare to weekend. Great job Hi SD hostel team!!! Very high recommendation for all of travellers around the worlds!!!!

We were provided with bedding and towels. The rooms were large and there was a ton of bathrooms. The beds were pretty comfortable. Was happily surprised by the amenities - a game room and a movie room and a really large kitchen. Also a perk that they had free breakfast. Only complaint is that they don't have a heater on in the hallways so it's freezing. Also it's not very soundproof so it's very loud being so close to the gas lamp quarter.

I needed a quick place to stay near the beach to run my 5K and grabbed a room here at California…read moreDreams. I don't mind staying in hostels and was able to get one of their private rooms. There are also dorm rooms with bunk beds and shared bathrooms. The common area is nice with a large couch, a kitchen for cooking and storing food and a TV. Pacific Beach is a few steps away with plenty of dining options around. I had a nice time here. You can't beat the price to stay so close to the ocean. The staff was great and gave me a tour of the facility when I arrived. You can rent equipment like surfboards, bikes, skateboards, beach towels, etc from the front office. California Dreams has everything you need to make your beach experience fun. They also run a coffee shop outside in the mornings.

I was first in bathroom when I woke up, so no issues using the bathroom. I slept very well. Woke up twice in the middle of the night, but I'm a light sleeper. Heard light snoring in middle of night. The staff was very friendly. Asked purpose of visit. Fully explained all amenities. Gave complimentary ear plugs. I was a little worried about finding parking at 11pm. But there were a ton of spaces everywhere. I would definitely come back here again.

First of all the pictures make it look nicer than it is. I liked the place and would stay again,…read morebut it's not for everybody. It is located right on the border between the two border entrances. The location has its pluses and minuses which I will discuss later. When I entered it looked like a flop house with families laying on mattresses. I questioned myself as to my choice. I had to ask someone for directions and they directed me to the second floor. There was a reception desk, separate bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen, dining area, living room and the two tier sleeping cubicles. When I was shown my cubicle I was pleasantly surprised how clean the linens were. The cubicle came with a sheet, pillow with pillow case and a blanket. Safety: theres activity in the living space (cooking, talking) till at least 11pm. While I could hear it from my cubicle it made me feel safe. The family that runs the place lives there and there is someone at the front desk 24/7. There is a long line of manned cabs outside the entrance 24/7. Being that the location is by the border there are a lot of police. If all hell was to break loose you could run to the US border in about a minute. Noise level is high, but surprisingly I didn't hear anything from people sleeping in the cubicles around me. Location minuses: there is not much to do there, especially at night. To get anywhere in Tijuana you have to cross no mans land which is too dangerous at night. You have to cab it out of there and back at night . Internet price was around $11. Patrons all seemed to be on there iPhone and kept to there selves which made for little interactions. If your a seasoned 3rd world traveler this place will probably be acceptable

So I'd rate this as a decent place that's way to comfortable disturbing my rest . It sounds like school cafeteria full of people trying to talk at the same time. LOUD . I'm talking construction zone noise levels! For the most part I enjoy the respectful staff. The manager and his wife are very nice and professional. But the guests that live there longer term live on the middle floor in private rooms . They wake up early . Unfortunately for the rest of the guests that means EVERYONE SLEEPING IN THE MAIN FLOOR IS DISRUPTED by there early habits. The noise doesn't stop until 11pm it's loud all day. For some reason the employees including the manger and his wife don't ask them to be respectful. put up a sign or mention to the loud guests that they should cook at 9am and not 7am . the kitchen should be closed until 9am I wish to treat the common space like there is paying guests within reach of those sleeping . You can hear a pin drop in the common room. But who cares about the guests that are obviously trying to save money during a struggle . (You would stay in a private room if you could afford it ) Like clockwork every morning At 7am and they come up and feel very comfortable with speaking across the room using outside voices . Not to mention the Tv is loud and the radio has to be louder then the tv of course lol They basically function like it's noon instead of 7am :(
