Came here my first night in Rome simply because it was near the hotel and we were starving. Turned out to be great, one of our favourite places during our stay in Rome. There were a fair number of locals eating here, always a good sign. Place wasnt super busy though, it was around 9pm I think. Our server was great, he spoke fluent English too which was helpful. We ordered a few things: side of greens - nothing special fresh pasta with grouper fish sauce - ordered out of curiousity, but this was delicious mussels - great soup of the day - cant remember what it was - fine. and the highlight of the meal was a dessert the server recommended, some kind of layered cake soaked in booze. That was excellent. Pricing was typical, but portions bit bigger than most places. Would recommend. read more

A family run restaurant, and the portion size here is a lot larger than most restaurants in Italy. As for the price for each entree, it is not as inflated as others restaurants. We also notice that this place do have their regular locals, so you know it is more legit. One thing you all must try is their Tiramisu, best I've ever had! Delicious meal! Lightly fried zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta, it was a light and fresh appetizer with delicate yet bold flavors. Fresh spaghetti with small fish and a plate of fresh whole fish and roasted potatoes. The fish was filleted from being selected out of the display case... so flaky, moist and fresh! Lemon pie... oh my! This was a mild flavor yet fresh and light. What a incredible find in Roma when we visited 6 years ago and have always dined here at least two times on every visit, since. The food, ambiance, and staff are all off the charts, SOOOO GOOD. From the moment you walk in the front door to the moment you walk out the front door you are treated as family in one of the finest restaurants in all of Italy. This place is fabulous. Family run, Vincenzo, his wife Lina, daughter, and son were all very involved with making sure everything was running perfectly the night we were there. If you want pizza, go somewhere else, it's not on the menu. However, if you want fresh and fabulous seafood and pasta there is no better place. I had the Tuna steak and it was the best I ever had. My companions also had sea bass, seafood pastas and bucatini, and all of the dishes were excellent. This is quickly become one of my most favorite restaurants in Rome. read more

For those who just want the quick version, this was an AMAZING meal and the service was excellent! I walked by this restaurant all week as it is one block past the apartment I rented, but tonight it was raining and didn't feel like going far and decided to stop in to see if a table was available. They were very welcoming and in fact all the staff turned and said good evening in Italian as we made our way to our table. I started with the zucchini flowers, fried yet delicate and perfectly seasoned, then onto the pasta cooked to perfection and eggplant parmesan (aubergine), and steak with mushroom sauce which was delicious and perfectly cooked! I was paying my bill and asked where I could get milk for my morning coffee in the area, it was late and as the woman was trying to describe the closest place she walked away and came back with a whole bottle of milk and said "here, it is raining and late", so kind. I enjoyed the meal so much I may break my rule and head back again tomorrow. read more

First night in Rome and yelp gave me this place based on the amazing reviews. It's around the block from my hotel and what an amazing place. Starters we had one zucchini flower and mussels. Both were delicious. The broth for the mussels was perfect. Primi I had spaghetti carbonara which was magnificent and my wife had spaghetti with a half of lobster and cherry tomatoes. She loved it and I tried the lobster and it was amazing. So delicious fresh and sweet. Our main we had the Roman veal with a white wine sauce. Absolutely phenomenal. Also a side of roasted potatoes. Dessert we had tiramisu and a coffee and amaro. All that with 3 glasses of wine during dinner for only 93 euro. What an amazing place it's a family owned and operated restaurant so definitely give them a try you won't be disappointed. read more

Nothing beats carbonara when you're visiting the Eternal City, especially when it takes a seeming eternity to get there. I had a brief layover in Rome, flying from LA through Vegas and Philly before heading to the Adriatic. Carbonara is what I affectionately think of as "breakfast pasta", because it is bacon and eggs. You can eat it at any time of the day, but it must be made properly, or you get messy scrambled eggs instead of the divine creamy coated pasta with plenty of black pepper and crispy guanciale that melts in your mouth. My friend Carolann, who lived in Rome until recently, sent me here and promised me Paola and Rita would take care of me. This restaurant is a hidden gem, close to the train station, en route to Vatican City after you've seen the Via Condotti shopping, the Spanish steps, the Trevi Fountain and walked along the Villa Borghese. This is a local place. You'll appreciate the exercise after that stick to your rib goodness, authentic home style cooking. Before I knew it, I was back in the airport, but Da Vincenzo will be a must for me when I'm here. read more

Our family enjoyed dinner here during our stay in Rome. The Italian artichoke was superb! We had several starters and entrees and four of the desserts. Excellent! It seems to be frequented by mostly locals, not that many tourists. I would give it a try if you're looking for some authentic Italian cuisine, although it can be a little pricey. read more

Schizophrenic service with so-so food. The service veered between being rushed and non existent - frustrating even if it isn't that unusual in Italy! This place was recommended to us, and the online reviews seemed okay. I was cautious having been in Rome a few days and finding that many restaurants (even when having glowing Yelp reviews) to be mediocre at best. This proved to be the case here as well. We were meeting up with family and the waiter was rushing right as we sat down when we were still just trying to catch up with one another. He also kept pushing a lobster salad long after we had made it quite clear that none of us were interested in ordering it, despite his recommendation. Their was some confusion about how many items were on an appetizer, even though we had tried to clarify it, knowing that the language barrier can cause confusion. Rather disappointing overall, especially since it wasn't located close to where any of us were staying. read more

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel and since it had good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I tasted the shrimp with clam linguini, the spaghetti and grouper, the breaded veal and the penne pasta with tomato sauce. The shrimp linguini was decent. It was a bit too al denté and salty but not bad. The pasta with grouper consisted on minced grouper with spaghetti in a red sauce. The penne pasta was really spicy and the breaded veal was too dry. In summary this place is okay. Everyone finished their meals. The bill was 60 euros for 4 meals with no drinks. read more

We enjoyed this restaurant. It is a few blocks from the Repubblica Metro station, so easy to find if not a local. Mostly Italians with a few tourists. Not expensive, but not cheap either. About 70 Euros for an antipasto plate, a couple of entrees, salads, and a liter of wine. We had grilled fish for two, a bottle of Chard, meat and cheese antipasto, and salads. One of only two restaurants my family really enjoyed with authentic italian cuisine on our Roma trip. A lot of locals frequent this place, not touristy at all. Everything was so delicious and the atmosphere was very intimate. The outdoor seating was comfortable and we were able to see what looked to be the owner, who prepared every dish for the customers outside from prepared large portions. But the dish that tantalized our tastebuds, that was the epitome of something we could never forget, were the mussels. Coming from NY and NJ, where italian restaurants are at every turn, we've had our fair share of garlic white wine sauces. But as soon as we tasted this sauce, sitting in the refreshing night air of Rome, nothing could ever compare again. It is the best damn white wine garlic sauce I have ever tasted, cooked with tons of fragant aromatic garlic, butter and silky olive oil with the right amount of white wine and not the overbearing alcohol taste - the mussels were cooked to perfection. Then came the delicious oysters, the size of my hand! To finish off the meal, we had a platter of fresh fruit, that was accompanied by a bowl of water to wash; very elegant. Every piece, from the cherries and apricots down to the peaches, was simple yet oh so good. Then the palm-sized green figs that were sweeter than honey, and the cloud of panna cotta with home-made berry sauce to top. All in all, a fine establisment of Italian cusine in Rome. read more

The Ravioli is wonderful. Service was better than attentive...the waiter said I was "Lovely...more than lovely"...anyway, back to the food, Risotto was cooked just right and full of flavor. Did not realize you could mess up caprese, three simple ingredients right? Wrong! They just served us tomato and mozzarella.... no basil. The spaghetti with clams shrimp and cherry tomatoes was just served with noodles and clams, was missing the other ingredients that were stated on the menu. read more

My friend and I arrived in Rome after having terrible food experiences in Venice. The front desk clerk at the hotel we are staying at (Hotel Crosti) recommended this Resturant. We were skeptical but decided to go. We are so glad we did! The Hostess was amazing friendly and explained everything on the menu. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. We tried the Fried Zucchini flowers (DELICIOUS) and the Parmigiana. It was such a good experience we decided to go again the next night. Service was SUPERB! We had the mussels (they were delicious, well cooked and tender) my friend tried the Risotto which she loved and I had the cannelloni. I will defiantly come back on my next trip to Rome. read more

This is the best restaurant in Rome! Our family of six ate here 3 times. We couldn't find anything we didn't like. They welcomed us like family everytime. My kids were so sad we were leaving Rome. We have known Vincenzo since the 1970s when he first opened and since then have been regular visitors and enjoyed the most exquisitely prepared and delicious meals that beat any other restaurant in Rome. The service is always extremely professional but also very warm and exceptionally welcoming.
