Tyler did a fall furnace checkup. Two weeks later the humidifier fell off the furnace and broke…read more He tried to deny that he hadn't properly refstened it, but after my in-person visit to the company they agreed to install a new humidifier at no cost. For that reason, I had them do a spring checkup, Emma claimed the heat exchanger was cracked, the fly wheel needed cleaning, and the a/c compressor was "over amping." I had a different, highly reputable company check the furnace and a/c, and they found that none of this was true - neither the furnace nor the a/c had any problems. Also, Emma did not provide a written a written description of her service and recommendations, and they have not provided the promised receipt for the payment of the second inspection. They are either incompetent or dishonest, very possibly both.

I have a 2 yr old HVAC system purchased from Swiss Air. Recently my furnace was not heating…read moreproperly and a severe winter storm was days away. Tyler came out and found no issue with furnace. 2 days later Bill came out and after 3 hours found that the thermostat wasn't communicating fully with furnace. Still no repairs made. Bill returned a day later and moved thermostat to lower level next to furnace in so it worked thru winter storm and gave me a bid of $400 to move thermostat back to original location in family room. After reviewing the path of the wires through the garage, up into a closet, and finally in through the wall, I decided their were too many possible points of failure and decided to leave thermostat in lower level but needed it moved over a foot so as not to impede doors covering HVAC area. Bill said the cost will be the same per company regs and wouldn't re-bid the job even though it was significantly less time and labor than the previous bid. He also needed to reconnect the A/C so I guess I'll find out this summer if that was done properly. I cancelled on the spot and will hire another HVAC company in the future to move the thermostat 12 inches to the left so I can close the closet door and test the A/C. I'm extremely unhappy.

We had a chimney cap that needed to be fastened and caulked…read more I called this morning and let them know I needed it done today if possible because of the storms coming this week. Austin out and let me know that he would come over and handle this before the afternoon was up Once he arrived, he was very professional and timely. He finished the repair in a half hour and was able to keep the cost down on my end considerably. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of their services

Over Labor Day weekend I had Elite out as my AC went out. The technician came out and replaced the…read morecapacitor. In testing the fan motor, the motor was free spinning without any resistance or slowing/drag observed. The unit started up. One week later, the unit went out again, but this time the fan motor was locked up. The fan motor and the capacitor replaced and the unit started up. During this second repair the technician took the capacitor I had purchased for $500 (a part online for $25), did a test, didn't report the numbers to me, and told me he was placing the part back into inventory on his truck. I reached out to Elite after this repair asking for a refund of the capacitor in the amount of $300 to so that the technicians repair time was covered for the holiday time the week before, and they refused. My rational for the refund, and my concern, is that there is a potential that the capacitor to replace the originally failed one was used, given the apparent practice of technicians using old/worn parts that have been placed back into their inventory. While the technician stated that the capacitor still tested ok, given that this specific capacitor was installed during the motor lockup, it is inherently altered and worn. Wit this practice, I am concerned that such a used capacitor was installed on my unit with the fan working properly, and thus caused overheating of the motor with a weakened capacitor. Elite has offered no refund at this time, and I have canceled all of my extended families' services with the organization, given that they have the potential of utilizing worn parts and selling them as new parts.

Shortly thereafter the furnace stopped working. The company that they sent out replaced my furnace but did a horrible job and charged me extra. I contacted Jade at RiteAir and he came out the next day to take a look. He had to remove the unit and redo the sheet metal work in order to make it function properly. He also made a filter tray to enable the air filter to be changed without bending the air filter. My dad was there on site during the work performed by both companies. He was impressed with Jade and the quality of his work. The other company, not so much. I have since used RiteAir Heating and Cooling on two other properties to replace aging HVAC systems. He did quality work ant a reasonable price. Also, my dad has used Jade since then on two of his properties and his home. We are both particular with the contractors that we use, and we had both been using another HVAC company for years without problems, but Jade won us over.
