Delicous pastries at a very reasonable price! We had the vasito con chocolate and a pastel selva negra. Service was friendly.

What a pleasant surprise to find Salt and Sugar in the middle of Sevilla! After walking around the…read morecathedral and old town, it was time for a much needed break, because man, this town is huge! Alas, handy dandy Yelp saved the day (as it always seems to do) and directed me to this cute little pastry shop hidden between the windy streets of Sevilla. The shop is small with only 3 tables inside and some seating available outside. It's super cute too with a french aesthetic, pastel walls, and jars of pastries sitting right in the middle. We were lucky enough to snag a table at 5pm and ordered right away as I was excited to try their apple cake (recommended by Yelp) which was suprisingly an apple tart! My dad who joined me during my unofficial tea time ordered an espresso and cheesecake as well. I was very happy with the offerings, as I could say that I haven't had a better apple tart, even in France! It was flaky, not too sweet, and a downright beautiful pastry with apple folds in the middle! The cheesecake was great too with a homemade marmalade on top. The pastries blew me away and if you're looking for a nice place for a break of even a quick morning option that isn't typical to Sevilla, come here and you won't be disappointed at all!

Located within 5 minutes walking of the Alcazar it makes for an easy stop in before or after visiting the Alcazar. Everything is served on mismatched china in the courtyard of a Spanish home (cool right?). However, there is where my gushing stops. Service was very poor on a morning that wasn't busy (from the looks of it). We had to ask twice for our orders to be taken (language barrier wasn't the issue), the food was mediocre at best. NOT real churros by any means. They had a weird almost plastic taste to them and the chocolate was very watery with no flavor. The tortilla de patata was also very dry. Not rushing back by any means.

Service was kind and delightful and the shop is such a delightful little escape right around the corner from tourist heavy spots.

On our trip to Seville we saw this place and out of curiosity wandered in. What a great find. 2…read moreyoung ladies from the US wanted to bring the food and coffee that you only find today in elite farm to table American coffee houses to Seville. The coffee is great - organic, sourced from either single sources or a co-op. The owners were captured by Spain's use of fresh ingredients, but disappointed that they couldn't find the same coffee that they had experienced growing up. In a city full of amazing food, Torch made me break one of my standard traveling rules, never go to a place twice. And to be clear, it wasn't just the coffee. The breakfast gourmet toast was so good, we came back to grab a sandwich for lunch. If you care, they speak English and have an English menu. Don't miss this gem!!!

That exact situation occurred when I visited Torch Coffee Roasters. When the barista saw I was about to snap a picture, he asked me if he could redo it. I compromised. I did not get another drink because I did not want to waste the one I got. However, I agreed to take a picture of his next latte for another customer so I had a more representative example of his skills. In terms of my latte, the presentation was subpar but the substance was very good. The texture was smooth and the taste had no hint of bitterness. Torch Coffee Roasters also had the most space of the coffee shops I tried in Seville. Accordingly, definitely get the latte to stay if you are not in a rush. The latte art is excellent if you do. And today,…read moreon a chilly late November afternoon, just as I was feeling the late autumn blues, I spotted Ofelia. Now, if you have read my reviews, you know that there is one Sevillan bakery that has claimed my heart: Dulce Regina. But Ofelia is a very, very close second. When my husband asked me how to compare the two cookies, I said this: Ofelia is a more sophisticated cookie, slightly more intellectual, more complex in its taste. It's a New York City cookie. It's stylish, thin, small, compact. It comes in a lovely tiny plastic bag wrapped with a bow. It's not a comfort cookie, not an after-school cookie, not a fresh-out-of-the-oven-chips-still-runny like Dulce Regina which is just decadent and big and buttery. So, the truth is, you should try both cookies and savor their differences and remember how lucky Sevilla is to have two cookie spots that are this good. Extra points to Ofelia for general cuteness - what a lovely, lovely little spot!

The cafe itself is very cute and modern with cutsie decorations and nice staff. I would recommend getting a spanish breakfast here (desayuno de tostaditos o pan con tomate o algo asi) and to not get a super complicated order.
