I first stopped at the horizon on Fairoaks Boulevard. I've gone there before and enjoy their service. Unfortunately it was closed. I went to the horizon smog on Auburn Boulevard near Greenback. This shop is smaller, but the service was terrific. I'm glad I went to Horizon smog. They also have a coupon for a smog check for about $40 plus another eight or $10 for the smog certificate. It only took about 15 minutes to get the smoke check. I would definitely go back to the horizon smog on Auburn and greenback. read more

no thanks. they were rude and unprofessional to my daughter when she brought her car in. she waited 30 minutes and they ended up taking someone else who came in after her. She ended up leaving. read more

Got my 2017 Camry smog here today and had a great experience. Super fast, friendly and very helpful. I will be bringing all my vehicles here un the near future. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I needed a smog check for my upcoming vehicle renewal. I walked into this Horizon Smog location on Auburn Blvd. (There are 2 other locations...Carmichael and Sacramento...addresses online.) There were 3 people ahead of me. The technician was handling everything (check in, smog check, and cashiering). He was professional, knowledgeable and had the best attitude. He kept everything moving and people were in and out in about 20 mins. The small waiting area was bright with the sun shining in all the windows. For a place with only one technician, I was impressed with how organized and efficient the technician ran the shop.) A++) There are coupons online however, the prices are comparable to other locations. I highly recommend this location of Horizon Smog. read more

Horizon Smog on Auburn Blvd. Is very inexpensive and he's fast.. I would recommend going here for your smog checks. It's a Star Station also

Please don't waste your time with these clowns! They said open till 5:30. I even called 20 min before and the guy that answered confirmed the time. I showed up at 5pm and they were closed! Called them while I was there and his excuse was that the Smog Tech was sick. 0 STARS read more

The service technician was professional, fast, and knowledgeable. I was in and out within 45 minutes or less for the entirety of the visit, and he was finishing running a smog check on a truck. I called before driving to the location to ask if I needed an appointment, and he said come on in! The whole experience was a breeze! read more

Polite young man smogged my car. I was in and out in 16 minutes. Didn't have to make an appointment and they had an online coupon. Great service at a great price - only place I will take my car! read more

68+ and I pass! Thank you, Horizon. Friendly and good customer service. My go to star smog from now on. I recommend this business for your next smog. I have the coupon but so c they did a fantastic job with smog, I don't feel like taking away 20 off their price. Thank you! read more

Quiet and rude service. Don't waste your time! Don't give them your key. Pretty danger worker. Don't let him open your hood and brake something under it. Keep away that location!!! read more

He did a good job of smoging my old 1997 Nissan Altima and the washer wiper worked better than before.I don't know what he did but that hadn't worked for years and now it does. I think besides making an old car pass the smog, I think he fixed that washer wiper thing. read more

The customer service here is horrible. I called asking to making an appointment around 10:00am and the gentleman wouldn't schedule me he just said "come whenever" and I told him I had work and couldn't be there till 5:30pm and when I showed up at 5:30pm he stood there shaking his head at me that they were closing. I definitely do not recommend. read more

Got me in and out quickly, friendly tech, and can't beat the price only 48$ out the door with a coupon. Will be returning next time I need a smog! read more

5 Stars Hands Down!! I drove past the location earlier in the day; I called the number and asked what they charged for a Smog Check for my Vehicle Type I was quoted $38. I went to the location later there was only one person working everything, and his name was Rigo. Rigo was performing the smog checks, he was checking people in, he was taking payments! I waited about 30min since there were others ahead of me, but once it was my turn I was done in about 10min. This is the place to go! Friendly, EXCELLENT customer service, and quick & thorough job, not to mention you can't beat the price. Thank you Horizon Smog, you now have a loyal customer! Also if management reads this PLEASE PLEASE give Rigo some well deserved recognition! read more

My regular smog shop changed owners and is no longer a star certified smog shop. I looked online and Horizon was close to my house so I hit them up on my way home from work. Showed up around 3pm and there were 2 people ahead of me, but I only had about a 20 minute wait. The technician, Kevin, was polite explaining everything to me, and efficient with the task. I was on my way home 35 minutes after my arrival. I highly recommend Horizon and Kevin. read more

Looked around a lot before I came here. Horizon smog is the best deal you will get. Only one person working there, and he was very polite and professional. The smog test didn't take long at all. I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

Quick and easy smog service! Was in and out of there in about 30min. Purchased a vehicle about a month ago and got a letter from DMV that we needed to do a smog. If the previous owner hasn't done a smog within 90 days it's required by the new owner to do it. Anatoly was very friendly and communication was excellent from start to finish for what was expected. Definitely recommended! read more

Got a smog check, it was quick and easy. Not too expensive, $60 without the coupon. I didn't have a coupon and the owner didn't offer it. Not the worst deal, but it is what it is. read more

Needed my car a smog test..Came here because it was close and the price was the same as others that you have to use coupons for. The dude that did my test was funny we talked a by about cars and then he was off to the garage through the bay doors to due my smog..Lucky for me there was only one car there prior to me being there..I waited 30 or 40 mins..seemed fairly quick and everything passed..If you need to get your smog at a fair price and don't have to worry about a shady mechanic doing your smog..Check this place out.. read more

Very pleasant experience getting my 2010 Explorer smogged today. Got there around 1:30 pm, had only one employee working (Rigo, a very nice, polite, and efficient man!), four customers ahead of me, and a nice cool waiting room to sit in (it was pretty warm outside so that made the wait much better!). Enjoyed chatting with the other customers and when it was my turn, Rigo quickly completed the smog test, gave me a $10 discount (using their online coupon I mentioned upfront to him), and got me on my way! I was there a little more than an hour but it was no biggie. I'd definitely recommend their business to anyone! Thanks, Rigo! read more

was there early, but still ended up being 3rd in line. however, I was only there about an hour when everything was said and done. very friendly and fast. pretty clean shop. tech works alone, so I'm thankful for him. make sure you check out their website for periodic coupons! read more

One of the best service, with coupon good price. Worker very friendly and helpful. Been their few time and definitely recommend!!!

Horizon Smog has a $37 special smog inspection. Plus $10 if you pass but compared to most in the area that want $70-90 dollars. I was pleased I wish they had AC seating but I was in and out before I could complain. Maurice/Mo was friendly and forthcoming with Information and he made the process simple as possible. This is the best bang for your buck and close to Carmichael DMV. read more

I would highly recommend this location for a smog test. Rigo provided great customer service, fast and efficient.

Great service! I took in my sons car and it passed the smog, but didn't pass the visual, there was a cut in one of his intake coupler. He told me what it needed to be fixed and even where I could grab one. We went back in for the retest and it was quick and passed with flying colors. He is very helpful and professional. read more

Horizon Smog - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Citrus Heights, California

Thank you so much for the great smog service!!! Rigo did a great job!! A++ love this location

I came to this location on 3-3-23 which was a Friday. The man let me know that since I had a 1992 Honda that his machine needed to be calibrated ( he mentioned he did not calibrate it as recommended) and to come back tomorrow. I came back the next day and he tested my car. He was having issues with the machine kept getting noticeably upset slamming down the hood even was mentioning to other customers how he was having issues with his machine. Long story short my car failed. I didn't think too much of it until I spoke with my father who said that the car is in good shape and it should pass. I did let my father know how the man mentioned that he needed to calibrate the machine the day before. I ended up taking it a few weeks later to a different smog place and it passed. I feel that the man took my money knowing his machine was not calibrated properly. I decided to go back and ask him for my money back since I did not believe his machine was properly calibrated. He told me to leave. I hope this review will stop people from getting scammed. I called the Horizon in Natomas and was told the machine was not working properly. This location should have done the same thing. Instead they took my money knowing his machine was not working right. If you have an older car DO NOT TAKE IT TO 6170 AUBURN BLVD. read more

The gentleman who helped me wasn't much of a talker, but I have social anxiety so it all worked out just fine. I was in and out in about ten minutes, and paid just under $40. I'm very happy with my experience there, and will come again. :) read more

I'd give these people zero stars if I could. I've been going here since I moved here 8 years ago for all of my vehicles. Brought in my car to get smogged and he charged me $70, despite it not passing. He told me to change the air filter and a couple of other simple suggestions and bring it back and it should pass fine. No problem. I made all of the changes needed, brought the car back the next day. The car actually passed smog, but he refused to pass it because there was a small crack he saw that he said "could" potentially crack all the way through in a few months. I'm hearing this statement, as I look up and see their posted sign stating they are not mechanics and are not allowed to diagnose anything with your car. WTF? You are supposed to be passing cars based on what you see now, not what they might do a few months down the road. He refused to give me a refund. BEWARE- they are completely shady and dishonest! Spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere! read more

Price: $24.75 + $8.25 = $33.00 Total! Service: The Tech Robert was friendly and even with some small talk and my asking a few questions, the whole process only took about 15 minutes. Also told me that on 2000 and newer cars the the DMV no longer requires them to run the car on the dynamometer or put a sensor in the tailpipe. Now they only need to do a Visual Inspection (quickly eyeballed the gas cap and the entire exhaust system starting at the engine under the hood, then underneath the car all the way to the tailpipe), and a Functional Inspection (hooked the Smog Check Machine to the OBD Connector on the car, typed in some info, ran a printout, and done)! Location: On Auburn Blvd just off Greenback Ln, across the street from Maita Honda. Sort of a dumpy looking little shop all by itself on the Southwest end of Desimone Ln., and there were no complementary food or drinks,... but there is lots of parking, and the office was nice and warm on a cold and wet Saturday afternoon. So, bottom line... Low price, fast friendly service, and convenient location!!! read more

This is always my first choice in smog check destinations. This is a smog only STAR facility so no matter what the DMV throws at me, they can handle it here. Prices are pretty standard here but when I bring in 2 cars at a time they give me a good deal. I havnt had a car fail here yet but they always do over my results with me and let me know how my cars are doing.. I highly reccomend this shop but be prepared to wait. This is a very popular destination so there may be a few cars ahead of you. read more
