Website advertising is not true. The website offers 24/7 emergency services everyday but that is not true. Our AC received annual maintenance by you 9 days ago and this morning it is not working. I called first thing this morning and even though I have asthma and we're headed into a severe heat wave they can't come until tomorrow afternoon. Don't say 24/7 emergency services everyday unless it is true! read more

Saw an advertisement by Horizon that said for $ 49.00 they would Tune up the AC system; we have 2 zones with 2 separate systems; waited 2 months for an appointment; it just happened that one of the systems went down the day the tech came out. The tech told me that the system was old and needed to be replaced and did nothing with the water standing in the pan. He looked at the second system and did not even change the filter. Had someone else look at it and they repaired the system that went down and told me that there was a disconnected line and some sludge, took care of it and it is working fine. The tech told me that the second system needed a new filter, which he replaced. The total price was $ 86.00. read more

The worst communication I've ever experienced with a company. Far too many people in the communication chain resulted in an incredibly frustrating and mismanaged experience. Information was varied and inconsistent: - They repeatedly called the wrong person even though I specified I was the contact person. - several phone calls asking for delivery date of my part order were never returned. - my parts order was canceled because they, once again, called the wrong person to confirm the order instead of calling me. - I waited over 3 hours for the repair tech to show up while they kept insisting he'd be there "very soon" - Repair guy didn't have the required tool to do the job so we had to schedule another repair tech. Never again. read more

We had a slow drain. We called Horizon. Now I recommend these guys because: A: They were exactly on time (9:30 estimate) arrival time was actually 9:15. B: Serviceman was clean, polite, and knowledgeable. C: Job was completed in a reasonable timeframe and within a reasonanle price. read more

This company is. A joke ! They do not care about their customers. We had a company for nearly 8 years and they merged with Horizon about 1.5 years ago. We have a service contract and last year we upped with Horizon and they came out to service it for it's yearly cleaning . We called this summer to get it scheduled. The earliest would be December 3 . I was not happy but ok it was in the calendar . The day came and they never confirmed the appointment, so I called and they said it was scheduled 2 to 6pm. I get a call at 3:30 telling me they are not coming. They said they I'd not service my brand of furnace. I advised they did the previous year and the previous 6 years with the other company. They said sorry but we will not. I said refund my contract in full as this is ridiculous. What a joke ! read more

I had a kitchen drain plugged and Horizon was the only service that could arrive before I had to leave town. They gave me the usual 4 hour window for someone to arrive. John arrived sooner than I expected and was friendly & knowledgeable about the house's old plumbing. He was quick, thorough, and clean. Problem solved for the price quoted. No push to do other work. No hard sale for additional products or services. One happy customer. read more

ZERO STARS!! I called for an appointment to have my heater and a/c unit serviced in July 2020. The earliest appointment they had was for September 16, 2020. There was a flyer sent in the mail to have both systems done at a discounted price, so I acted on it. On the day prior to my appointment, Horizon called and cancelled my appointment because they didn't have a tech available. I waited two months for this day, and now they can't hold up their end of the deal. I think that they scam people with a fake discount to get them to be a client. Of course, when I called back to speak with a supervisor, no one is available to speak to me. I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! Go with a small local company! read more

I'll start this off by stating that the technician who came out was great. This is more so a negative review on the company as a whole versus their staff. We had a sewer line backup and called Horizon to come out to fix it and determine what the cause was. They came out within a couple hours, snaked the outside pipe and used a camera scope to take a look at what was going on. This part of the service was fine - fast service and normal/ reasonably priced. However, they told us our sewer pipe was in terrible shape and needed to be replaced right away. They quoted us an insane amount of money, in the 5 figure range. We had a different company come out to give a quote, and 2 different men from that company said the same thing: 1. Our pipe did not need to be replaced right now, it should have a few more years on it at least. And 2. Their quote to replace it, if ever needed, was a third of the price. After talking with neighbors and friends it seems this is very common practice for Horizon. They push the sale and at a very expensive price tag. read more

My heater was not working Horizon came out I informed them my parts are under warranty the tech told me they would give me 25 percent off parts and wanted to charge me almost 1000 dollars for labor. Loved that I could track where the technician was and when he would arrive. He arrived when he said he would. He came in with his shoes covered and a mask to protect me from Covid-19. FRAUD ALERT. I purchased a maintenance contract. On the day they were supposed to come, they called out sick. When I called to reschedule they told me the soonest they can maintenance my air condition was in 8 months. This is AFTER summer and winter and into next year. This company thinks it is entitled to your business. They are snobs, and so full of themselves when you call they literally laugh on the phone. When you ask for a supervisor they purposefully make you wait so long you have to hang up. I HATE Horizon. Call anywhere else. Anywhere. Even a union apprentice will do a better job. They are like the mafia's version of HVAC companies. read more

After years of our lower toilet backing up and destroying our powder room and numerous attempts at cleaning the line, I had Horizon Services come out and take a crack at it. The next day after cleaning out the line they showed up and ran a TV camera through it. What a nightmare of twisted roots from the old oak tree that I had just removed that month. The guy almost lost his camera it was so thick. He recommended that we re-line the pipe or we would be doing a clean-out every few months. Given my past history, and the fact that the last backup cost me several grand to fix, I agreed to the $8500 charge. I checked with my Union pipe-fitter neighbor, who told me that a) Horizon was very very good (but expensive) and that b) he agreed with their assessment. THE NEXT DAY Horizon mobilized all this hi-tech equipment and knocked it out in about 8 hours. The guys were great, and all I had was about a four-foot trench. AFter they were done, you'd never know they were there. In fact, my neighbor came over that evening and asked me why they hadn't shown up!!! He was amazed. Even the lawn was untouched (they laid down sheets of plywood for the backhoe). Got a 20-year transferrable warranty, 3 years no interest, and peace of mind. A year later, no issues. Yes, it was expensive, but you pay for professionalism and convenience. Had I had this done before my backup, I would have saved thousands of dollars in bathroom remodeling to fix the damaged flooring and drywall. It's all relative. Highly recommended. read more

Buyer Beware - Horizon will promise you a new system installed in one day! What they won't tell you is that the parts they install will break and need constant repairs, and they will not be in any rush to honor their warranty. We purchased a new system with endless reassurances from our salesman that the system was top notch. Since installation in May 2019, we have had several part failures resulting in being without functioning AC for days and even weeks at a time. This is unacceptable for a brand new system. Not only have there been part failures, but when Horizon sent a tech to make a recent repair, he ended up breaking a different part, apparently did not notice this damage and after about 8 hours in our home he could not resolve the issue and promised to contact us "once a plan has been formulated." We waited 4 weeks with no contact before calling Horizon to follow up on the status of this plan. When we called there was no update available, despite the amount of time that had passed. After calling for 4 days in a row, Horizon agreed to send another technician. This technician came and immediately found the broken part from the previous technician. He was apologetic and seemed to be very knowledgeable. A week later he returned to replace the broken part, and then discovered that yet another part had failed or was always bad - the coil was leaking refrigerant. He attempted to get the parts to replace the coil but told us that he needed a manger's approval to do so, and that he would return either the next day or in 2 days to complete the part replacement. After no word from Horizon, I called to follow up (Thursday 10/14) and was told the coil itself was available but the sheet metal required for the repair was still awaiting a manager's approval. Why these parts need separate approval if the coil cannot be installed without the sheet metal is beyond me. I was told this manager was in training and that a message would be left for him to contact me with an update. Today is Monday 10/18, I called to follow up yet again and was told that the part was still awaiting the manager's approval and that he was in training. At this point we have not had a functioning HVAC system for nearly 6 weeks. Temperatures were in the 80's last week and this week the lows are getting into the 40's and we have neither AC nor heat because our system was disabled by the tech. We understand that this is warranty work and therefore is not profitable for Horizon, which results in our issues being the lowest priority. This kind of disregard for repairing their own faulty parts and fixing the mistakes of their incompetent technician is why I will never recommend another person to Horizon after this experience. Every time I call Horizon to beg someone to tell me what is going on with the needed repairs on a 2 year old system, I have to sit on hold and listen to a voice enthusiastically tell me to "Sign for your new heating and cooling system today and we'll install that system tomorrow or it's free - really!", yet I am waiting for approval for the same parts that would be used in a new system for weeks and weeks. Every time I call, I am routed to dispatch, 4/5 times that call is dropped and I have to call back. Dispatch does not have the answers I am looking for and the last person I spoke to in dispatch told me "10/10 times the manager does not respond to my emails" when she tries to contact him about a customer calling about parts. I am left with no recourse other than to continue to wait for my 2 year old system, for which we paid thousands and thousands of dollars, to be repaired for the 5th time. I have been promised calls back by every person I've spoken to at Horizon and have never gotten one. So before someone from Horizon comments on this review, please know that I have submitted this exact feedback to Horizon directly, both verbally over the course of the last 6 weeks, and written in response to a survey sent to me by the operations manger. Needless to say, I could not be more disappointed with the parts and service at Horizon. read more

Buyer beware!! During an annual furnace tune-up, the Horizon technician expressed concern that the CO AF reading was 91 ppm. He showed me that there was some carbon deposit on the igniter, some rust corrosion on the burners, and based on smell he thought the gas valve may have a slight leak. The technician recommended all three be replaced and quoted me a price of $2,431 for the repairs. This seemed outrageous, therefore, I hired another reputable HVAC firm for a second opinion. The technician from the other firm stated that carbon deposits on the igniter is normal, the igniter is in good condition (no cracks or unusual wear), working fine, and does not need to be replaced. The second technician also tested the gas valve and did not find any leaks. Regarding the CO AF reading, the technician from the other firm got a reading of 131 ppm, he tested and confirmed there was nothing wrong with the heat exchanger, therefore, he concluded the corrosion on the burners was probably causing the high CO AF reading. Replacing the burners successfully brought the CO AF reading down to 36 ppm. The cost for all the work performed by the other HVAC firm was only $540. read more

Capacitor Scam! Wow! So the first time I had horizon out for a clogged drain I had an amazing experience! The tech was great! Super knowledgeable and cleared my drain for the $99 fee they advertise. They came out same day and for hundreds less then the competition, plus everyone else said it would be 2-3 days before they could come out for service. I was so happy I tipped the tech $50 as he deserved it doing such a dirty job and for coming out almost immediately. 6 weeks goes by and I get a coupon for a $59 AC tune up plus a $29 heater tune up in the fall. Honestly you can't beat this kind of a deal and later you might guess why. The tech came out and again was great and quite knowledgeable. This is where things get interesting. The tech indicated that the capacitor on my unit was getting old and not holding all the charge it should. He told me he could work up a price for replacement and then went outside to finish his paperwork and prepare a quote. While he was doing this I went into the attic and popped the 4 screws off the cover, took a picture of the capacitor and had a replacement price off of Amazon within 5 min. When he came back in he quoted me $307 to replace. Guess what the cost of the capacitor was on Amazon? $12.95 (with tax and free shipping). The capacitor has two leads that are CAREFULLY unclipped and then re clipped onto the new one. 4 screws to put the cover back on and voila! Done in 5-10 min for $13. I politely declined the replacement and installed the new one myself when it arrived two days later. Be wary of these low cost "tune ups", they are an inexpensive way to get a problem diagnosed so that you or others, (not horizon), can repair for a fraction of the cost. I was ready to have the work done if the cost was $50 or less, I knew the cost of the part and I was willing to have a professional do the installation as no one wants to get hit with 370 volts but when he came at me with a $307 quote I had to hold back from laughing out loud. Granted I am a handy person and many may not feel comfortable doing this work, I dare to think how many people have been scammed this way or for another astronomical repair quote for a quick easy fix. Below is a picture of my new $13 capacitor. Be wary but feel free to use them for a cheap diagnoses if your having issues. read more

Horizon Services - Plumbing Near Me - Audubon, Pennsylvania

To expensive and never resolved the issue. Called Worcester Heating & Air Conditioning and problema resolved!

Horizon deserves a great review. They recently installed a heat pump for us and the experience was very positive for several reasons. 1. they responded promptly 2. they presented all the alternatives without pushing for a new unit 3. they were courteous and neat for the installation 4. they followed up the installation with a "make sure it works" visit 5. they provided the guarantee rather than the manufacturer of the unit We highly endorse Horizon Services! read more

We contacted Horizon to help us with a split pipe under our kitchen sink. they were prompt and professional. the snag was when they gave us the invoice. There was no real detail on it. apparently they quote on the job and so there is no detail. That is a problem for my insurance company. In order for them to consider my claim they wanted a detailed listing of the work done so that they could consider how much would be covered. after numerous attempts to get that invoice, I was finally told by one of their customer services reps that Horizon does not quote that way and would not provide that type of invoice. Unfortunate since I liked their service and work, I will not use them in the future. read more

I was very pleased with the quality of the entire service, from scheduling the appointment, to the 30 minute notice call that I received from the very professional technician, George Perez. He efficiently performed my heater tuneup, discussed his findings and recommendations, cleaned up the work area, and was exemplary in every way. More than that, he was personable and outgoing, which enhances the customer service experience. I had a similar experience with a different technician who performed my air conditioning tuneup in the spring. My only recommendation is for Horizon to call a day or two before the scheduled appointment in order to confirm. That always eases the customer's mind about whether someone will show up as scheduled, though Horizon did not disappoint in that regard. I will definitely be using Horizon for the various services they perform. read more

I called Horizon services because my toliet needs repair and I am having guests tomorrow. I spoke to Will in dispatch and answered his questions. He gave me an appointment between 10 pm and 2 am tonight. 45 minutes later the technician called and said he didn't know why I was given hat appointment. If the job could be switched to non emergency he could be out immediately or at the latest first thing Sunday morning before my guests arrived. The tech said he would talk to the dispatcher. Will called me back and said since I was able to turn on the water in my home the first available appointment would be Monday. I told him he gave me an appointment he was unwilling to honor and the tech gave me 2 different appointments that would not be honored. He dispatcher kept saying how I presented my information when we spoke. He asked me questions and I answered. This company does not stand behind what is told to the customer as advertised. Very Expensive. Compressor unit (fan outside) was not running. I called and they dispatched out, i had dirty coils. Tech cleaned unit and it seemed to work. A few hours later, compressor was not working and had shut off. Called horizon again, a new tech came out. Told me i needed the motor and capactitor unit replaced. The total was about 1400.00. Plus they wanted another 300 for a leak search. I looked the parts up online (repair clinic) Motor was 115.00 and capacitor was 15.00. Like several other reviewers here have stated, I would give horizon negative stars if possible. I have never written a yelp review before, but my experience was so abhorrent it warranted it. Be very aware, everything presented to you is a facade. They are incompetent across all levels of the business, despite all the bells and whistles like responsive customer service and tracking on their techs. Just the fact that a question on their customer service survey is "how would you rate the appearance of your technician?" Should be a red flag. Now to the specifics about my experience. I called horizon because I needed a wax seal replacement on my rear discharge toilet. I knew they would be expensive, but I was unprepared for the sticker shock. They charged me $850 for an hour of labor and $10 worth of hardware. Still waiting on an explanation of how that is justified. First plumber I'm told has ten years with the company. Left the toilet not returned to its original position pressed up against the wall and incredibly crooked. Clearly took zero pride in his work. When the smell of sewer gas persisted, I called back a second plumber. He straightened the toilet out, but again said the toilet was all the way back on on, which it wasn't. Third plumber called his manager and told him not to pull and reseat the toilet. He just applied 3/8" of caulk around part of it. He came back a second time and caulked around the whole toilet. I even showed him another toilet as a reference to what it should look like when returned to its original position and suggested maybe trying something other than a traditional wax seal. In one ear and out the other (a recurring theme here). Needless to say the problem has improved but is still not 100% fixed. In the future, I'll just bite the bullet and call a real plumber to straighten it out. That's part one. In the midst of all this, the plumbers cracked four tiles on the bathroom floor. So horizon sent out their contractor. Three visits to diagnose, replace, and grout. After the grouting, he left the bathroom a mess with a film of grout on the floor and grout stains all over my toilet and molding. Upon closer inspection, one of the tiles was not installed flat and he cracked another one while doing the grout work. So I begrudgingly called horizon explaining I need more stuff fixed that they broke, and couldn't help getting the impression she was not even listening to me. I even requested a different contractor. So I when the "new" contractor showed up, he was not a contractor at all. They sent a plumber! And he was like sorry, can't help you. Ninth visit: contractor replaces two tiles but chips all the edges of the adjacent tiles putting in the new ones and I also noticed one of the other previously replaced tiles was not flat as well. But at least he brought his level this time! At this point, I officially give up. This is your warning. If you want substandard, shoddy work and your bathroom left in worse condition than it was prior to "repairs" for an insanely premium price, then horizon is for you. read more

My old furnace went so I called Horizon to get a new one installed. I was promised a one day install and everything would be completely done. This was supposed to be done on 12/2/2019. When the crew was finishing up, one of the workers informed me that they did not have the correct collar to go around the new chimney they had to install through my metal roof (there was not one previous to this. Whoever installed the one when I bought the home had it vented into and out of the stone chimney on the house) so they would need to come back another day when the correct one came in. Annoying because they knew I had a metal roof when they gave me the estimate but things happen. Fast forward to Christmas Eve of the same year, and they finally finished installing the unit. After multiple excuses, someone finally showed up on 12/23/19 to install the correct collar for the chimney. However, my family and I woke up to a 50 degree house on Christmas Eve morning because they did not turn the gas back on on the unit so it would blow heat. Ever since they installed the new chimney, I have had water issues and people out here multiple times to look at it. As I write this review 3 years later, the person who the was supposed to come to look at the issue showed up an hour and a half passed the appointment window. They did not call, email, or text to let me know they'd be late and customer service gave me attitude when I called to see if they were still coming. To sum it up, they told me it would be installed in 1 day and it took 22. I have had a roof leak ever since. All they have done is put what looks to be roofing tar and spray foam around the area and just told me to "call again if it keeps happening". We have a second unit for our downstairs and we used a company called MoreVent for that. They were night and day different, did what they said they would, were on time and did not lie to me, and were over $4000 cheaper. Save your time and money and stay away from Horizon Services. For all of this aggravation, they offered me $500 back off of a $16,000 unit and one leaky roof. read more

I have used Horizon Services for my AC and Heater repairs. They did the job and at a fair cost. My wife wanted to replace our Stainless Steel kitchen sink with a cast iron enamel unit with a new facet. I purchased all of the parts required, sink, strainer, sealant, etc as I was going to do it myself. However, my wife wanted Horizon to do the work. I set up an appointment for Tuesday 18-July. They told me they will come between 4 and 8; this is how they get over on the "on time" promises. "Dom" came to do the work for us. He looked at the sink and other items. I know when he looked at the cast sink, I was in trouble. He checked out the existing sink and started to tell me how high the cost would be, and he does not make the pricing. He also said he quoted a replacement hot water heater across the street and when he gave the price he felt the customer was going to have a heart attack. He gave me a quote to install the sink with not parts of -----$682.00. I almost fell over. I thanked him for his time and showed him the door. Not sure what has happened to Horizon, but it's not good. I have other plumbing and heating needs that I was going to have them look at, but now no way. Is this the way Horizon is now or just this employee who did not want to lift a cast iron sink at 6:30pm? Very disappointed !!!! Had out twice: first for service check on old HVAC units in new home and then again to price for replacement units. Extremely high pressure sales and much lower price available at several other installers (33% difference for exact same brand and models). Also sold a service agreement on old unit with promise to refund prorated amount if I found a better price from a different vendor (which I did) and then refused to refund the prorated service contract fee after my new units were installed. Bottom line: very high priced, pressured sales, and make promises they do not keep. read more
