Customer service is an absolute nightmare. The technicians, once you're able to get them to your house, are ok. The office is impossible to get in touch with. You will always get the call center (they'll say "Culligan of Norristown and West Berlin"), leave a message (or 3) and will never hear back from the main office. It got so bad that I actually drove 40 minutes to their office in Norristown to talk to them in person. The desk clerk told me they haven't been getting any messages from the call center (not sure why this didn't trigger some additional questions on their part). They couldn't locate my softener tank that they had removed to replace the resin. The scheduler at the desk was absolutely clueless and unable to answer any of my questions. He gave me the manager's contact info - another dead end, no call back. I finally got on the schedule to have my tank reinstalled. After about 8 weeks of back and forth the problem is finally fixed. But rest assured I will never again deal with this place. I'd rather have their system replaced by someone else's and pay more $$ than deal with such incompetence. My advice - if you live in the outskirts of Philadelphia, consider calling Culligan or Allentown to see if maybe they'll service your home! read more

We've been Culligan Norristown customers for 20 years, having purchased a water softening system & subsequently having scheduled service visits & salt deliveries on an annual basis. No problems until this year, when I still have not received a call back for a service visit despite reaching out 5 times - by phone (messages taken by a service), website & email. The email bounced back and I'm now wondering if they've gone out of business. I guess it's time to seek an alternative. read more

We have a reverse osmosis double carbon tank system at P.O.E. We had the carbon tanks replaced & their tank leaked carbon throughout the entire house & caused a new faucet to leak. This happened on Nov. 21st & it was called in immediately; after having our plumber come out to repair & replace the new faucet he showed us the rock stuck in the faucet mechanism & all the carbon leaked residual carbon throughout all our pipes & they should have bleed the hot water heater; & cleared all the faucet screens & replaces the broken tanks but here it's 2 months now we've been without any carbon tanks & they just keep making excuses; no return phone calls & the appointment they finally had scheduled was cancelled last minute after the time frame between 10-2pm & called at 2:30 saying they didn't know what happened to the tanks; then a second man sent email saying the repairman was out sick & he had the tanks on his truck but they said they'd send new ones out & that was 2 weeks ago. I told my mother to drop them & call a better company that wouldn't do this to their existing customers because they wouldn't do this for a new installation or replacement filter order. This has been an absolute nightmare & nobody is responding just making more excuses to keep dodging their faulty tanks & now I'm going to contact BBB & ask for full refund to call another company that will honor their faulty parts. To make matters worse they sent a bill of $500 for absolutely nothing. They had one repair technician come out to cut the tanks out & they left them behind & they have nothing but incompetent workers that call out sick, don't show up & don't follow supervisor orders & can't do the job. Save your money & time & call a better company that will honor their faulty parts & not cost you hundreds in repairs. This is still not resolved & everyday we call & nobody returns any of our calls & this is not a company I'll ever recommend because they don't care & just send you bills for no reason & give excuses & point the finger to someone else. However for the last 3 weeks I have tried to schedule my yearly service and all calls go to an answering service during business hours and I am told repeatedly that my message was forwarded and they do not know why I never get a reply. I also sent an online request with no response. Could the Norristown, Pa branch be closed? read more

What business does not answer calls during normal business hours and does not return calls within 4 business days with even so much as a "we got your call and are working on it". Poor customer service. They defer everything to a call service. read more

My experience has always been the opposite of that other review. My calls are always returned their services always on prime their product is great and I only ever have them out once a year for maintenance. I don't understand why someone would have all those bad things to say about them I have no clue. read more

wow is all i have to say.. 4 calls to this place no call backs .. finally i got the billing company and the person was so so sweet helpful and tried to transfer me to the main office in norristown pa the call was disconnected we are in need of salt and getting a person has been impossible yet we got a bill for 2 years 2025 and 2026 with absolutely no services since early 2024. don't waste your time. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! IF I COULD, I would rate this company -5! Terrible products, very poor service, expensive with very poor value, nasty answering service, and they never, EVER return calls. From the day it was installed the hardness of the water or pH was never correct. I usually do not write reviews, but I need to warn other customers. I have had the system for five years and I have been forced to totally replace it. I had the "most up to date system...," when it was installed. After the first few months, I never saw anyone but a young kid who delivered their product and disappeared...and the deliveries were nearly monthly, when it supposed to be every 6 months. Our experience with this company has been horrendous. After patiently working with them for months despite poor communication and constantly changing staff and delivery schedules, we finally canceled our water delivery service several months ago because the scheduling and delivery had become utterly unreliable (e.g. they didn't come on days they said they would but would come unannounced several days later). Culligan still owes us a small balance for bottle deposits. Not only have they not paid us what we are owed, but they also continue calling and invoicing us for money we do not owe them ($32). Today alone we received calls from 3 different people, the last of which was highly inappropriate, unprofessional, and meant to be threatening. We will NEVER use Culligan again for anything and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Had an appointment where I was told they would be there between 12-4. 4:15 comes and no service tech. I call the office and they get ahold of tech, tech tells office 5:00. 5:00 comes, no tech. Tech finally call me at 6:10 to tell me he is and my house. Sorry buddy but I had to leave for my daughter's basketball game at 6. Long story short, tech is 2 hours late and I have to wait another week. Poor customer service and even poorer communication. read more

Worse than 1 Star. Rude, Belligerent, Indignant, and act with total impunity. multiple times they did not deliver, and I found my office without water. This time when I called after finding my water supply completely empty, I was told they would have water delivered that very day, and no, I did not need to cancel my account. The next day when I was still without water, the very same person took exception because she had "yelled at the driver" as if this solves my problem. She also, very sarcastically, informed me of the snow storm we had just had, to which I replied had they delivered on the day my delivery was due, 10 days prior, the snow storm would not have impacted their ability to deliver my water, or customer service. The golden lining is that in doing research to switch providers I found out I am significantly over paying, imagine, paying nearly double to be treated horribly. Check out Crystal Springs, $1.25 less per 5 Gallon Bottle, and the bottom loading dispenser is $6.71 / month less ($12.70 / month with Culligan and $5.99 / month with Crystal Springs. Even if you have not had a problem, check out Crystal Springs, you will save a lot of money, and the service could not possibly be worse. read more

I have been using this company for years and hoped for better treatment. Fortunately, there are plenty of other companies willing to provide better customer service. I scheduled a salt delivery four weeks ago and was given a two hour window for the delivery. I confirmed the appointment in the morning and waited at home...and waited and waited. Three hours later I called again and was told the the delivery would take 1.5-2 hours more. I was offered to reschedule free of charge but who has another day to wait at home for salt. Called another company and got a new delivery date with a guaranteed two hour window. We will see what happens. But Sharp Water? Never again. Can't trust their promises. read more
