do not use this over priced awful company! i had a heat issue & their guy came out & told me the corbon monoxide was at beyond dangerous levels. i have worked in the industry & i asked the repair guy to show me where he got his reading from. he put a carbon monoxide meter in the exhaust system & said these are dangerous levels. i said are you sure. he said absolutely. i said take your meter out of the exhaust system & he was shocked that i knew wtf he was doing. any exhaust gives off carbon monoxide. i said gtfo out of my house. never ever again! worst place ever!! read more

I have a gas leak in my basement. The pipe leading to my furnace also branches of to my stove. Horizon would not repair the pipe and would not help me in any way to restore heat to my home in freezing temperatures. This person was looking for a way out of a difficult job. My gas was turned off after Peco found the leak and my family will be sleeping cold tonight. Thanks Horizon. Edit: One more thing, the first word on the truck is "plumbing" they are in no way close to being plumbers. This company preys on people in bad situations. read more

I will keep this short and sweet. If you want to pay DOUBLE the cost for a service, then use Horizon. We had 3 estimates done on a new A/C unit with a new heater installed. The first two were in the range of 7-8 thousand dollars. The other was $18,000. Same service. Can you guess which one was Horizon?? Bingo, $18,000! When we spoke about it he told me the price can be worked on a little bit if I was interested. No thanks. Not dealing with a company that gives me an inflated rate, over 100% higher than the other 2 estimates, then tells me they can come down some. And on a side note, when they were looking at my heater in the basement, they said I may want to consider getting a new hot water heater with them too. I said mine was only 2 years old so why would I need a new one? The install date was even on it. He said new technology keeps coming out, so it can't hurt to have a new one. Really?? So if I have a 2014 car, I should buy a 2015 when it comes out just because it may have one new feature?? PASS. read more

If possible, this company has made a bad "walk away experience" even worse. Received a strange fb message wanting more info, then on 9/4, received letter from CR manager in Delaware. I was intrigued by opening sentence referring to "my conversation" with Horizon. Never had a conversation. Had given up on ever hearing from this company. Called number provided, was informed "not sure where he is" Answering employee told me I must me wrong, they did call me. REALLY? try this- customer service 101: "What can we do to make this right" read more

The diagnostician did a thorough job. However, their salesman tried to rip me off. For HVAC replacement for our 1000 sq ft condo, he quoted $12,000-14,000!! And that was with 3-year only warranty. The sales guy wasn't very helpful with explanation, his manner was brusque, and he did not produce any paperwork. He came completely unprepared. I had two other companies come out to diagnose and to give me estimates. Their estimates were $6000 and $5600 each, and with 6-years and 10-years warranty, labor and parts. I ended up going with Davis's Modern, who was wonderful. Horizon is a rip-off. read more

Outrageous prices! Sure they were able to come out the same day, but if you don't have an emergency, there are many quality options at far lower prices. Since I didn't have their service, I can't rate that aspect. Here's what they estimated... 1) Replace the Pressure Reducing Valve - Quote: $294 labor, $233 parts - Did it myself: 15 minutes labor, 15 minutes on YouTube, $50 for parts at Home Depot 2) Install a hose bib inside house for connecting Reverse Osmosis system - Quote: $294 parts and labor combined - Did it myself: 30 minutes labor, $30 for parts at Home Depot I knew I was in for trouble when, in order to get an estimate, the service guy broke out a 4" binder of pretty pre-determined estimates. Took him longer to evaluate the work and give me an estimate than for me to do all of the work myself. I called Horizon because I was off from work and was willing to pay to have someone do the work, just so I could get it completed. I had been putting it off for too long. Once I saw the prices, I was instantly motivated and finished it that day. So in summary, they may provide quick and great service, but you better be ready to pay what I believe to be far above standard rate. read more

My coworker recommend a annual tune up for my AC. Horizon has a special promotion buy one get one for 89.95$ on the service. and it stated a 21 point tune up. I was expecting some sort tune up. after service, i regretted to do tune up with Horizon. The technician ran a couple test on the unit. Find two problems. That is it. It seemed to me. it is not a tune up. it is like check on your unit and hopefully find some problem and ask you to fix the problem. There is no refringent refill no change filter. Totally did not worth 89.95 from my point of view. I will not recommend Horizon Service. My another co worker had horizon service as well. end up. The technician somehow smoke compressor's wire. Will not repair the damage by saying the unit was old. hey. You broke my unit. superbly you need to fixed it as well -- read more

Horizon replaced my heat pump & compressor 11 years ago. I paid a contract fee each year and received an annual checkup. The serviceman would turn up the heat and switch to cool. They replaced the filter; no problems. This year was the 11th year and the technician went downstairs and within minutes he told me I needed $4,000 worth of repairs. In addition to a UV light, he stated I had black mold due to moisture in the unit and the cooper pipes were starting to "rust". Since it was such an expensive repair, he strongly recommended I upgrade and replace the unit. While I sat stunned, he called the office and they wanted to set up a meeting with a salesman that afternoon or the next day. I reluctantly agreed to an appointment the following afternoon. After the technician left, I got annoyed. Why wasn't something found in the 10 years the unit was under warranty? Why did it only come up in the 11th year? Why did my last unit last over 20 years? I went into the community forum and received message after message that Horizon is sales oriented. People claiming Verizon recommended a $12,000 unit and it was fixed for less than $400 and three years later is still running beautifully. A local HVAC man from a different company came two days later. He was able to clean the mold with a lemon scented bleach. He told me copper doesn't "rust", the corrosion was on the surface only and it too cleaned up beautifully. Very disappointed in Horizon and will never call them again. read more

Had an annual contract with Horizon and had two fine regularly scheduled service calls. One night my AC clearly had a problem as house reached 83 degrees overnight. Called on a Friday morning and was told earliest a tech could arrive was Tuesday. I indicated this was unacceptable as it was expected to hit 95 degrees that day and the weekend called for more of the same. Told them it was an emergency and that I would take the Tuesday appointment for now with the caveat that if I found someone else to service my unit before hand they would lose my ongoing annual contract business. Well called Meade Appliance who came out to my home that afternoon and resolved the problem that day. What a blessing. Could not believe I was treated this way particularly given that I paid an annual contract that I presumed would give me priority service for emergency repair calls. read more

Terrible technicians. Just tried to sell me a new a/c for 5k so I called another company who fixed it for $369. Very dishonest!!!!

Called to replace a toilet since they are a big company, thought it would be less hassles. They will not give a quote online, will come take a look for $89 plus $25 to give the quote. Came home and gave a quote for $750 to replace a customer provided toilet. One year back I had done the same for $250. I declined and called someone else to install it the same day for $300. read more

Final update... Horizon has made good on their promise to remedy the situation. My mother is very pleased with the outcome. Although the experience was rocky at first, Horizon is a stand-up company that will ensure customer satisfaction. We're thankful to Horizon for the positive outcome! Update... Horizon has been in contact with my Mother and has pledged to remedy the situation. I applaud their attention once the issue was escalated. We are now waiting to be sure they deliver on their promises. Do not use Horizon! My Mother contracted Horizon to fix a leak in her bathroom. They told her it was the toilet and charged her $800 to replace the toilet. A few days later the leak continued. My Mother called Horizon again and this time the told her it was the soil pipe in her first floor wall. They replaced the PVC piping with Fernco couplings but placed the clamps on the outside. Then they tell her they can't close the wall and will need to "bump it out". The cost to replace the line was $2,500. So now my Mom is in for over $3k and has a wide open wall and a huge amount of stress and anxiety. I feel Horizon has taken advantage of my 73 year old Mother. And now they tell her the can't come out for a week. Unacceptable service and terrible craftsmanship. My Mom has now hired a private contractor to repair Horizon's mistakes. Don't believe their commercial hype!!! They are poor quality and poor service hacks! read more

Horizon Services - Nice job Horizon.... NOT! - Plumbing Near Me - Audubon, Pennsylvania

I think the rock singer, Meatloaf, owns this company. Do you remember his song, I would do anything for love but I won't do that? Well, when I read the website for this company it gives the impression that will do any kind of plumbing however routine that you require. Paste from Horizon website below: From routine repairs and maintenance...to emergency service...to expert equipment installation and replacement, Horizon Services is ready to meet all of your needs and surpass all of your expectations When I told them I needed a new hot water heater because mine was leaking and that I had a new hot water heater in my garage that I needed to install, the rep said , no we can't use that you need to use the new one we supply. ( paraphrase) I asked, OK, well how much for the new heater and installation that you supply? She said we need to send somebody out to evaluate the situation and then give you a price. Really? Replacing an electric hot heater is kind of basic. I smelled a sales pitch and besides my basement is filling up with water! Other people seem to like them but I didn't get a good feeling. read more

We had an air conditioning system that hasn't worked for 3 years. I called horizon on a Thursday and made a Friday appointment. The tech (francis) arrived in the scheduled time window. He wore protective covers over his shoes while in the house. He quickly found and fixed the problem and explained everything. He offered advice on using the system and was very friendly. The price was much less than I expected. We are very happy after 2 bad experiences with 2 other companies over the last 3 years. Thanks francis! read more

Horizon Services - A record of service is now right on the unit. Good place to keep invoices for service too. - Plumbing Near Me - Audubon, Pennsylvania

This company seriously overcharged my wife for a home air conditioner installation. - I'm talking $10,000 for something that should have cost $5,000. Subsequent heater/AC companies told me they only did about 1/2 of the work that they should have. Don't walk away from Horizon services ; Run away fast! Horizon Services is a horrible and dishonest company. read more

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. I had someone from Horizon come out on Wednesday to do a yearly inspection on my AC unit, because I got a coupon in the mail. It was working fine until he arrived. The guy came out and told me it was a good thing I had them come because my unit was shot and I shouldn't be running it and if I did my compressor was likely to blow. They set up an appointment for someone to come out and give me a quote on a new one. In the mean time I called my home warranty company to let them know because they will pay toward a new one if it cant be fixed. They sent out a person for a second option today. The new repair person called me over to tell me that two cords have been unplugged to make it look like it would no longer run. As mentioned above my AC was working fine until Horizon came, they came and told me not to run it because it was shot and would blow my compressor. But in reality he really only unplugged to cords to the fan in my basement to show me how it "really wasn't cooling my house". To top is off the Horizon guy tried to sell my $600 worth of refrigerant as a quick temporary fix, which i declined thinking I had to buy a new unit. But today the new repair person told me Horizon had over filled it as it was and in no way should they have tried to sell me more. It really makes you wonder who you can trust..... read more

I would have to agree with Max S. I called Horizon for a couple of things in my home. All our neighbors were replacing their hot water heaters, so when I looked at ours, there was the appearance of wet concrete, like water had leaked out. But there was no visible water. We all built our houses at the same time, so I knew we should have ours checked. Also one of our exterior hose spigots was leaking and our kitchen faucet was leaking. For those three items, we were charges $4800. and change. What!!!??? I almost had a heart attack when I heard the price. They charged us over $700 to replace a Moen faucet with the hand held sprayer in the head.... yeah. $700 for the faucet and installation. Insane. That just gives you one example. To top it all off, the work was done on a Friday afternoon. On Saturday I was in the kitchen and almost did a header into the counter, when I slipped on a puddle of water....yup I mean yelp, you guessed it. The brand new faucet was leaking. When we called Horizon to get someone out to our house, they said...."well we can't get anyone out there right now, but how about Tuesday?" Hhahahahahah! Ok, we can let the water pool up in the cabinet sure take your time. My boyfriend said, you have to be kidding me, that is unacceptable. You over charged us for the job and now you won't stand behind your work? then it's Hold Please...Oh ok, now they're going to send someone right out. They sent the same guy who did the work and he had a bit of an attitude when he arrived, saying it could not have been his work that was making this leak. Well it was. He ate some crow and left. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE THIS COMPANY. ON PRICE ALONE, THEY WERE RIDICULOUS. BUT THE QUALITY OF THE WORK COMPLETED, AS WELL AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. BAD! read more

My experience with Horizon First time was great. There was water by my heater filter, I asked around at work and one person recommended Horizon. I called them, they confirmed my suspicion as to what the problem was, he flushed the drain hose no problem. Next experience. I had water dripping onto my neighbor's ceiling downstairs. I once again called Horizon. GOT HOSED!! When I called them a couple times asking about their prices, I was told that when the tech got there he would tell me. Now with a company this big, you mean to tell me no one could give me a price over the phone. Well the tech gets here with his little price book, which I'm sure they have to print up at the office and proceeds to quote me prices for toilet installation with their toilet, with my supplied toilet and possibly changing the fixtures on my tank. First with the "discount" it was over $700 to replace a toilet with their toilet. Thank GOD I lugged mine up 3 flights of stairs from Home Depot because that saved me about $400 as the price to install my supplied toilet. While the tech was installing my toilet he couldn't use the shut off valve to the toilet tank so he turned off the main water supply and ran the taps to drain the water. He installed my toilet. I felt hosed, but I wanted the water problem solved. TWO weeks later my 6 year old heater stops working. I "google" the cause of this phenomena and the cause could be that if the element got dry by draining water from the heater it would "burn out" thus no more hot water or at least luke warm if it is the top element. I thought that Horizon touted "great customer service" on the radio and in their ads so I called. Right away they send a tech out. I take off from work and as expected his comments were that it could not possibly be them that caused the issue especially that its two weeks later. He called his boss who states that they won't replace my element or anything without me forking out additional money to cover the entire cost. I said no thanks and will be using someone else. MY advice to you is to not use them. I told the tech I won't be recommending them to anyone and quote my experience as to why I won't ever use them again. BE VERY AFRAID read more

I've used Horizon for 4 years now and never had even close to a bad experience. Their techs are consummate professionals, knowledgeable in their services and product lines. Today was the usual 5 star experience. Jose S. was my tech and he is a shining example of why I stay with Horizon. He is IMHO an HVAC expert. Additionally he is articulate, answers questions and puts himself in the customer's position when deciding on his response. I.E. He knows our concerns. He is a people person and a great asset to Horizon. I am a gold service plan member and today's visit was my Summer tuneup. He performed my service on my heat pump and noted issues of concern which I knew to be true before he arrived. My decision to proactively replace a connector before I got stuck with a down device in bad weather was not because he tried to sell or upsell me anything. It resulted from questioning him regarding the device's function and his knowledgeable, honest response. I also requested quotes for total replacement so I can ballpark the price of replacing the system when necessary. His knowledge of the various vendor's has given me what I need to do my homework ahead of time. He was also clean and respectful around my home. Besides Jose S and today's visit l I love Horizon because they answer the phone. None of this taking my number and me wondering when they will call back. I have peace of mind because of their services. read more

I had a great conversation with John, a sales person for Horizon. He shared with me the pros and cons to the HVAC system I currently have. My main focus was lowering our monthly bills. I am overly appreciated of not only his knowledge but honesty. RECOMMENDED!!!! read more

It was a typical heater inspection let's start there. I've been remittances the company for over 10 years and have 2 houses they look after. Horizon Services has a customer for life: Me. I worked with Chris Boyer after being referred to Horizon by a friend. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about the products he sells, will evaluate your current setup and see if there are any issues and will even crawl up in an attic with you so that he knows all there is to know about your heating/cooling system. Chris never made me feel like he was just trying to make a sale; Instead, he gave me all of the information I needed to make an educated decision, was very up front about pricing and reinforced the fact that Horizon is about service and its relationship with the customer. The installation of the new heating/cooling system (Lennox Elite) took one day. The install team comprised two gentlemen who arrived at the time they said they would (Horizon is always punctual). One of said gentlemen, Glen, was hands-down, the best person for the job; He was exceptionally professional, personable and communicative; He made sure that I was briefed on the install, discussed any issues with me and worked with me to find a proper solution for the actual layout/design of the installation. I could not be happier with the results. In addition, I also need to make mention about my experience with Dave (service engineer) who came out to do a tune up of our old heating/cooling system. Dave, like the others, surprised me by being on time to the minute. Also, he was very knowledgeable and was very clear with me about the condition of the existing system. He did not try to sell me on anything, but stated the facts about the system and what he would do if he were in the same situation. He also gave me a phenomenal coupon that Chris, unfortunately, did not know about until it was too late. So, here is to Dave who is, yet another, integral member of the Horizon team. Thanks to all whom I mentioned here and the others who were also involved. Keep up the fine and dedicated work. read more

If price doesn't matter, Horizon Service is the contractor for you. My wife called them for emergency repair of our HW heating system. Horizon arrived within 2 hours on a Sunday and quickly diagnosed the problem - failed circulating pump and bad bladder on the expansion tank. They provided an estimate of more than $2300.00 for the repairs. My wife notified me of the cost, which struck me as extremely excessive - I was out of town at the time. I spoke with the service tech and told him the same, and said he was taking advantage of a bad situation. I told him we would get another contractor. He called me back within 5 minutes and dropped the cost $500 - which I said was still excessive. It also means he was overcharging us $500.00. The next day I purchased the parts my self for less than $150.00 and had another plumber replace the parts for $400.00. Horizon Service is a classic rip-off! Buyer Beware! read more

I have to say overall I am a huge fan of Horizon Services, they come out very quickly and give a very detailed explanation of the issue and different ways for to be fixed. I was not happy that I had to replace my unit and the cost was a little more then I was comfortable with but I know the work was done correctly and the warranty and level of coverage that I have do help with some of that. All of the representatives: initial technician, sales rep, and install team where all great and very professional. There was no sales pressure and I feel I did make a good decision going with Horizons. Keep up the great work. read more

Effective. Punctual. Clean. Courteous. Respectful. Personable. I have nothing bad to say about Horizon. We've had our sewer line cleaned 6-7 times by multiple companies (Roto rooter, Zoom Pluming, etc.) Horizon is the only company with a predictable cost. Hoizon offers a coupon for $99 to clean a main sewer line with no hidden fees or shenanigans. Other companies charge 2-3 times this for the same service and no other company will tell you what the cost will be without coming out to perform an estimate. We'll definitely keep using Horizon for sewer line cleaning. read more

My heater stopped working during the snow storm. I called the HVAC person I always use but it was a Sunday and didn't expect to hear from him. A friend called Horizon for me and they arrived. They did very little to diagnose the problem and started their sales pitch for a new heater for $9,000. My HVAC person called me back that night and told me it was an outrageous price. Horizon came out again the next day with a sales rep to try to sell me again. My HVAC guy came out in the afternoon and fixed the issue for $460.00. I was speaking with some family and friends and they had the same experience with Horizon. It's a sales organization mentality not fix the problem for the customer company. read more

We have been pleased with the few occasions of HorizonServices completing repairs for us. First off, that company has people you can speak with at 6 a.m. And they really do answer. We had a plumbing emergency and they set up an appointment that day. That technician (Jason) was professional and expertly replaced a main shut off valve on 11/18/15. He also repaired the faucet which would not turn off. On 12/4/15, Mike R. came to adjust the bathtub faucet which was dripping. He was professional, knowledgeable, but down to earth in a way that made me comfortable. I would recommend Horizon Services based on the experiences my husband and I both had. read more

Terrible company that has a poor understanding of the systems they sell/install in people's homes. I purchased a new heating pump/HVAC system for my home on 4/28. After promising they are HVAC experts and have the best teams in the business, Horizon proceeded to do an absolutely terrible job installing the system THEY sold to ME. You would think a company like Horizon would have a great understanding of the systems they sell home owners. On the day of install, their team arrived at 7:30 AM and worked to install my system, "completing" the job around 5 PM. The employee showed me how to turn on the system and left. The system immediately started blowing hot air. I tried to turn the entire unit off, but it continued pumping hot air getting my house to 80 degrees (almost 10 degrees hotter than it was outside). I called the salesperson that sold me the system, and he told me someone would come back to check on this issue (that I was having on the brand new system they installed). One of the original installers arrived back around 6:30 PM and was clearly panicked and did not know what was going on, he had to call multiple other employees and was running into and out of my house for over an hour. He claimed to have fixed it and left saying someone would need to come back in the morning to replace a broken part (on my NEW system). No sooner does he leave does the hot air continue to blow. He told me I could turn off the system at the breaker and it would turn off, I did this but that didn't work. I had a heat pump constantly blowing hot air in to my home and couldn't get it to stop. My house got to 88 degrees before I figured out how to manually shut off the emergency heat that had been triggered by the faulty equipment Horizon installed. During that entire time, I could not get anyone from Horizon on the phone to help me other than a dispatcher that could only tell me a tech would get to my house at some point that night to check on my new system a third time (the tech eventually arrived at my house at 10:30 PM, over 15 hours after the job began at 7:30 AM. He was able to temporarily fix the issue but someone had to come back the next morning to finish installing a system Horizon is supposed to be experts on). These people installed a faulty piece of equipment that was malfunctioning in my home and left TWICE. If I hadn't called them multiple times that evening, they would have left my home in that condition overnight potentially causing a real disaster in my home. This was dangerous, period. I had to call again in the morning to make sure someone was coming to help as I didn't receive any follow up after the last tech left my house at 11 PM that night. I then had to request a manager call me to review what in the world went wrong and why Horizon did an absolutely terrible job on this install. After the 4th tech left the day after my install, Horizon was content to leave the matter closed instead of calling and offering a simple apology for the disaster of a job. Overall, it was an embarrassing experience for them and a potentially dangerous one for me. I don't even know what would happen to my home or the system if it had been left to continuously pump emergency heat into my home? What if I had left for the night and my pets were left in that home because I didn't realize there was an issue? Deal with these people at your own risk, they don't know what they are doing and are fine leaving your home in a potentially hazardous condition. read more

So we had their tech out for a heating tune up. I was told my spark igniter was at the end of its life and the part was $461 dollars to replace. That seemed a little high so I investigated. My 90 year old mother had a leak in her bathroom faucet. I was on the phone with the technician who said the only way to fix was to replace the$800 faucets. I was not there so what could I do but say yes. The technician replaced the chrome faucet with brass since they were out of stock and said he would come back when the chrome arrived. Guess what happened.....the faucet is still leaking. Obviously new faucets were not the solution. Where are my old ,perfect faucets ? Horizon did a great job installing our HVAC so we called them to have new faucets put into two bathroom sinks. Seemed to be a fairly simple job for a plumber. After he left we went to put the stuff back under the sink and noticed that the pipe is leaking and the sink is loose. Called back and was told we have to have the same guy come back to fix it and he can't come until tomorrow between 10-2. So his poor work now means we have to be here another day! What is wrong with this picture! Worst customer service ever!!! And they are ridiculously expensive! Update: After three phone calls and not backing down a different plumber was sent out to fix the problems. Dominic was very good. It took him almost as long to fix the issues as the first plumber spent here trying to do the installation. My opinion is Horizon has grown too quickly and they can't get enough good quality plumbers. If you're lucky you get a good one and if you're not you will have big issues! read more

This is easily the most ridiculous scenario. I had Horizon install two new furnaces and two new AC units back in December of 2017. That process was smooth and I was very happy. In fact, I was so happy I had my parents call for a new system in their house less than a month later. October of 2018 comes around and I call for the yearly service they recommended. May 21st is the earliest they can schedule me because they are very busy with furnace installs, however "they are calling people regularly to move the appointment sooner". Sure, why not. I make the appointment. May 20th rolls around, and I have not heard a single word from them. I call and confirm that the appointment is still on the schedule for between 4:00 and 8:00 (in the evening). Great! 8:00 rolls around, and I have not heard a word. I call and they say that a technician is finishing up a job and can be on his way shortly. I'll receive a call soon. I'm already annoyed at this point, but if the technician is right around the corner, so be it. 8:40 rolls around, I call again. He's on his way and it'll be about 20 more minutes until he gets there. So, to recap, I make an appointment 7 months in advance (much longer than I'd truly like), and no one can bother to call me about delays or other issues. As I said above, ridiculous. read more

These guys are gangsters. I had a heating unit that was not working and they sent out this guy to fix it. First he takes a look and says a capacitor needs to be replaced and tells me its going to cost $450. I asked him to show it to me and when I looked up the brand it was $3 on the internet. Since he had everything opened up I let him do the repair, then he told me they were not going to honor the $50 off coupon that they had sent me. A week later my unit went off again, this time he comes and replaces it and changes me about $400 for a $50 thermostat. My unit went out again and I decided not to use these guys. Someone needs to Sue them. DO NOT EVER CALL THEM FOR SERVICE read more

We have been using Horizon for the past 5 or so years. When we were replacing our HVAC system in our home from electric to gas we contacted 3 vendors, Horizon being one of them. Since then we have used them for our yearly maintenance. read more

I don't recommend Horizon. Their site says, "When you schedule a service with us, we'll provide you with a straightforward quote. That quoted price is the price you pay, period." That's true! But it doesn't mean the "service" will fix the problem - I had a leaky showerhead, they quoted me $600 to install new stems, they did the installation, I paid $600, and I still have a leaky showerhead. The tech was very nice but he had no solutions to offer other than to completely rip out the entire wall and replace everything for thousands of dollars. read more

. Six months ago I noticed the tech wasn't doing some of the things checked off on the list. I had to pressure him to clean the outside coils since it hadn't been done in 5 years of Horizon "tune ups". He cleaned about 3/4 inch of muck off of the coils. My system was running very inefficiently because of that. We have two units. He said the other unit has too many screws so skipped it. I complained to Horizon. I got the usual bla bla about how they will improve. Fast forward to a few days ago. Another "tune up". I figured I wouldn't say a word to the technician since I was assured the problem "will be fixed". Well he skipped doing the cleaning of the outside coils again. So much for Horizon FIXING THE PROBLEM. I wanted to speak to the owner of this franchise and was told I can't. I was told the service manager would call me and he didn't. I don't think this company knows what they are doing. They did send a tech out to clean the coils today because I complained. What happens to customers that don't know anything about HVAC? I know enough to be qualified to comment. What about old folks or non technical customers that assume if the boxes were checked the work was done? I guess they get the short end of the stick. And if an out of warranty system fails due to improper or incomplete "tune ups", you get zapped for the cost of it. Horizon needs to properly train their people and give them the time to do the work so they aren't apt to take short cuts. Horizon should have an ombudsman to follow up on visits not just have Dave G. tap dance around one star complaints on Yelp. I would think a business person would be concerned that negative reviews can hurt business. If you go to Horizon's site you see 5 stars for thousands of reviews. But if you go to Yelp, you see the real story. 2.5 stars. That is due to a lot of one star ratings. That Dave G. says he will fix. If they fixed it as well as they fixed my issue, it won't be fixed. Just window dressing. I will be calling the Operations manager Evan Bauer at 302-221-3511 about this review. read more

Another day, another plumbing issue. My house is closing in on being 100 years old so I'm in that sweet spot where things start breaking frequently. This time, the old cast iron drain stack leading from the second floor bathroom to the basement developed a large fissure and the idea of dookie water running down the inside of my walls wall not appealing. Jon arrived on time and after explaining the symptoms, he had to open up the wall to locate the source of the leak and he was then able to give us three pricing options depending the extent of what we wanted to replace. We decided to go for the second option, removing all of the cast iron and replace it with PVC, tying it into the PVC drain in the basement. He was all done by about 3:30 and the space was left neat and tidy after he was done. I'm never happy to have to Shell out large amounts of money for repairs but that's home ownership for you. Would I use horizon again? Yes I would. The booking process was quick and easy and Jon was really great. The prices we were quoted were in line with what I saw on home advisor so no surprises. read more
