It's worth the drive from the Westside to HopSaint. The food is consistent, nice portions, friendly and attentive service, the house brews are good and unique flavor profiles so there is something for everyone to choose from and enjoy. They have an in house smoker and smoke their own ribs, brisket, chicken, etc. The BBQ items are on certain days and the weekends and do sell out. Excellent first experience here. It's a converted old school diner that has been done really simple and tastefully. The California Haze was really tasty. The pale ale had much more flavor than expected. The kolsch was the only slightly disappointing beer. The drumlettes were perfect, smoky flavor and perfectly cooked to have crispy skin yet juicy inside. The sauce for dipping the drumlettes gives it a great flavor. I gave this restaurant 4 stars but could be 5. I love the Brussel Sprouts they are delicious. The steak salad is so tasty but I have a small problem with it. The Arugula has the stems which to me is not good. The stems poke your mouth as you eat. The chef should try and either trim it or they should buy already trimmed arugula. Also, the tri tip sandwich was good. Potatoes are so different I have mixed feelings over them. Over all, I do like this place! read more

Came to HopSaint on a Sunday, which is the best day to come because they have fresh Delicious Chili and smoked Bbq. We had the Chili and "The Belt" a delicious pork belly burger. The chili was delicious, it came with a corn bread muffin that was just as good. Happy-Face Pils as well as the Maximus ChaOS IPA were our favorite beers. I Love that they have beers from other local breweries on the menu. This place has a great vibe and good atmosphere. It's definitely family friendly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is one of the few breweries that I actually enjoy coming too. Not so much for the beer but for the food and they way it comes together so well with the beer. The rotating BBQ is excellent for stuff coming from SoCal. The spareribs are a winner. Brisket is above average, sorry to say that it's not Austin hill country bbq but it's still good especially for California. If you're in South Bay and you want some good bbq and beer in a relaxed retro-atmosphere this is a good choice. read more

Came here for lunch yesterday for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. Pulling up into the plaza, we were a bit confused since it shares a lot with a 99 cent store-my hubby jokingly asked me where are you taking me since HopSaint was all the way at the end of the plaza? And my friends expressed similar sentiments when they arrived to the restaurant. Once we walked in, I already loved the vibe and decor of the place-very modern but also very cozy and there were a lot of people, but it was not crowded and no wait. We needed a high chair, and were tight on space so the lovely people sitting next to us were a group of 2 and offered one of their tables so we'd have more space for our group of 4 adults and one toddler on a high chair. We decided to do family style since it was all our first time, and there was so much we wanted to try. We ordered the pulled pork poutine, which was my fave...loved the crispy torn potatoes with the cheese and delicious pulled pork! I want an order of this all to myself next time! The Sunday special chili was so yummy as was the corn bread that came with it, and it's a very big order, and pretty rich so I'd definitely share this one with a couple others. The chorizo flatbread had so many delightful flavors, I really liked it. I was just okay with the jambalaya scramble compared to the other dishes. The sides we ordered with the greens, mac and cheese, and mushrooms, out of the three I liked the mac and cheese the most. The food here is amazing, honestly some of the best of this kind of bar/comfort style food that I've had. I felt like I was in foodie heaven. You almost forget that you're in a brewery! I ordered a couple brews-the pale ale and hazy ipa. I enjoyed both. The hazy ipa is very fruity and almost looks like a glass of OJ. So glad to have found this spot, and love that it's hassle free. Wow! I didn't know I had this brewery in my neighborhood! We had the killer shrimp, absolutely amazing every bite was packed with flavor. We also ordered the baked Brie, although I love cheese, I really loved the taste of the bread because it was grilled, I actually ended up eating it with the killer shrimp! The cheese with the preserves was good a little too greasy, for my taste but good. The beer was delicious too and they have a wide variety of selection. Im giving them 5 stars because our waitress was phenomenal! She explained everything in detailed and she was very knowledgeable, offering us choices. I came here for the first time with a group of my friends (that have been here before) around 8pm for a quick bite and a beer. When we came in, the hostess let us know that the kitchen would close at 9pm, which I appreciated since our whole group were not all there yet. Our server was nice; he helped me choose a beer that I would like. He suggested the Kolsch beer and I did like it because it was light. My boyfriend and I ordered the brussels sprouts, shrimp and bacon mac and cheese, and I got the Hop Saint burger. The brussels sprouts were very good and the mac and cheese is something I recommend everyone get. The burger didn't really please me, I ate a little less than half of the burger. The beer and food are each 4/5 stars, but the combination of the two is excellent and will definitely be a "go-to" for me if I'm in the mood. They've got a variety of their own beers as well as many from other breweries, so it's great to have the options. I had their Next Level IPA, which was nice and refreshing on a warm summer evening. I also sampled the Thunderbelly Imperial IPA, which is powerful and hoppy but quite drinkable. For dinner, I had the shrimp & bacon mac-n-cheese, which was flavorful and delicious; it was so rich that I actually ate it for 2 meals! Waited an hour and ten minutes for our food... Our server Jackie NEVER came to our table to speak with us about any accommodations for our food or drinks. She brought our appetizer out with tons of attitude for absolutely no reason. We did not speak to her once so I don't understand why she had the audacity to be angry at us. I'm assuming she was very embarrassed for her actions when she made a busser bring our food to us. Everyone else around us received their meals directly from their server so I don't understand why she didn't do it herself. This place is tucked away in the corner of an unsuspecting plaza. Torrance has a lot of great breweries, and I'm glad this one is located so close to me. We waited for about 30 minutes on a Friday evening. We were so hungry we almost left, but I'm glad we stayed. I didn't get a drink but I had some of my bf's. It was so good! Really refreshing - and that says a lot coming from me cause I don't even like the taste of beer! I could've finished the whole thing by myself, as the crisp flavor really complemented the heavy food. This is gonna sound awful but I don't remember what it's called. BUT! If a random beer we chose was that good, I'm optimistic that their other beers are just as tasty. FOOD * Smoked jidori chicken drumettes (3/5) - honestly these were just OK. * HopSaint burger - my bf gobbled the whole thing up so I can confidently say it was good. * HopSaint killer shrimp (5/5) - I trusted all the positive reviews on Yelp and so glad I did. Whoa didn't expect to like this place so much. Got their killer shrimp with killer bread and mushroom flatbread with arugula and balsamic vinaigrette. I didn't get a beer cuz I was placing to-go and was gonna drive. Not about that DUI. For take out, I just had to walk up to the bar and the bartenders were able to get my takeout order. My food came out quickly. Parking was easy since there's a huge lot in front, so it felt like a park and go. What would have been better if their phone worked, so I could call in but it kept on going to their voice message and the voice message box was full.... oh weellll. The killer shrimp was finger licking good. The mushroom flatbread was also good, but it got really soggy on my drive home so I bet it's much better if you just eat it in the bar. This place was exactly what I thought it would be. Totally lived up to my expectations. The food is stellar and exciting and the whole restaurant is such a jem. Who would expect this place to be right next to a 99 cent only store. Not me. The ambiance is casual and very modern hipster vibe. They brew their own beer but they don't sell bottles to go so if you some to go bring a growler. There didn't seem to be a happy hour menu. Expect to spend 15+ per item and walk out not quite full. We got the brisket to start and was sorely disappointed. It looked really good since it came out glistening in juices and the marbled color from the smoking process definitely helped sell the product; however, it was a bit more dry and chewy than I would expect. It is definitely not Texas brisket. Next came the poutine which was basically chunks of fried potatoes mixed with cheese and pulled pork. There wasn't enough cheese in the poutine for it to create that gravy that makes poutine, poutine. It tasted more like loaded potatoes. The redeeming dish was the killer shrimp. It is basically garlic bread with a shrimp soup sauce you can dip the bread in. There were around 4-5 pieces of shrimps. The sauce was very flavorful. Definitely recommend this dish. read more
