We went to Hops on a Friday afternoon. I was hungry for Fish & Chips and their Friday special doesn't disappoint. I ordered the 5-piece that came with fries, coleslaw and sauces. My husband had his usual patty melt. Both meals cooked to our requests. 5 large pieces of cod, batter very crunchy, not greasy. Took 2 pieces home. Fresh cut fries are always yummy. I ordered a side salad and it was fresh and served first. Service is always spot on. Kayla was our server and she is a delight. 5 piece fish $18.50, patty melt $18.80, side salad $6.25 and one soft drink $3.25. Total with tax $50.87. Typical prices these days but we brought home enough for an additional meal each. The dining room is typical bar with sit down horseshoe bar area and several tables inside and an outside dining area as well. Restroom is always clean and tables are cleared quickly. The place was very busy but Kayla had no problems keeping up with the pace. One of our favorite places nowadays. read more

Neighborhood type of establishment. The bar was filled, however lots of room at the tables. Service was fast and the meals were brought out quickly. I had the green chili cheeseburger with bacon and fries. Also had a salad which was very good. Cheeseburger was good, however the fries were very greasy. . Definitely home style cooking. This is one my favorite spots on the east side of Tucson. It's in a shopping center, so at times it may seem a little difficult to spot, but hey, this is Tucson, lots of things are in shopping centers. We went on Monday night, which meant Monday Night Football was on all the screens, which is why we went here. The screens are well laid out. You won't miss the game. The server was super friendly. She had to clean up a mess at another table left by a departed group that apparently had a lot of mud on their shoes; she apologized six or seven times for taking a few extra minutes to clean up the mess before coming over to the table. (It wasn't an issue for us at all but we appreciate the gesture). The server was super friendly and efficient. There's a great beer list. The menu is fairly extensive and has something for everyone. Their burgers and chicken sandwiches are huge. The beer battered fries are awesome. And the vibe of the place is just super friendly. Big fan. I always look forward to going back. read more

We had a really good lunch at Hops Sports Grill! We liked the location and inside area with the lively bar and the huge televisions. It is definitely a sports lover's paradise if you want to catch a game. The menu is really extensive so there is something for everyone. For as cheap as it is, you also get a ton of food. We got the BLT and the grilled cheese. Both came with a mountain of fries on the side. The BLT was stacked super high with bacon and we were surprised to see so much for an item that wasn't that pricey. The grilled cheese was awesome and the bread they used was made to perfection. This bar/grill was surprisingly not very busy when we arrived for lunch. It got some busier, but was never packed. We were seated at a large table in the side area and it worked well for our group. Our server was friendly and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu. I got the grilled fish meal. It came with a side salad, zucchini/corn, and a nice sized piece of white fish. It was all good, although the fish was overcooked and a bit tough. Portions for everyone were generous. If you pay in cash, you get a discount. I chose to do that and gave her some cash. When she returned my change, there were no coins. When I asked about that, she said they don't have coins on them. It wasn't a big deal, but it completely negated the discount for paying cash. To me, that doesn't make sense. If you're offering a discount for paying in cash then you need to give people the complete change they are due. read more

I tried some new things and was not disappointed. If you come here, you MUST try the mac n cheese balls!!! Just the right amount of spice. So freaking guys. It's been a while since we've been in so we decided to go. Sat at bar. Chris is nice. Drinks were good. Patrons are all friendly, very comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately food was not good. The last few times seems everything if over cooked. Reason why we hadn't been going. I had chicken scampi. It came out burnt. Garlic butter burnt. Spaghetti hard n burnt. Hubby had the GOAT it came out burnt. No cheese. Fries over cooked. We don't complain and we don't send back food. We both had 3 bites each and couldn't eat it. So, I thought we will just take home and maybe I can fix or something. Took food home and looking at it again and there's nothing good about it. After a great hike through Saguaro National Park, my family and I found Hops Sports Grill close by and was encouraged by the other Yelp reviews. We found a nice table for 4 and was greeted by Braigen who was our server and did an excellent job. Lots of nice craft beers on draft. I had an Elysian Space Dust while others had the Bells 2 Hearted Ale and Firestone 805. For food, we went with the Sampler Platter which had at least 4 of everything so we could all get a sample. It had Buffalo Wings, Onion Rings, Fried Zucchini, Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers, and Stuffed Potato Skins. That should have been enough, but we also went for the Whiskey Boneless Wings and the Buffalo Wings. We must have been there during happy hour because our bill had discounts on all items between $1.00 and $2.00 each. They do charge a 4% credit card fee. Either way, it was a great deal and worth it. 03/20/2023: Met up with Kristen n Angela in the bar section for a quick bite to eat during happy hour. Ordered up two servings of the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers stuffed with cream cheese and more spices. Hot out the oven, I had to allow them to cool door. Finally got to taste them, Wow, these are really good, glad I ordered another. In addition, the women ordered the loaded potato skins. Yum, more bacon deliciousness. Met the bartender Squirty! She's a hoot. Squirty introduced us to the miniture beers, well the look just like frothy beer, however there tasted really good, the dangerously good kind of good. You'll know what I mean once you try it. We sat at the bar, and met people all around. Really awesome atmosphere. There is a large patio section outside to the south with lots of televisions. I was looking for a local bar to watch a game as I'm from out of town, and came across this one. So I decided to check it out. It's a nice bar where you can tell (well i did) at the TV when the referees don't know what they're talking about. The staff was great and checked on us regularly keeping our drinks never empty. The food was perfect for the experience. Had great appetizers and a really great burger. And I heard the tacos were good too! Good choices of food and good choices of drinks for the most part. The service was decent. The place it's self is a little small and chilly. I wanted to bring in another jacket so I wouldn't be so cold but didn't have it. I ate my leftovers because it was that good, which I normally dislike leftovers. So that's a big win. Cool sports bar for the east side of town. They had a pretty good variety of beers. The place isn't any place fancy as it's a little worn down, but appears to be pretty clean. The staff is fast and curtious. The food is pretty good. I had the shrimp tacos for dinner and they were pretty good. The tortillia seemed fresh as in made there.
