    Cobb Salad
    Leah H.

I wanted a salad and Hopkins was the first place I thought of. I got the Cobb salad with chicken salad instead of grilled chicken. The salad is huge, filling the container. Their house-made creamy Italian dressing is delicious! (And they sell it by the bottle) My one complaint is that the chicken salad was mediocre and dry. I did get the mint tea, which is top tier.

Second day in a row eating here. When I tell you the best salad in town hands down. This is the best salad I've ever eaten in my life. The best with or without dressing. I have here the grilled chicken salad but customized. No green peppers, no onions, no tomatoes. Add cucumber and eggs with the house made Italian. The absolute best! Make sure you're at the Capital Cirlce SE location!

Food was decently priced and full of flavor. I built my own sandwich and just got roast beef and cheese on a poppy seed roll. Very casual atmosphere and the girl that took our order was pleasant. I didn't see any outside dining but the inside is much bigger than i expected, if it wasn't so far away from me i'd go there more often.

My first impression of Hopkins Eatery was "Holy smokes, why is it so big?" And gentlemen, as much as we all love to humor this question, this time it doesn't appear to be all satisfactory. Hopkins could be two, potentially three sizable restaurants. Although space isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things, it simply came off rather awkward. With that said, the food was tasty. The Smothered Beef melted in my mouth. The fresh bread (could be homemade) was soft and airy. However, the sandwich as a whole was a bit too oily, in turn sogging each bite. The blueberry cheesecake for dessert was creamy, fruity and everything I had hoped for. I enjoy simple, fresh ingredients, but the menu seemed to consist of primarily all of the same items. Sprouts, veggies, turkey, cheese and so on. Good food, not great, but worth giving another try.

    Turkey on rye. Yummy.

Fantastic sandwiches. They've been open for 28 years and they know what they are doing. I've had salads, soups, and sandwiches here, all delicious. Today I'm having a Turkey on rye. The bread seems home made, turkey is not processed (!) And has a big hole slice of cheddar with lettuce and tomato. It's been four times here and I always eat outside and have always been happy. You will be to!

Really good sandwiches on fresh bread. We stopped here for a quick dinner on a Monday night. It was just after 7 and we had the place all to ourselves. (Which made me nervous) But our Chicken Salad Melt and Turkey Wrap was great and Service was good too. The menu is full of delicious sounding sandwiches. It's almost overwhelming and makes ordering a bit stressful as you're standing at the counter trying to order and not hold anyone up. The desserts on the counter looked amazing but we passed because were trying to cut out the sugar. My only recommendation would be to put more turkey in the wrap - it just was a little slim. Overall nice, clean place to eat!

Ordered grilled chicken salad. It was ok, lots of lettuce and very little chicken, only a small wedge of a tomato.

Gave this place a shot as I've heard good things, but the bread kills the sandwich. Doesn't taste fresh. It's also somewhat stiff.

Mediocre at very best! Think Subway... subs are over dressed and light on the meat and cheese. Very disappointed and would not return.

Hopkins is just OK. They put some creativity into their food which is nice but the reality is that it's mediocre.

They also offer a 5% discount if you pay in cash, which is a nice bonus. I got "The Hummer," which has turkey, feta, black olives, tomato, onion, and lettuce on rye-pumpernickel with mayonnaise and house dressing. It was so good. The bread was SUPER YUMMY and looked beautiful too (if you care about aesthetics). All the flavors blended together really well without anything overpowering, and it had this refreshing quality to it that made it stand out. I would definitely order it again. My partner got "The Sauté," which is turkey with Parmesan, Cheddar, Swiss, and a mix of sautéed onions, peppers, and mushrooms on a warm poppy seed roll, plus lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and house dressing. The roll was good and it was very flavorful but is was the combination of the veggies, turkey, and melted cheeses gave it a lot of depth. Everything tasted fresh. I got a combo with Mrs. Vickie's salt and vinegar chips, which is always a good sign. And the sweet tea--wow. It wasn't overly sweet, but what really stood out was the flavor. You could actually taste the tea, with slightly minty, earthy notes that made it feel really well done. That's rare. Overall, for what this place is, it deserves all stars. The staff was kind and helpful, the food came out quickly, and everything we had was genuinely good. P.S. There is no photos because I forgot due to it being so da** good!

An impromptu trip to Peru is absolutely within reach, and shockingly affordable!…read more We had a last minute opportunity to go out for dinner and decided to make a reservation for Cafe de Martin because they had availability for our semi "early bird" time slot. We chose to dine on their colorful outdoor terrace, and when I tell you that we were transported to another country.... I mean, it literally took us out of Tally and dropped us in a tropical paradise. As the sun went down, the lights began to glow. The ambiance was surreal. I repeatedly told my husband I felt thousands of miles away from home. Was it the cafe lights or the Sangria? I can't be sure. The live music began and it was a whole vibe. Heads turned, ears perked up, and an entire terrace just exhaled. The sultry atmosphere was only overshadowed by the savory food. Dear Lord we ate far too much. What is that saying? Ask forgiveness not permission. Sounds about right. We started with cocktails and Fried Yucca. The Jamaican Margarita was a perfect blend with a sweet sugared rim. The Sangria was a full party in the glass with fresh fruit. The Yucca portion was hefty, but we ate it ALL. In hindsight, we should have saved more room for our actual meal. We ordered Lomo Saltado Beef that was so tender and rich, and it was accompanied by another hefty portion of indulgent carbs. See? That's where moderation in our starter would have been wise. Ahh lessons learned. If we had saved half of the Yucca for leftovers it would have reheated in an air fryer beautifully. We also ordered the Escabeche which was a beautifully fried , snapper filet served with sweet potato and rice. The sauce was simple and elegant with that classic tart vinegar bite. We looked at the dessert menu. I repeat, looked. We simply had no more room. We'll be back soon and promise to make it to the dessert menu and coffee.
