Great staff and good wine! Some of the best sweet wines that we've tried. Can't wait to go back and try the food.

Friday night is date night, so I took my wife out for some New Orleans-style food. We decided on…read moreGulf Shores Restaurant & Grill. We were greeted and seated right away, which was a nice start to the evening. This was our first visit to this particular location, although we've dined a few times over the years at their Creve Coeur restaurant. Our server was also tending bar that evening. He was polite and attentive, although a bit soft-spoken, which made him a little difficult to hear at times in the busy restaurant. We started with drinks--my wife ordered her usual glass of Chardonnay, and I went with a Corona. For dinner, my wife chose the blackened red snapper tacos with green beans and beans and rice, while I ordered the seaside combo with cod and shrimp, served with green beans and potato wedges. Our food arrived in about 25 minutes, and everything tasted very good. My wife especially kept talking about how flavorful the red snapper tacos were. The seafood tasted fresh, and the sides complemented the meals nicely. Overall, both the service and food made for a very enjoyable evening. The only downside was the price, as the dishes are definitely on the higher side. Still, with seafood being shipped in from the coast/gulf, that's somewhat understandable. All in all, it was a good dining experience, and we'd consider coming back again for another date night.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I received the incorrect order, and when I brought…read moreit to the owner's attention, they refused to correct the mistake or make it right. I followed up with the owner only after I never received the resolution that was agreed-upon in the restaurant. I was initially told a refund would be issued, and I waited a full billing cycle as advised by my bank to allow time for it to process. The refund never came. When I followed up, the owner refused to honor what was previously agreed upon. I even asked them to review their surveillance footage to verify that an error was made, but they declined to do so. Instead of taking accountability and resolving the issue professionally, they chose not to correct it. Mistakes happen I understand that. What matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, this was handled poorly, and I cannot recommend a business that refuses to stand behind its own errors. When the owner refused to correctthe issue and blamed me instead for not following up sooner, I told the owner that I would be pursuing the matter further than the owner said they were not going to do anything if I did so. In hindsight trying to blackmail me so that I would receive a partial refund and not warn others.

There is an outside area in addition to the small inside bar and seating area. What can you expect? Depends on the day and time you go. You'll always be served great drinks and adequate food. The service is diverse. During breakfast-lunch you'll need to be patient and be ok with feeling like you are a bother. The gentleman that helps deliver food and drinks is wonderful, but the bar tender ...???? The staff late afternoons and evenings are some of the best in town. The food is average, with breakfast being very popular. If you want has browns ask for them high and dry for crispy. French toast is good. While it is supposed to be known for Cajun food, the gumbo is terrible. I was served a bowl of rice with a pasty glob of something on top. Not only that it was served semi-warm. I was told that people from NOLA come here for their Gumbo. Hmm.. The French Quarter has been around forever and will always be one of the iconic West County Bars. Overall they have a good product and some of the best bar-tenders in the city.

My Husband ordered: Lobster, shrimp, seafood cheesecake??? The waitress said to order it, it may not sound to good, but you will like it. SPECTACULAR!! They have a huge dock which is nice for those with boats (I recommend reserving a space of any holiday weekends/summer weekends to make sure you have a space as it can get packed). Downstairs there's seating, showers, bathrooms, and a pool. Upstairs there's both an outdoor & indoor bar as well as outdoor patio and indoor seating. When it gets busy be prepared to wait for a spot as most people linger & drink. I love that there's the outdoor bar so you can at least grab a drink while you wait. The food & drinks are responsibly priced. Service can vary as sometimes we have a waiter that's on it and super fast & efficient and other times we aren't checked on and have gone to the bar for more drinks since we couldn't find out waiter. For food I definitely recommend the shrimp poboy! Overall a great place to go for some good food & drinks at a decent price. Will continue coming back every season.
