I called Alexander Dental and explained the situation. Dr. Alexander explained they had a digital scanner that could scan the surface of the tooth area and upload the file for a the tooth to be made and this would greatly decrease the time between the first visit and the second visit so it could all be done while i was in Florida. True to his word he was able to scan the tooth on Thursday and by the following Wednesday, just two days before Christmas I had the the new tooth and a cleaning. His office staff (lead by his his lovely and attractive wife) were very helpful and friendly. Dr Alexander was attentive even though he was very busy (everyone getting perfect teeth for their Christmas photos i guess) and made sure I understood exactly what was going on and answered all my questions. The office is modern and professional and I couldn't have been happier. He is also a former marine and since my son is in the Navy that doesn't hurt. I would definitely recommend Alexander Dental.

Im not okay with getting that many and they refused to just gather few simple ones. I drove over an hour at 730 in the morning just for them to be rude and not willing to work with the patient who simply doesn't want 1000 xrays. All I needed was a simple cleaning. Like I've gotten a hundred times at other places. I would never recommend this office and im not sure why I was so dumb to actually try and give them a second chance... I gave them my orthodontist before hand but for some reason they did not call him to get my xrays.. yall may be OK with that many xrays but I AM NOT. And then they just wanna recommend another expensive ass deep cleaning that I DONT NEED to pay for their rent and employees paychecks GTFOH. I have nearly perfect teeth. No nasty build up or cavities galore with crowns or nroidges bridges. I have none of that. They wanna create it by deep cleaning and giving you periodontal disease when you never were going down that road. THEY wanna max out your insurance and then when you dont it they want you to sign on their wack ass plan. Don't do it.

We went here (because they were significantly less for a crown than other place) and Dr. David did xray and said, You ALREADY HAD a root canal, it is fine, you just need some sensitive toothpaste, and that took care of. Talk about being honest! My husband is disabled and the staff is always kind and helpful in getting him accomodated and transfered around. Quite happy.

We've NEVER run into this kind of arrangement in our collective 140 year experience. One explanation, we thought, was that they couldn't hire or retain enough dental hygienists. And why is that? Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. I called 1st City Dental, and they were able to get me in right away. From the moment I arrived, the entire experience was exceptional. The front office staff was welcoming, efficient, and had me checked in quickly. The hygienist was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive in taking the x-rays. Going to a new dentist for pain is always a risk - if they claim dozens of cavities (and maybe a couple of root canals!), plumping up their bill into the thousands, how would I ever know the difference? That did not happen at all. Dr. Painter made no attempts to sell me anything extra, located the cavities and did the drilling necessary to fix them. I could tell at least one tooth was pretty bad - I had been having constant pain for a while, and he agreed that I probably narrowly avoided a root canal. Throughout my appointments Dr. Painter was friendly, cheerful, and personable, which really helped take my mind off my ridiculous fears of dental work. The only bad thing about the office is that Dr. Painter's good reputation seems to have gotten around, and his waiting room was pretty busy. And it doesn't help his waiting time that he is so incredibly careful with his patients - he re-did one tooth from scratch just because he wasn't 100% confident that the filling was perfect. As he said, he wanted it to be perfect. And since I went, it has been! While I can't say I ever *enjoy* my visits to a dentist, it really makes such a difference when the dentist treating you seems so incredibly competent and careful!

I had been experiencing jaw and tooth pain on a stay to our family retreat in St. Augustine (…read morebummer right?) I waited to see if the pain would subside, but it continued, so I googled dentists and found Dr. Daniel Haeussner on Yelp. Called and talked to Kara, who was so kind a welcoming and they fit me in the same day to see what was going on. Everything from their lovely office, to their friendly staff, to their service was top notch. Kim, my dental assistant, quickly put me at ease and assured we'd address what the issue is as she took X-rays and made me comfortable. Dr. Haeussner came in and let me know everything looked good in the X-ray. He asked if I had been stressed lately (who hasn't!? But my job has been very stressful lately) and thought I may be grinding my teeth. He asked if I had also been experiencing headaches, which last week I had terrible headaches, so much so I got a Covid test just to be sure! He did a bite test, and even when I thought there is no way this pain is coming from grinding, he was sweet and did another one just to ease my concerns. He recommended a warm compress and anti-inflammatory. I could not believe this was causing this sort of pain, so I was so relieved to hear the news! I thought for sure I needed emergency filling or root canal. My dad is a dentist in Michigan and so this was my first experience outside of family. Dr. Haeussner assured me there were no major concerns and I appreciated his honest, sincere compassion with the situation. Funny enough, we laughed how my dad is also named Daniel, and I saw the Dr. Dan of St. Augustine. Anyone who is looking for a dentist, look no further! I do not recommend Seabreeze Dental. Earlier this year (2025) I went to them to just get a…read morecleaning, which is all I ever need. They took x-rays and told me I had gum disease and needed a deep cleaning, plus 2 to 3 crowns, plus a cavity filled. I had them do one crown then got more doubtful of the diagnosis (had no symptoms of gum disease or a cavity). I had them send my x-rays to another dentist in town who found no problems with my teeth and gave me a regular cleaning. All is well except that that the one crown Seabreeze did put on causes me to bite my cheek even months later and after two attempts to file it down some. Also, it took the dentist there several attempts to numb my tooth when prepping it for the crown and I still felt pain.
