This used to be a favorite spot to eat and have drinks but clearly not anymore. This is the second time it's happened where it wasn't very busy and we were given waters and asked immediately to order and we asked for a minute and the waitress/bartender outdoors never comes back even after we've made eye contact a couple times ... maybe it's some weird rule to scare people off idk. We hadn't been back in a few years so decided to try it again and the service is just not the same. We hadn't been back our two year old with us who was beyond ready to eat and Eve tha didn't get her attention so we left and probably won't be back and other families should think about it too. Recently went to Hooters with my son and husband because we just wanted to grab a bite. We have gone to Geckos which is increasingly disappointing and Chili's and Applebee's have all become overpriced for the quality and portion sizes. I forgot how much fun Hooters is. Growing up there was a huge stigma instilled in me by my parents against the objectification involved it the whole premise of it but I don't think that really holds up these days. The girls are all very lovely and their outfits aren't that skimpy considering how lax everyone has become in the way that people dress. The food is consistently good and pretty fresh. You always know what you're going to get when you go there and you don't have to pay $25 for a burger and curly fries. Great portions and fun for all. read more

Tonight is my lone day off before a long work week. I've worked in the restaurant business and industry for 28 years. I value service and character above all else when I chose to dine somewhere. I love Hooters and have numerous options in the St. Pete/Clearwater area. I passed up 4 other Hooters locations alone to come make my visit to Hooters of Sarasota. Bartender Melissa has been taking care of me for a couple years now. Hooters prides themselves on having employees of strong character and values. Her service to me as a guest has been exceptional and friendly. I am extremely picky about what bartemders/servers I sit with regularly anywhere. I have to vibe with them and they must be genuine. She fits the bill. I'm always made to feel welcome by her at this location. If it wasn't for employees like her I'd chose to go elsewhere. I work two jobs and work very hard for my money. I chose to spend it where I feel I'm appreciated and my patronage is as well. Along with being a 2023 Calender girl and personal friend employees like her she should be valued. Let me start out by saying I like Hooters. I've been taking my kids to this Hooters since they were little and they had kids eat free on Saturdays. Now that my kids are older, they still like going to Hooters when they're in town. That may never happen again. Last night my son and I were trying to decide what to eat. I'm undergoing cancer treatment so I don't get out much and hadn't been out to eat in awhile. So my son mentioned Hooters. We could sit in the patio area if it wasn't crowded. We got there and found a nice table in the corner. The waitress came out and asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered a glass of wine and my son ordered a beer.(he's 25) She asked him for ID and then told him it was expired (or fault. Expired three days ago) so he ordered a Pepsi. When she came back with his drink, we ordered an appetizer. Twenty-five minutes later, someone from inside the restaurant ran out with our mozzarella sticks. We had no plates or silverware which I pointed out to him. He got nasty and said he just wanted to get the food out to us and she should've brought them. He must've said something to her because she ran over with the plates. She took our food order. The mozzarella sticks were ice cold. Our food came out a little bit later. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and fries and my son ordered a chicken sandwich. Apparently Hooters doesn't serve a pickle with your sandwich anymore. Maybe they ran out and couldn't hike down to Publix. I don't know. I took a bite of my sandwich and it tasted like they used it to clean the grill. Gross. My son picked up his sandwich and had to wait for the grease to finish running out. The fries were good tho. We didn't eat much, they did take the appetizer off the bill, but I won't be back. I'm going to have to say that management is the problem. And yes, the music was much louder than I remember. Spend your money elsewhere. There are so many better restaurants in the area. I never thought I would take my family to Hooters. In my mind I've always thought of it as a bar/restaurant for guys. I was so wrong! We ordered wings that were fantastic I have to say some of the best wings I've ever had. Fried pickles were perfect you definitely get more than your moneys worth. The hamburger could've used a little more flavor but it was delicious. My daughter had the Philly cheesesteak unfortunately it was a little soggy. I've been coming to this Restaurant for 25 years. And it has always been a great experience. Tonight, topped it. after a long grueling sales trip, I needed a break. Sat at the bar and ordered a drink and the Buffalo Shrimp. Fabulous! But more so, was the service. Melissa greeted me with the biggest smile when I came in! She was the most friendly person l've met working there! she was so nice. Made me feel special! We go to this Hooters pretty frequently, maybe once a month or so. I always have consistently good food, good service, and clean restaurant. Really enjoy the atmosphere. They're social distancing by blocking out booths and limiting seating during COVID and everyone wears a mask. Outdoor seating is of course available too. If was fine The Western BBQ Burger I had for lunch today was fine. It was a tasty burger with a side of BBQ sauce, plated with a couple of giant deep fried onions rings. My side of coleslaw was also pretty good. While it wasn't a massive amount of food, it was enough for a good lunch, and priced ok. My server did a good job, checking on me and even giving me a soft drink to go at the end of my meal. I like the place, it has a good sports bar feel with lots and lots of TVs. This review is solely for the manager of the location. There was a restaurant full of people watching the LOCAL Tampa Bay Lightning Playoff game, and the manager would not turn on the sound. Clearly this establishment does not support local sports as the manager said they will only turn on the sound for "important" games. Horrible experience! Where to start.... Headed to Hooters to meet with some family members from Ohio. We no longer have Hooters in Ohio and now I know why. We chose Hooters because we used to like the food and we knew we could watch the NFL playoffs. We got there early, got a nice table and that's where good service ended. First, the music was sooo loud we couldn't talk. After asking 3 times to turn it down, waitress told us the volume was 'broken'. Ok, this is where a good (or even halfway decent manager) would have come over and explain it to us or just turn it off! Next; it's game time. There are 37 TVs in the place and it's the NFL playoff to determine who goes to the Super Bowl and only 2 TVs tuned to the correct channel. We ask the manager to turn the TVs to the game and they tell us they can't and proceed to respond completely rude to one of our party - we are not 20 year olds, we are responsible middle-aged people and there is no reason for these people to be combative to customers! The large man dressed in. Black who was just standing around most of the day continued to mouth off to us after we asked for the TVs to be tuned to the right channel and returned to our table. Next , I asked the thin older manager dressed in a blue shirt if he could put the games on and he tells me they are not a sports bar and only play the super bowl, Tampa Bay and Lightning games -really buddy? We'll can you at least turn the music down so we can talk? He walks away. No wonder hooters is struggling. This guy should be fired-and I haven't even got to the food!! There's an older gentleman sitting in the back eating and having a glass of wine while one of the waitresses sits with him the entire time - I feel like I'm in a strip club. My wife orders wings -all drummies. She gets 10 all flappers. The waitress did correct the order but, I would think a manager would remove that from the bills for having to wait of a new order. By the time my wife received her order, everyone else was done eAting. My recommendation, spend your money somewhere else. Had to go to my wife's bank in Sarasota so figured we'd get some wings at Hooters. Been there dozens of times but not during Covid. They had a new girl in training which is why my ordered was wrong but the one thing that really was disturbing was the lax concern and enforcement of social distancing and wearing masks. Had a couple sit right behind us with Open table set up. One hostess wearing a mask below her nose. Also its common sense to take off your mask when you are seated and stationary but when customers are walking. My wife and I stopped in for lunch today and sat at the bar. We ordered and our server was very nice. Our lunch was served and we needed some mustard. Our server was assisting tables on the floor area so we asked a man who appeared to be the manager who had just finished replacing a keg. After asking him if we could get some mustard he replied "I can, but you don't see me wearing orange shorts, do you?" How rude and condescending not only to us but the ladies that work there. As a manager myself I know we wear every uniform within our location and there is no task either small or large that is below our job descriptions. When we got home, we saw they weren't tossed, and the sauce that came with them was orange oil, it didn't even taste like wing sauce. My wife called and the manager rudely told her that's just how the 'medium' sauce is, it's butter based. She said they were supposed to be tossed at the store, and that she's gotten them before and always liked them.
