Our group of 4 family members enjoyed dinner at the Sarasota location of this chain restaurant on a recent Monday night. We were surprised that there was already a wait at 5:30 pm. We were seated in a booth by 6. Service was very good. In our group there were orders of onion soup, a cheeseburger, the 35 shrimp platter, fish & chips, and a Mimi's bowl. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but had no room for dessert. We've been to other locations of Miller's, and had good meals every time. I wish they had a location nearer to where we live. read more

Miller's Ale House was very busy around dinner time--even on a weekday--so service was a bit slow, which is expected during peak hours. Because I was hungry, we chose to sit at the bar to avoid waiting for a table, and that was a good decision. They had a dinner special featuring a full rack of baby back ribs, and it was excellent. The ribs were meaty, tender, and flavorful, easily the best part of the meal. I would definitely come back specifically for the baby back ribs. The sides were also good. The cattle chips were crispy and well-seasoned, and the coleslaw was fresh and paired nicely with the ribs. Overall, despite the crowd and slower service, the food was worth it. A solid choice for casual dining, especially if you're craving baby back ribs. read more

We got the spinach artichoke dip and it was not our favorite, it wasn't very flavorful or creamy as advertised. I got the fish and chips which were really good, all super crunchy. My mom got the mozzarella stick burger which I think was a special/promo and she really liked it. She gave me one of the mozzarella sticks and sadly no cheese pull, but still yummy. My boyfriend got the nachos but asked to substitute the chicken for beans, which our server seemed to have an issue with and "didn't feel comfortable putting the beans on it" so she put it on the side and he immediately dumped it on. I had no idea this place allows 4 year olds to sit at the bar. Though we've eaten at other Miller's Ale House before.... This is our first time at this location in Sarasota. It's easy off the I-75 freeway. It has similar decor as it's set up as a sports bar. TV's are everywhere, so viewing is easy, no matter where you sit. We decided to sit at the outside patio bar.... Great weather. Jaime was our Bartender. What a delightful young lady. Last weekend we came in to watch college football and we ordered two dozen Buffalo wings.Let me tell you it was the best buffalo wings we've ever had! We found out that Marcus was the chef preparing our food and it was delicious!! I cant exactly remember our servers name but he was fabulous also!! My wife and I were on vacation on Anna Maria Island and unfortunately a hurricane came through and we had to evacuate the island, so we headed 20 miles inland to Sarasota and stayed at a Hilton Home2 Suite, which was very nice. We decided to walk a mile to Miller's for some dinner. I ordered one of my favorite IPAs, a Jai Alai from Cigar City and a mahi sandwich. Our server was very nice and it was a classic sports bar feel and was pretty full. The sandwich was good, but I don't think fish filets are square, but it was fine. I told my wife it was kind of an upscale Chili's or Applebee's. The prices were reasonable and if you like a sports bar, that is what you get. We went about four PM and the guests were a little older, but overall it hit the spot for a solid linner and a couple of beers. read more

Disappointing & Expensive experience ...server hardly came by to check on us thru out our dinner. (Mind you it was not that busy of an evening) She rang in an order of 18 wings (which we only ordered 12) charged us for 2 orders of fries ( which we got ONE) ... Food..the WINGS were Not Good.. We order 12 wings ..all flats (which xtra cost) ..extra crispy with 2 different flavors Korean BBQ & Garlic Parm... Not sure about y'all but I don't want to bite into a slimy wing..and these wings were EXACTLY that.... Food is not great. First time had the Ossobuco, just ok. Second time had the prime rib. I don't know what it was, but it was completely overcooked. It was not shaved or cut from a prime rib piece and it was drowned in some kind of liquid. Totally taste. Tasteless, grizzly tough as nails. Ask them to remake a burger medium came out. Well done missing barbecue sauce.. Caesar salad came out without Caesar dressing totally wilted: in front of the house and back of the house are not communicating allowed us to order something that was completely out. Bathrooms are disgusting. Benches are hard as rocks no padding. The only saving grace is decent service, but even then our server only had a few tables and disappeared for 10 minutes at a time. I would not recommend. Both the manager and the back of the house staff need to be fired. Won't be back again. read more

Raving here I stopped in for lunch today. I had already checked out their menu online and was ready to order as soon as my server came by. She came by just as soon as the hostess walked away. We got off to a great start. My lunch of choice was their Prime Burger, one of Miller's favorites. It took about 10 minutes to arrive. It looked great, a tall stack of burger patties and mushrooms, onions, and a white cheese. This burger tasted even better than it looked. I couldn't figure out why this burger was so good and moist without being all greasy until I looked at their menu again, it also lists gravy. Very inventive. At 1/2 lb it was filling. The fries even had a sprinkle of pepper. This place takes food seriously. They also take sports seriously, with TVs all around. My server couldn't have done a better job. Parking is close, and they have outdoor seating. Definitely a visit worth raving about. read more

I was in last night an hour before closing and I have never felt less wanted an hour before closing. The bartender Alysa almost a half hour before closing was asking if we needed boxes when we were about half way through our meal. Then proceeded to make us feel even more unwanted by sweeping all around us and was putting up chairs. If it was after closing I would expect this but if you don't want to close or burnt out from the hospitality business please don't work in a restaurant. I'm a manager of a restaurant and if any of my employees did this we would have a moment and talk about their future in my store and if they wanted to be here or just wanted something more fitting for them. If I could leave zero stars I would start this and I've been here hundreds of times going back to when I worked across the street at chilis. Highly disappointed read more

The food used to be good there, it has gone downhill in the last couple years, in my opinion. I used to love to go there and get the French dip roast beef sandwich. I went there because I've been looking for a prime rib French dip and I remember that they used to have a very good one. Wow, I was sadly surprised because I had to send the sandwich back. It was all fat. I don't know who made this thing, but they didn't know anything about making a French dip sandwich and the french fries were soggy. It was very disappointing because I was truly hungry. So be careful what you order and don't be afraid to send it back. That's the only way they're gonna learn. read more

Fry appetizer was cold. Caesar salad and cole slaw were flavorless (how is that even possible?) Broccoli was mush. Mac and cheese was not Mac and cheese. Ribs were tough. We were all just confused with the lack of love put into this food. When the entire table of 5 hated their food you know it's a problem! We would have been more satisfied with McDonald's. We got takeout here on a Tuesday night. Not good. I got the Cajun chicken pasta. Chicken was very rubbery, clearly frozen for a long time and then overcooked. The Cajun sauce on the pasta was overly salty and boring. The pasta was overcooked and gooey. The toasted garlic bread was ok. My partner got the 35 fried shrimp. We've had better luck with that dish in the past but tonight they were overcooked and rubbery. Just overall a miss. The food is always delicious, whether it's something deep fried, or a nice salad, it's always good, or tell them & they'll happily fix it. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was packed. Luckily we got a seat within 20 mins. This is the place to go when you're hungry because they have large portions for decent prices and the menu had a lot of stuff! So much to choose from! Our waitress was 5 stars. She got our order right without writing anything down. She was friendly and helpful. Our food came out rather quickly and my pork osso buco was a really big portion. The meat on the inside was a bit dry and there wasn't enough gravy to cover those pieces but it was still pretty good. I loved the mashed potatoes but the broccoli tasted weird to me. Maybe it was the butter they used? It had a grimy soapy fake butter taste. I didn't like it at all. So overall, this place has good and bad things which I thought 3 stars was fair. My husband and I impromptu stopped in for dinner and were happy with our choice. We sat at the bar and a very pleasant Tyler took care of us. Though he had a lot of customers to take care of us, he made us feel like we were important to him. He was intentive, got the order correct, always noticed when we needed something, looked us straight in the eye and never acted like we were bothering him; seemed happy to take care of us. Best bartender I have experienced in a long time. He did not allow how busy he was effect his level of care or attitude. We both choose burgers so I can only talk about that menu item.
